West Park Bistro
Booked for Mother’s Day. No info anywhere on open table or email about a set menu. $36 pp with only a few choices of entrees including an entree chicken Caesar or an omelette. Total ripoff because it’s Mother’s Day ? Shame in west park. I don’t mind the pricing but there was 0 value and poor service. No excuse. They ran out of all dessert choices except one. Service was surly and terrible. Our first and last experience at West Park.
Overall service was slow. And they sat us without finding my reservation. I have CC charge as evidence.
For Mother's Day they only had a prix fixe menu that was very overpriced and they had run out of a number of items. The service was very slow even though they were not busy. Will not go back.
Very nice Mothers Day Brunch. We go for dinner all the time. First time for breakfast and it was great.
We've tried this place twice before over the past few years. The two previous times, we loved the ambiance and the location but the food did not impress us at all, especially for the price. *This* time we went for Mother's Day and I'm not sure what, if anything, has changed with the menu and ingredient selection, but the food was mostly phenomenal! It was also so dramatic, in a very good way, that the plates come out almost all at once by multiple food runners - it's a very nice effect versus waiting for each set of plates to be served by one person.
We always have a great meal and a good time at West Park Bistro.
We didn’t know anything about this place—just made brunch reservations because we happened to be in the area—and it was delicious! We had the bacon jalapeño scramble and the French toast and both were terrific. Service was efficient and pleasant and the outdoor table was lovely. Would definitely go back!
Loved it. Great food very nice place and not too noisy.
The staff was great we had the Chilean sea bass. Cooked just perfect light an moist with mashed potatoes. They sautéed Chantal mushrooms with onions good but chewy. Mom had scallops with green pea risotto great taste and presentation
Always a lovely afternoon or evening at West Park Bistro. The menu is varied and the meals always tasty.
The restaurant has a good vibe--easy to converse with table mates--and cannot say enough good words for the owners and staff. Yes, our favorite "go to" restaurant.
West Park Bistro is consistently our best dining experience. It’s our favorite restaurant because their culinary skills are superb, meals are delicious and service is outstanding. The bar and wine list is impressive. West Park Bistro offers outdoor seating, contemporary casual or upscale elegant dining rooms. Highly recommend this San Carlos restaurant!
Great service. The waiter was very conscientious about my date's lactose issues and monitored things closely. Much appreciated.
They gave us a private room. The waiter was attentive and helpful. Appetizers were great, food was good, fish a little dry.
This was sadly a terrible experience. After waiting over 10 minutes to be greeted we finally got the attention of a server who was kind enough to take us on as customers but he was clearly busy. Food took forever, it was cold when it came, drinks were watered down, and when I asked for a manager, he could care less about our concerns. We will not be returning. For a $200 meal for 3, we expected so much better.
Last Sunday, we went to West Park Bistro to celebrate my birthday. Both the food and the service were outstanding. We ordered a shared apple crisp for dessert and they also brought a mini cheesecake with a candle to wish me a happy birthday. We would happily go back.
What West Park Bistro has is a lot of variety in their food offerings. Fish, vegetarian, pork, chicken and beef are all there, with sides that covered the usual vegetable and potato fare. Our waiter, John, couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. Maybe a little pricey, but I'm fine with that as long as I get the high quality of meals and service that I received at Park West.
The restaurant was great in all aspect, from the food and wine selection, to the great service. Overall, everyone in our party of 10 was very happy.
Really good, great service and specials. We had a great dinner with friends
Went there for my birthday celebration lunch and we were all very pleased! The food, service, ambiance, were all great! They even gave us a complimentary cheesecake dessert! I was very happy that they put us in the larger room as well, as it was nice/warm/cozy... THANK YOU!
I really dislike writing a negative review, but we had a very odd and bad experience. We had dinner with another couple. We sat for 15 minutes with no water and no drink order. Finally someone came to take the order and immediately another person came and asked the same question. Drinks were served and we had to wait another 15 minutes for them to take an appetizer order. They just kept forgetting our table. Then when we ordered, the server was in such a hurry he skipped my husband totally. Just left with three orders. I had to go find the waiter! My fish wasn't fresh. The other food was fine and the atmosphere was nice. Maybe just an off night, but it was very underwhelming.
