Experience the best of both worlds at West East Bistro. This contemporary eatery showcases a variety of Pacific Rim specialties, including Japanese, Chinese and Korean dishes, as well as continental and American specialties including sliders, lobster macaroni and cheese and lamb shank stew. West East Bistro's dining area is equally distinctive, from contemporary art that graces the walls to the inviting, bistro-style dining room.
West East Bistro offer full menus for lunch and dinner, as well as a popular weekend brunch. The restaurant features an extensive wine and beer menu, including craft beers and signature cocktails that you can enjoy.
We came for dinner the last weekend before West-East closes. As usual, we had an excellent meal and reflected on all the good times we've enjoyed at this place. Will miss you and we wish Jay and Raquel the best of luck with their new place in Oakdale
Wasn't happy with the place a couple of years ago; decided to give it another try. Disappointed again. I wanted a burger ---on menu but not available. Another choice was salmon---on menu but not available. Prices high-portions small. Good wine saved the experience. Will NEVER go back and certainly won't recommend it.
limited menu, food overcooked, waitress came only once, would have had a second drink but no one asked, no bread or anything was brought to table, left hungry
There were changed in the menu but they were not improvements
Shortage in available food and drink
Not hamburgers, came specifically for what was very good but expensive $20 hamburgers
Super healthy food and waitress was knowledgeable about food intolerances.
One of our favorite restaurants. The food is always wonderful! We are never disappointed. They have been consistently willing to accommodate all possible dietary needs. LOVE THIS PLACE!
I have always like this place and have eaten here often with never a disappointment . Early reservations for dinner Sunday (7PM) and 3 dishes were all out already due to a heavy brunch crowd is what we were told.
So was a little disappointed but I still recommend West East as a place to go
Thanks
Rich
Amazing host, been here multiple times, and she's so great! Servers, waiters, waitresses, and busboys, you name it, every single person working at this beautiful and unique restaurant really takes time to make sure that each person who comes into their restaurant is treated very well. And the food? Every single thing I've tried here is beyond delicious, and I keep bringing more and more people here just because I crave their food, and then those people fall in love with the place as well! Presentation of the food is also very pretty. They also have wonderful and very talented live musicians, they bring so much energy to the room. Overall, one of my absolute favorite restaurants in all of New York City and Long Island, with a nice ambiance. Anyone that comes here will be sure to leave with a smile on their face, and will come back again!
Just felt that the food was overpriced....and nothing special. tempura shrimp appetizer was very good...the mahi mahi was dry and the pork belly sandwich was blah.....did not have dessert. the bill was wrong and it took a while for it to be fixed.....not someplace I have any desire to return to.
Luv the idea of eating out like I eat at home, healthy & tasteful!
The brunch portions seemed to be a bit small and the food was okay, not great.
Great service great ambiance loved the decor. Overall we had an awesome experience
Overpriced and not worth it. Food was fresh and good but came in very small portions for the price.
Dine here about once a month with different friends and family and have never been disappointed. Tried the avocado soup which was divine, very fresh tasting. the gumbo was spicy and chunky. The fluke was cooked to perfection and served on a bed of spicy lentils which complemented the white fish. The saffron creme brulee was to die for and the kulfi never disappoints. The restaurant was quiet for lunch and the service attentive but not intrusive.
West East has been a favorite of our family since it opened. The food is always delicious and fresh. There are so many seasonal favorites that would appeal to any palate. I have a food allergy which I mentioned to the server. After we placed the order, she came back to tell me that an ingredient in the meal was one that I am allergic to, and the chef would prepare the meal without that ingredient. It was a lovely meal to celebrate my husband's birthday. I highly recommend West East to anyone who loves delicious, fresh, seasonal food.
The shrimp mac n cheese was amazing
Great place to eat, especially for date nights and get togethers. Superb food and excellent service.
Very good restaurant in the wrong location. If this place were in a more vibrant dining town I would like to think it would do better. That being said, the food was different and enjoyable.
The food here is delicious and of the finest quality. Extra care is taken to insure that everyone's food allergies and sensitivities are addressed. This is a really smart choice if someone in your party has celiac disease or a food allergy. The wait staff makes a big effort to review the menu and direct diners to safe choices. And the food is delicious!!
The grass fed beef was seasoned to perfection & the carrot cake was delightful! I love the fact that everything is natural and Paleo friendly.
Been going here for years. Always great food. The wine list and bar getting full. Live music on the weekends. Great place to be.
Amazing food and service! Steve and mike were awesome! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was good, prices were high for portion size, but I guess that's the price of non GMO all natural food options. Live band was really nice and beautiful art.
Greeted and seated quickly. Tables for two were slightly too close to other diners for comfort. Service was a little on the slow side. Lamb burger was good but a little too rare. Requested medium. This was our third time dining here. Previous meals were good. Little on the pricey side. Overall we would recommend.
We have been so pleased each time we go to West East Bistro. The food has always been excellent; the ambience, fun and energetic with live music; the staff, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. This time we took advantage of the Prix Fix Menu which was a great deal. We will be back.
