Lovely dinner...service at bar and table was amazing. Food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back!
Fine brunch. Service a bit slow
I've been to West Bank many times, and this was the first time that I was incredibly disappointed both in the service and in some of the food. One of our party ordered the omelette and it didn't even come with toast; plus it was very small so very unsatisfying. I ordered my favorite lemon ricotta pancakes with a side of two eggs over easy. The eggs came late and were scrambled so I asked they be redone as ordered. They came well after we had all finished eating our meal! And the waitress never came by to ask if wanted more coffee...we had to hunt her or someone else down to ask. And the cups seem to have gotten smaller as well! I don't think the price we paid reflected what we got. I don't think I'll be heading back after many many years.
I’ve been dining here for several years. Always a good experience. Friendly staff. Excellent food.
Have dined here three times in the last two months. Great location for pre-theater dinner, and the wait staff ensures you get out in time for your show. Food is very good. Some of our favorites - the mushroom risotto balls, lamb chop lollipops, rigatoni bolognese, crabcakes, and brussels sprouts. Friendly and efficient staff. Will definitely be back.
The atmosphere is warm and cheerful. The food is excellent and presented beautifully. We love coming back to this special place.
Pre theatre 3 friends lunch before theatre. Perfect place great food. Portions perfect. Loved this place
Very comfortable and delicious. Especially grateful that staff pays attention to special requests on reservations.
Consistent, good food and good service. I also feel the place has a calm atmosphere that is an oasis in that neighborhood. Nice well heeled mellow crowd.
Fine but ordinary menu. Good service. Convenient to Theater Row off BDWY theaters.
Excellent, great service and very friendly.
Food was plentiful.
Waiter was very helpful.
Owner is friendly and caring
Had a terrific brunch here before a Saturday matinee. I went with two friends who are very picky eaters and always ask for extra things and substitutions - everyone was happy with their meal. The service was excellent and our server didn't miss a beat and was patient with my demanding friends. I will come back. Hard to find a decent place on 42nd Street that's not filled with tourists and kids.
When I lived in NY, the West Bank was my regular place. Now, every time I visit, I return. It’s fabukous. Consistently excellent.
Excellent food and good service with one exception - the waiter poured our sparkling wine even though the bottle was not cold. He did go and get an ice bucket so the 2nd glass was excellent! We shared the burrata and salmon tartar to start - both were perfectly delicious! Then we both opted for the special of scallops that were very yummy.
Always a great experience!
We had not been there for a few years based on what the theater scene was like. So we were glad to return. The food is outstanding but we had to wait until one of the main dishes was served so we could all begin. There should be one person who makes sure all are served--we had to stop two people to get the fourth dish.
We both really enjoyed our shared appetizer and main courses. A wonderful place to eat when attending theater in that area.
My friends and I have been coming here for special get-togethers for years now. They never disappoint.
The food and service were outstanding. The main lunch choices were varied and abundant.
We had a table for two in a back room, and relatively secluded area. Quiet and good for conversation. The food and service were outstanding. Nothing better than those risotto balls.
Waiter was not attentive. Had to ask for bread salt etc
Not accustomed to poor service
This is an always friendly, well located café with tasty choices and convivial service.
Truffle Risoto was very yummy. Christopher was our smiling, happy, efficient and helpful waiter.
West Bank has been around for years
Always a very cool show biz crowd
always fun and the food is good
Excellent food and very nice staff and service. We've been going here for years and it's consistently excellent. Good place to go before the theater.
Food & service was excellent. Very diligent about getting us out in time for the theater.
Great as always
Great place, our fourth time there and we love it every time!
The service is excellent. Really great experience each time.
The food was very good, but the service lacked terribly (despite the fact that it was not very crowded).
I added a note to get 2 flutes of champagne upon arrival to surprise my date: not only I didn't get them and had to ask for them (after we had already gotten drinks ...), but I did not get told that they don't sell that champagne by the glass and tried to charge me a full bottle.
When I pointed it out, the manager was extremely rude and pulled the check book from my hand; I've never seen such terrible customer service.
Recommended for the great food, but don't expect a nice service.
Always terrific. Don't miss the Salmon Tartare but ask for extra chips. Great beet and goat cheese salad and burger with all the trimmings. We always dine here when going to Playwrights Horizons or Signature Theatre. It's a gem!
A special Westside theater staple, I have been conning for over 30 years. Always reliable foods and service great menu, friendly and accommodating. I have dined, hens partiedms and events. Will always recommend!
Excellent food and a quiet space. Many options for vegetarians and the seafood was fresh.
Always a reliable place for pre theater dinner.
Very nice menu...had an interesting tasty lunch dish of spaghetti squash, vegetables, tomato sauce and squash. Keep hoping to try the Laurie Beechman theater downstairs when have time. Perfect location if attending theater across the street at the Signature Theater complex.
Chris was fantastic! Thanks.
The West Bank Café is consistent. The food & service is always wonderful, offering a very comfortable atmosphere. And the wine selection offers numerous choices, many at reasonable prices.
I love this restaurant and have been going for years. The roast chicken with mashed potatoes is especially delicious.
Although the pre-theater noise level interfered with our hearing each other and our server, the food and service were very good. This restaurant knows how to make sure you won't miss your curtain.
Excellent neighborhood gem, Great for pre/post theater lunch, dinner, or after for a quick bite.