Restaurant reservation times not accurate on Open Table. I made a 4:30 reservation but restaurant does not open till 5pm. The restaurant was accommodating for this and did seat party and got order going.
Took the family for a dinner to celebrate 2 birthdays. The food was delicious and the service was fine. Had hoped noting the special occasion on our reservation would prompt a little extra attention, but alas there was no special effort or attention from staff.
Really great food and wine selection. Definitely will go back again. I think it was the best pork I ever had.
We always enjoy our experience. Wait staff is engaging and the food is delicious.
Great food snd staff
It’s been a while since we’ve eaten at this restaurant. Service was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their dinners. The pear and goat cheese raviolis were very good. The lamb chops were wonderful. Prepared just the way I ordered. We definitely will be back.
The restaurant was pleasant, the service was great but the food was bland. Everything we ordered was fresh and well presented but had no taste, it was very disappointing. We won’t go back.
Service could have been better. They forgot our main course and we had to remind them after 45 mins
We waited a bit for our table even though we had a reservation. It was Valentine’s Day, though, and they were very busy. We sat at the bar and waited while we looked over the menu. We were a little surprised to see a limited prix fix menu for the night at $70/pp. We didn’t know about it when we booked. It included an appetizer, main course and dessert. The food was good, so it wasn’t a problem, but it would have been nice to know beforehand. Good service, a little slow but they were very busy. Overall a good experience
Despite having made a valentines reservation about 2 weeks ahead when we arrived on time there was no record of our reservation at the restaurant. I showed the hostess my reservation confirmation and she acknowledged it and said the reservation did not make it to their system but they would try to seat us in 20 minutes. It was already 8pm on a work night so we went across the street to another restaurant that was able to seat us. Needless to say this wasn’t the experience I planned for a special night out with my husband.
They should have advertised that they only have fixed menu for Valentine’s day. Service was super slow. They also ran out of dessert we wanted.
The food was fabulous! Appetizers, dinner, and dessert were all amazing. The service was incredibly slow, however. Granted, it was Valentine’s Day, but, if they are going to charge such a premium for that day, it would be great if they could maintain a higher quality of service. We waited 30 minutes after they cleared the appetizers for the main dish.
We came for Valentine’s Day and were pleasantly surprised at how organized they were for a packed house..
Food was great, so was service!
Coming back soon..
Food wasn’t great. Seafood was over cooked and didn’t have a ton of flavor
We usually dine at Town but decided to try something new. Enjoyed dining as the food was wonderful, and the restaurant was much quieter than Town. We didn't have to raise our voices to have a conversation. We will definitely be back!
We had a nice time at brunch. They refilled our mimosas on time and well. The brunch food could have been a bit better- more salt in mushroom omelette and less Smokey salmon in the Benedict. But all fixable. Didn’t have crab cakes which is what we were looking for. Very warm soft bread with herb butter. Overall nice time and probably could come back. We were served by over 5 people.
As usual everything was very good. This place is consistent so it has become our 'go to' dinner spot when we dine out alone or with friends.
All the pasta dishes are fantastic and so are the salads and most appetizers. Great burger and steaks/chops. We have tried pretty much everything on the menu since they've opened and we are never disappointed. This time we tried the crab cake appetizer (again) which I did not like (again). They deep fry instead of pan fry which I don't like. The crab meat was a little mushy (no lumps of crab meat.) The salsa that accompanied them was too heavy on the onion which took away from the delicate flavors of crab and mango. Other than that everything was wonderful.
The food and drinks were good but the service was terrible. Would not recommend and definitely not going back.
The table was not set for 6 people as requested through the reservation. They we're extremely slow and unattentive throughout the entire meal. We almost had to stand up 3 times during the meal to request more water, wine, and bread. They are lucky the food is decent because the service was not. We went there to celebrate a birthday and it was definitely not the experience we were hoping for.
