Our service was amazing. The waitress was great and the food was delicious! thank you.
We sat 3 tables in from the door and it was freezing. My partner couldn't take his coat and scarf off and had to order hot tea just to stay warm during dinner. It really affected the dinner. Both of us wanted the lobster tagliatelle but it wasn't available due to menu changes. It was odd because we ordered lobster as an appetizer and all the other pastas were using the same noodles so we were bummed we couldnt have the dish while the menu was being changed.
Took my wife here for her birthday. The food was pretty good, I really liked the salmon entree, and the lobster and calamari appetizers. I got the lamb shank and while it was cooked quite tender and fell off the bone it didn't seemed like it was seasoned quite right. The service from the waiter was exceptional, quite courteous and friendly, he was easily the best part of the experience in the evening.
Great food!! Loved the music and fun atmosphere, however staff didn't seem too bothered by the several guests breaking covid safety. Wouldn't go here if you are uneasy about Covid. Otherwise great experience.
Love the ambiance and food! Service was great too. Will be back again to try lunch and dinner.
Reasonable food. Reasonably-priced. Reasonable service.
Overall very nice. Didn’t get the table type I booked but it was still very nice.
Food was great especially the maui ribs. Drinks great at $6. Decorations fell down on me and they comped drinks for the 3 of us. Very nice experience. Restaurant really wowed us.
Amazing Vibe! Amazing food, Amazing Servers, Great Spot ...
Good Time!
Food was tasty and well prepared. I will go back for sure.
I feel no restaurant should be judged in this moment. We are all struggling and I was very happy just to find an open restaurant with very good food.
Had a great meal here for my boyfriends birthday. Waitress was so friendly and chatty and even organized candles in the desert and shots for the celebrations. Really loved the extra touch and how nice she was. Food was also great!
Service and food always first class, never a disappointment! Thanks all
Great place with excellent food and solid service. Just sad in these pandemic times to see the place so empty. We were one of only 3 tables during our entire visit. I hope they survive as the restaurant has a lot going for it.
Great food, great service as usual
Our 2nd time in 2 weeks
The place is fixed up to be trendy. We only had items off the share menu. The lamb popsicles were good, but the rest was just ok. The prices were high for the quality and food value. It wasn’t bad, just not good enough for the prices. Definitely not for foodies.
Danica was amazing.
We had such a ridiculous experience we would not go again.
I wish I could say I loved this place, however our service was not great. Our server looked like a slob with a dirty shirt and dirty pants as if he’d been wearing them for a few shifts. He kept pulling his mask off so that while taking our order and serving our food, his nose was always exposed and was was way too close to us for not having his face properly covered. I was very put off by this server- it was a Saturday brunch res and not that busy, but he screwed up different tables’ orders and was just quite disgusting to look at.
The food was good, the chicken and waffles takes forever though (two tables ordered after us, got their food and left before we got our order served). The benny’s on other tables looked great, unfortunately I won’t be going back to this place. Considering there was a Covid case there just the other day, I felt the server or restaurant wasn’t taking proper precautions.
** A note to the restaurant; during a pandemic you shouldn’t be making people at the table share condiments.
Perfectly medium poached eggs. Best we’ve had in Yaletown!
good ambience, good appetizer.
pasta was overcooked and clumpy, so they offered free dessert which was peanut butter chocolate icecream, but it was very salty.. could not eat any more than one bite..
music is very loud, understaffed, had to wait for a long time to grab the cheque.
Drinks/cocktails were nice and the food was decent but the brunch menu was a little small. However, COVID likely affected the menu size.
The food and service are consistently good at West Oak. What is, unfortunately, so off-putting at this same restaurant is the volume of bad music. I don't know why it has to be so loud and the music itself is also very much not to my liking. I've gotten to where I'll only eat at West Oak if we can get a seat outside (where we would much rather tolerate the sirens, car horns and pedestrian noises). Diners often want to chat over their meals and it is essentially impossible to do so in the dining room on some days. My belief is that the music should be low volume and in the background --- not distracting and uncomfortable. So, our routine now is walking by West Oak and when the loud music is blaring and the patio looks full we keep on walking looking for another place to eat.
It honestly looked better in pictures. It was a big space with plexiglass yet they still sat people close together
One of the best places to eat/drink in Yaletown. Best service in Vancouver. Great place to take a date, long time partner, or just meet up with friends and family.
Took my parents for dinner we are in our 50's they in their 70's and we felt very old lol but the food was great the service was great and we would definitely go back!
Good food, good drinks, good service. Overall good experience. Highly recommend
It was great the setting, the food, the place. As for the service it wasn’t good at all! Waited so long to order and even pay the bill, server wasn’t so friendly.
The food was amazing!! Fresh out of the kitchen, it was hot still once it hit our table!! The only downside was after we went home, I realized that on the West Oak Instagram they advertised “complimentary mimosa with brunch”, we went for brunch, my boyfriend and I both ordered a mimosa and paid full price for it. We didn’t know that it was a deal till we left so it’s unfortunate that the staff didn’t go or that for us. None the less it was a overall good experience!
First brunch since COVID started. Missed this place. Food excellent as always. I think the portions are larger than I remember.
See you soon!
Great service! Shrimp appetizer is amazing.
Had an issue with the host that checked us in, told her we are willing to wait for the big corner booth seat if she could thoroughly cleaned the table and seat especially during these covid times we thought that would be fair to ask. She cleans the table lightly but completely neglects the seats! There were food crumbs left behind from the previous guests with water or alcohol droplets as well. I then reached out politely for her to clean the seats to which she ONLY wipes a fifth of the whole seat and then dismisses us to seat the next group who were waiting. So this is now my third time asking for help and we had another server come this time and helped to make sure the seats were sanitized and dry for sitting. All in all the food was amazing but the start of our night kinda took away from the experience I planned for my GF birthday dinner
Great experience and friendly service! Food was to die for, definitely coming back again!
Food was really good, portions were a tiny bid smaller than an average restaurant but was really great. The music was good if you like a younger vibe and the servers were really fast
Firstly I waited for almost 30 minutes in front of the restaurant (no one was at the front-door). The server was pushy and what my friend later described as "too in his head" (the restaurant was far from busy). I ordered Fresh Wild Scallops with sweet pea, and the scallop was way too overcooked and burnt on one side. But the sides and cocktails were delicious. Overall, it was an okay experience.
Enjoyable, tasty and relaxing. Decent service but had to wait for plates and cutlery.
Went for Happy Hour with my friend as was very impressed. The food was delicious. The Calamari was my favorite with the Prawns as a very close second.
Great spot for brunch! Highly recommend the tofu quinoa salad.......
Be aware. Not all servers wear their masks properly including the gentleman who looks to be the floor manager for the evening. He covered his mouth but not nose. The restaurant is cramped. Food is good as usual.
Excellent service, food undercooked would go again 💕