A good "natural food" restaurant located in a very small strip mall. Service was excellent; food was plated well but I am not so certain that it was as outstanding as advertised. Noise level was moderate-low which made eating there fun and not rushed. Enjoyable-great no. Enjoyable- yes. Guitarist was interesting and not intrusive. Expensive dinner.
The owners are so pleasant and accommodating. Staff is very knowledgeable. The food is organic, local, non-gmo and the menu absolutely divine.
Besides impeccable ingredients the dishes are designed and prepared so thoughtfully.
Perfect portion sizes.
The environment is lively and refreshing and a place you would want to be.
The wine list is stellar.
There is something for everyone! So happy I found this place.
Delicious food prepared with care. Servers are knowledgable about food and drinks. Pleasant setting. One of our favorite places for a special occasion. I don't mind paying a little more for that quality
I've been there at least 4 times this month and my taste buds were extremely satisfied during every visit. I love that they use organic/pasture raised/sustainably sourced ingredients. Definitely one of my favorite dining out spots for 2016
Food had great flavors
I invited friends to meet at West East Bistro the day before Valentine's Day. None of us had eaten there before, so I had poured over the menu on-line. My friends and I all liked the menu. Imagine our surprise when we were given special pre-fixe Valentine's menu with no other options. This was not on their website as of a couple days before. Thankfully, my friends did not mind the imposition of a $40 4-course meal each, but I felt badly for them not having a choice. Two of us had wanted to eat more vegetables than meat, and I don't normally eat 4 courses. So this was a negative and I recommend calling ahead if you're going around a holiday.
Now for the food, everyone enjoyed theirs. I chose this restaurant for their organic food, which is super to have available when dining out. I'd describe the menu as quite flavorful. A nice touch was the musician playing guitar.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!
THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING AND THE SERVICE IS
WARM AND WELCOMING PLUS ITS ALL NATURAL AND ORGANIC
STEVE AND JAY ARE GREAT HOSTS AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT
FOOD AND WINE
IT SHOWS, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WEST EAST AND HAVE BEEN BACK
MANY TIMES
Always a pleasure with innovative menu, great specials and tastings dinners, great live music and Chef Jay's welcoming presence.
This was the second visit for both of us but the first time for brunch. After our initial disappointment that Lobster Mac and Cheese was not on the menu (a problem with their supplier we were told) we settled in for a delicious, unhurried brunch. We started with the salmon appetizer which was not too salty. We both had steak and eggs, a fillet with scrambled eggs, one rare, one medium rare, both done to perfection. Then we ended with a soft chocolate cake which was delicious. The champagne was very pleasant and plentiful and the bellinis were lightly flavored not mixed half and half with juice as you sometimes get at brunches. The choices we made for brunch were very American in character whereas the dinners we had on our first visit were distinctly Asian. We enjoyed both and will return soon. West East Bistro is quickly becoming our favorite LI restaurant.
Another fantastic dinner at West-East Bistro. This farm to table restaurant has a seasonal menu and very creative tasty options. The prix-fixe menu is a great deal. You can't beat 4 courses for $40. The gumbo was delicious and the spring rolls were to die for. The petite filet was perfectly cooked. Another think that I love about this restaurant is that there is a healthy kids menu, but I was disappointed to see that the fish option was taken off. I know that most kids are picky eaters, but some are not and what I loved about this restaurant initially is that they did not dumb down their kids menu with junk food. The waiter explained that they took the salmon off of the kids menu because it was no longer in season and that most kids did not order it so it didn't make sense to keep that option. I understand that, but I would like to suggest that the fish is put back on as "seasonal fish"option for the kids that are not picky eaters. Even though the fish was no longer on the kids menu, the chef was very kind and cut a child size portion of the fish that they had on hand and charged us the kid price. I love this restaurant even more for being willing to do that for our "foodie" child. I hope that this establishment considers putting a fish option back on the kids menu and if not, I hope that they continue to let us order that for our child in the future. I highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
We have been here a few times and it never fails that they exceed our expectations. The food is always fresh and the service is precise. We have always found that the fish dishes are dead on and well seasoned. We will be back again
Serves tasty well prepared organic food in a lovely hip yet serene setting. Wait staff were helpful, polite and insightful.
It is located in an under-populated strip mall in an industrial area just off of Route 107. Don't let the location deter you - go! eat! enjoy!
I had a late evening meeting and wanted to grab a quick bit and located this restaurant on OpenTable. The restaurant decorum was beautiful showcasing wonderful portraits and was very soothing. The menu was eclectic, but the items were a bit pricy. The food quality was good, but the quantity was small compared to the cost. Although the service was wonderful, I'm not sure I'd bother going back due to the excessive prices.
We went with another couple and the 4 of us really enjoyed our meal. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The scallops I had were perfectly prepared and served with the best mashed potatoes I ever tasted. The chocolate cake I had for dessert was out of this world. Thanks for a memorable meal. We will be back!
This restaurant consistently delivers great service and elegant dishes. The atmospher was great for New Year's Eve with live music. The wine list was impressive. The food has been delicious both times I went. I am in love with their Duck con fit over polenta with cranberries. I could eat that every day.
