   We go to west shore a couple times a season. We received great service from our waiter and the manager checked in on us twice. We were a party on nine. And they could not have been more accommodating. It was definitely the nicest service we’ve received anywhere on the lake this year. Even, with staff shortages that all restaurants are enduring, WSC treated us so well. Btw, our food was great. Halibut fish and chips… yummy!

    I’ve been dining here for years but last week was a disappointment. Although the meat dishes were delicious the one vegetarian choice on the menu (truffle risotto) was definitely not. We had a wonderful waitress who helped make up for the very confused and slightly rude experience at the hostess stand. Unfortunately their amazing setting on the lake was marred by the smell of bleach from the kitchen vent nearby. They’re aware of this but for some reason haven’t fixed it. We love this place and hope they can up their game!

    West Shore is one of our favorites. The setting and food quality are unmatched for lakefront dining on Lake Tahoe. We love to arrive by boat—it’s a great destination when spending the day on the boat. This time we drove. It’s a beautiful drive, too. You can’t go wrong!

    Its a Tahoe must!! We love coming here everytime we come to Tahoe. Beautiful setting right on the lake, excellent food and service!! Scott our waiter, could not of been better, he's the best!! We've had him before and was thrilled to have him again taking care of us!!

    I have been dining here for years and since COVID the food quality has steeply declined and and prices are significantly higher . Very disappointing . Ambience is amazing which is too bad given how bad the food is.

    We love this location on the lake but have noticed that the service has gone downhill, the cost of the food has gone up and we were over charged for items we did not order. We had to wait a long time for drinks. Also, there is valet boat parking but we had to wait a very long time for someone to take us back to our boat. It use to be so much better. Hopefully it is a one-time thing going on but it may be a while before we return.

    Love this restaurant and its setting! Shishito peppers and Alaskan Halibut were amazing but the Crab Cakes were pretty dry and the avocado served with it did not complement it. The heirloom and mozarella salad was ok but not wow. It was still a lovely evening and good experience for us.

    The food was very disappointing . I actually felt ill afterwards because the sauces were warm and the slaw that was served with halibut was also very Warm. Those are items and ingredients that should always be kept cold and served chilled. We were disappointed that we requested a seat on the dock and were not unable to sit there.. We have another upcoming reservation and I hope that things will be improved.

    We had made a reservation for lunch at 11:30am two weeks ago to sit on the pier. When we arrived we were told they were holding the pier for a large party at noon. We asked why they didn't notify us of the change in our reservation as we would have gone to another restaurant. Of course when we left at 1pm, there wasn't a party on the pier and the pier was still open for sitting. Very frustrating as we have gone to West Shore Cafe for several years and supported them during tough times. It was clear to us that they didn't value us as customers.

    The setting of the West Shore Cafe is amazing! Beautiful views right on the lake. Our server was personable and attentive. In the past, the food has always been memorable. Sadly, not so much last night. The elk and halibut were both very bland. However, we all recommend the burrata and calamari starters which were delicious. Maybe just an off night, and we still all love West Shore Cafe!

    Walk in and 1st person you meet is on the phone and doesn't even look up. Wait. Finally mention reservation. Now directed downstairs. 2nd person is on the phone and also doesn't look up. Wait. Finally make it to a table. Waiter is surly. Super limited lunch menu. Waiter rushes plate clearing then hovers and hovers trying to rush us out. Yet the place is empty. No cappuccinos are available. 2 super simple salads, one hamburger, 3 iced teas and 2 cups of coffee = $100.00. Why would I ever come back?

    We had a reservation so I expected a nice table, the hidays are gone. We're locals and have dined here off and on for years. We were taken to a table (4 of us) that was no more than 3 feet from the hostess station! I pointed out a nice table for 4 overlooking the lake and asked if it was possible we could sit there. I was told that was for the "investors." There were countless empty tables on the pier; we were told those were for the fixed price dinners! What??? They change chefs yearly so you never know what to expect. The last few years haven't been great. Okay, West Shore, after tonight...I'm done.... the halibut was the driest fish entree I've ever had. We're done, I'll not return. Too many other restaurants around the lake with much better food and service.

    If you visit Tahoe, the Westshore Cafe is a MUST. The setting is a given; what could go wrong on a sunny, mild afternoon on Lake Tahoe. Add in delicious and inventive food and terrific staff. Keep it going!

    Rode our bikes from Tahoe City. The calamari was excellent & good size portion. My only negative is that the food is pricey.
