I'd forgotten how good the food and service was at the WBC. Year's ago I lived in the neighborhood and it was my several times a month spot. I had tickets on Theatre Row and walked in hoping it was as satisfying, fun and friendly as the 1990s. WBC didn't disappoint. A homecoming.
Fine food convenient to theater
Great Brunch & Lunch!!!
First time here for brunch and it was exceptional. We will definitely come back.
As usual, this venue proved ideal for a small meeting of friends (with business to transact) for a late lunch, this time on a Saturday. We chose an off-hour (3 PM) and were able to discuss our business and socialize for as long as needed, while enjoying the delicious and reasonably priced food that this restaurant offers.
As always, it was great.
Food delicious, creative. Tom gave us excellent recommendations & service. Much appreciated.
Loved the brunch. Great food at a great price. Perfect for before matinee . Will go back often.
Great restaurant for pre-theatre. The food & service is great!! We always enjoy coming here.
The West Bank Cafe was surprisingly good. I had selected it as a pre theater Saturday afternoon
lunch restaurant. I dislike brunch and the West Bank offered many other options.
The food was good. The service was very attentive. It was very convenient to the theaters on
42nd Street. I would definitely return.
Dinner after matinee. Found based on open table and location to parking garage/theater. Perfect!
prices have increased substantially in recent past to the point that it is no longer worth it considering the food and ambiance
Food and service was good (Saturday evening, theater hour), but not entirely up to the standards of previous visits. Salads were lovely. Mains were a little haphazard: chicken a little dry, special requests did not initially come from the kitchen correctly. Nice selection of small plates and regular entrees.
Decent food. Indifferent service.
Always a great experience at The West Bank Cafe. Service is attentive without being intrusive. Food is always delicious and if you want the best burger in town, this is the place to go. If you are into more upscale dishes, the specials menu never disappoints.
Always a reliable restaurant for pre-theater dining. Kind and efficient staff.
Good place for pre-theater. You can be seated immediately, while waiting for your friends, which is a big plus in a NYC restaurant. The food was good and good value-considering the neighborhood. Staff and service are friendly and on top what you need. A safe bet on all counts.
Lovely environment, yummy food, excellent service. We will return, especially because you are so close to 2nd Stage Theater and Signature Theater.
The food was much better than we expected and the portions were big. The salmon tartare appetizer could have been a light meal. Definitely to share. Hanger steak salad was cooked as I asked and the portion was large. Coffee was served with real heavy cream! It was busy at lunch but not overwhelmingly and the noise level was low. Easy and well located place to go before a matinee. We'll go back.
Great wait staff and flexible chef as always - fun, no pretense and always a celeb sighting and loads of regulars!
West Bank is a dependable old friend. We've been going there for 25 years, pre-theatre, post-theatre, lunch, casual dinner, group gatherings, and we'll continue to be there. The menu is not extensive, and it changes from time-to-time, but I've never had a problem finding something good to eat. Service is always great. Don't surprised if you see a celebrity or two.
West Bank Cafe has been one of our favorites for years - it never disappoints!!
We love having Sunday brunch at West Bank; the lemon ricotta pancakes are a real treat, and the eggs benedict are delicious. The french toast and egg scramble are also a great choice.
The West Bank Cafe has been our 'go to restaurant for lunch' before a theatre matinee. The food is outstanding and we have always been pleased with attentive service.
Went for bottomless brunch before Sunday matinee on Broadway. Great food, great service and reasonably priced. So glad we found this place. Will definitely be back.
We came for dinner pre-theater. The kitchen was extremely busy and we had to rush our dinner after waiting close to an hour for the meal to be served. Although this could have been a disaster, the Maitre d' Clinton was outstanding! He was extremely gracious and his actions have pretty much guaranteed that we will return.
Very good food and the fixed price pre-theater menu is very reasonable.
Perfect, as always. Anytime we're near Times Square this is the place to go.
Usual welcoming and relaxed weekend brunch. Low noise level, very nice food
My go-to for business and personal lunches in the area because it is quiet enough to hold good conversations and the food and service is excellent.
West Bank is a reliable spot for after theatre dining because their kitchen is open until 11:00 PM and there are always tables available. My drinks were a bit watered down which I found disappointing and will be sure to mention next time I order one.
Never disappointed. Never feel rushed. Friendly staff, great bar.
We had a Wonderful time. The food was delicious, our waiter was fantastic, as was all the staff. Great find. I will be back!
West Bank is always so lovely to visit. The menu is classy & the specials are always great!! Very go wine list!!
Actually glad we went , it has been a while. Always seemed crowded and noisy, and, well, overpriced. You pay for the convenience of the location. But have to say, we made a later reservation, around 7:30, in order to avoid the pre/theatre crowd. The food was pretty good, yes, it is pricey for what it is but not overly outrageous, and we could actually hear each other. My complaint would be , we felt like an after thought the whole evening. It was like the rush was over and it was time to take breaks. Our waiter to finally come over to us and introduce himself took quite the while, and then, we waited for our drinks and so on. Waited for our dinner...oh my, we were not in a hurry, but one does get hungry. We had plenty of water and bread, but everything in between took twice as long as it normally would in a restaurant? Ha! So, while we got less noise and craziness, we waited to be thought of, except for the amazing bus boys who kept us hydrated with water and fairly full with bread!
Have been to West Bank over the years but not in the last few. Our return found the restaurant painted in warm tones adding to the ambiance. It was a vibrant and lively but not raucous feel. Pretheatre goers getting their meals quickly but not hurriedly. Service was impeccable .
Will be returning more often, now that we are liiving closer.
Enjoyed everything! Will be back soon to try other items.
Great before Broadway show!
House salad was great. My salmon was cooked perfectly. My wife had the pork chop which was well prepared. They have great french fries.
Great choice if you are attending one of the theaters on the extreme west end of 42nd Street.
