West Shore Cafe
A picturesque lakefront restaurant and inn located at Lake Tahoe's West Shore, the West Shore Cafe offers guests delicious cuisine and superb service amidst some of the world's most beautiful surroundings. West Shore Cafe offers a festive and romantic lake view setting with elegant, yet approachable cuisine with a seasonal focus. As a year-round destination, the West Shore Cafe beckons skiers during the winter months and is mere steps from sister property, Homewood Mountain Resort. During summer months, the West Shore Cafe's location is ideal for those cruising the bike path, as well as boaters touring Lake Tahoe. West Shore Cafe hosts several buoys, and welcomes boaters and kayakers ashore.
The West Shore Cafe & Inn's restaurant is currently closed for the shoulder season. We will resume dining service in December with a new winter seasonal culinary offering.
Please get rid of the hard seats, I realize Cafe is in the sign but this is an upscale restaurant. Service by Scott was very good. Elk was well prepared. Very nice bar with padded seats :-)
This is our favorite spot to eat at Lake Tahoe! Gorgeous views and always delicious food.
End of the summer season makes for a quiet time at the.lake and easy reservations at West shore. Great weather, sunset, killer service and food! Best time of year!
West Shore Cafe is OK. It was better before. We have not been there for about a year. Food is not great. My salmon was undercooked and it took awhile to get the waiter back to our table.
Atmosphere was better before. They do not have tablecloths and it is now a sports bar with a restaurant. Wine selection was poor especially for Chardonnay. Their prices were high for poor wine $14 to $18.
The outside was not open.
Beautiful restaurant with wonderful food. Great dining experience.
The menu did not offer a basic meal, it seemed too much fu fu food ? It’s a small venue which we do like .. but just felt the the quality of the food could have been better. We had a rib eye, it was thin and tough. Overall it’s a nice place with amazing views, but lacking good foods.
Thank you for a wonderful view of the Harvest Full Moon Rising. Puck was a very attentive server.
We appreciate all of your promotion invitations !
We went on a day they had a Friday night special so the meals were much more reasonable then normal. The breadsticks with the honey butter-omg almost like dessert, I couldn't stop snacking. The halibut I ordered was great and a large portion-my husbands ribeye came purple so he had to send back but it was promptly returned. Overall nice dinner with a great view.
Beautiful view & food was tasty.
The elk was delicious and the setting by the lake made for a lovely mother-son dinner. I look forward to returning in the near future.
Was great needed more gnocchi in the gnocchi dish. But other than that we had a very delightful dinner I would definitely go back. It’s a bit pricey but worth it.
Delicious food, gorgeous setting. The salmon was a highlight...and looking out at Lake Tahoe is always a treat!
You can't beat the view and surroundings. We ate out on the pier and it was just beautiful. Highly recommend this place. The meals are a bit pricey so be prepared for that but worth it.
This is a favorite stop for us whenever we visit the west shore of Lake Tahoe.
It offers lakeside seating with excellent views of the mountains across the lake.
I recommend that you book an early reservation so that you can enjoy the sunset.
Make sure to bring a wrap as the deck will cool down as the night progresses.
The staff is very attentive and knowledgable. Many of them have been there for years.
They can give helpful information to those who may be looking for a wedding venue.
The drinks and wine lits are very good. The entrees are interesting and well proportioned.
The deserts are unimaginative but tasty. The overall experience is a B+. It is a very nice
venue for a good meal with friends and family.
Always a pleasure to it at this restaurant. I just wish they weren't closed almost every Thurs-Sun in the summer for private events!!!!
It’s fine. Great view. Decent service. Food is fine. Just, fine.
Exceptional. We are vacationing in Tahoe .
One of our favorites.
The burrata is incredible and love the honey butter with breadsticks. The view from the dock cannot be beat!
The restaurant setting is so beautiful and we love coming by boat for lunch; however, unless the food quality improves we won’t be back except maybe for cocktails. Not one of the 6 of us had a satisfactory food selection.
Loved our experience at the restaurant, but we always do! Thank you :)
Great scenery...terrific people and product. Really amazing.
Famous people were there!
Excellent food with a water view.
Wonderful dockside table, lovely service, and we left full happy and cheerful!
We took a 45 minute drive from the other side of the Lake to celebrate my Birthday.
The service was horrible.
I asked our waiter if the calamari was a cold appetizer. His response to me was well you were in the bathroom when it arrived so now it’s cold and walked away ???
Dirty plates were not removed from the table.
We were so disappointed in the food. Just inedible.
Maybe it was an off night. We will never return. And we will tell all of our neighbors and friends not to ever go there.
Amazing setting on the lake. Food is superb!
Our server was so personable and we really enjoyed her!!
The calamari, Caesar salad and Summer Corn Soup were all delicious and memorable. The Lake Tahoe setting speaks for itself!!!
Excellent food, excellent setting.
The appetizers, we had 3, were fantastic. The burger was disappointing.
I was surprised there is no Pinot Gregio available. I enjoy a nice glass of Pinot Gregio with my dinner. Did not order any wine.
Beautiful venue done tastefully. Service was excellent and server knew his food and wine. He had great suggestions and gave us wonderful service. Food was also excellent. We sat outside on the deck right on the water and there were heaters that kept us warm when the sun went down and the weather cooled. A little slice of heaven and indulgence.
Great views, food and service
Excellent service and delicious food!
The ambience is top notch, food was OK, service a bit slow.
Outstanding service and delicious food
Delicious food. Fresh halibut, Wagyu beef and hor d'oeuvres.
Bread stick stale argh !! Go After the music stops next door.
Make sure you tell them where you want to sit. Deck or dock.
Our bus boy was far better than the waiter.
This place is amazing. We are getting married here next year and love it! Great food and the views are amazing.
Great for the best lake views and good dining. Only issue is the receptionist treated us like they were doing us a favor and did not honor the type of table we requested even though we were first ones in and a loyal customer
We had a great dinner on Tuesday evening. Our server was outstanding! We will definitely be back.
we enjoyed a beautiful evening sitting on the dock. Sadly, our entrees (halibut & Steak) were all overcooked. The halibut dish was recommended by the water but it was bland and the fish was tough from overcooking. If I went back, I'd order appetizers and a drink. The entrees weren't worth the price.
Thank you for providing us with this review as well as visiting us for a lakeside dining experience. While we're glad you enjoyed a beautiful evening on the pier with us, we're sorry to hear that your entrees were not up to par. We will be sure to pass your feedback along to our culinary team and we hope we can invite you back for another dining experience soon. We believe our newest seasonal dinner menu is the best yet and we hope you'll visit us soon to try it again. Thank you for visiting.
