West Bank is a reliable spot for after theatre dining because their kitchen is open until 11:00 PM and there are always tables available. My drinks were a bit watered down which I found disappointing and will be sure to mention next time I order one.

Actually glad we went , it has been a while. Always seemed crowded and noisy, and, well, overpriced. You pay for the convenience of the location. But have to say, we made a later reservation, around 7:30, in order to avoid the pre/theatre crowd. The food was pretty good, yes, it is pricey for what it is but not overly outrageous, and we could actually hear each other. My complaint would be , we felt like an after thought the whole evening. It was like the rush was over and it was time to take breaks. Our waiter to finally come over to us and introduce himself took quite the while, and then, we waited for our drinks and so on. Waited for our dinner...oh my, we were not in a hurry, but one does get hungry. We had plenty of water and bread, but everything in between took twice as long as it normally would in a restaurant? Ha! So, while we got less noise and craziness, we waited to be thought of, except for the amazing bus boys who kept us hydrated with water and fairly full with bread!

Have been to West Bank over the years but not in the last few. Our return found the restaurant painted in warm tones adding to the ambiance. It was a vibrant and lively but not raucous feel. Pretheatre goers getting their meals quickly but not hurriedly. Service was impeccable .
Will be returning more often, now that we are liiving closer.

West Bank is always reliable for good food, good service. And it's great during shows - once the crowds go to the theater, it's a really good quiet place for the rest of us.

For me, in over thirty years, the most consistently good restaurant in NY. Great food, unpretentious and friendly. Well aware if it's a pre-theatre meal that you make the curtain. Kudos to Steve Olsen and his Staff. A delicious stop, always.

The crab cake was excellent and the roasted squash appetizer was delicious. The brussel sprouts side dish however was undercooked and too hard. Lovely atmosphere though and comfortable booths. Would return.

first time there, went for pre-theater dinner. Wrote that in notes in open table reservation, confirmed with waiter when being served. With that said, food was not delivered timely, rushed to make theater.

However, the place was very good, service, waiter, food was cooked very well, and the selections were great. For two people, one cocktail, soda\water, split appetizer, two dinner entree's, $95, not quite the $$ rating. But will definitely go there again for dinner.

This restaurant has become part of our annual trip to NYC and we LOVE to eat before a show here.... we split pasta dishes and the tasty veggie sides and the mushroom rice balls and it is the perfect meal before the show! And the DeLuxe Manhattans are delicious!!

Very accommodating. We had an early dinner reservation, and a 1.5 year old, and they allowed us to choose which table would work best for the party/child.

The servers know the menu, and while there aren't a ton of choices, there's something for everyone. They also have a great variety of wine.

It gets very busy pre-theater so definitely make a reservation.

Unfortunately the food was very mediocre. I asked, begged, for my eggs to be cooked well done. Of course it was to much to expect a breakfest cook to fulfill a simple request. Not only were they not well done, they were almost runny. The lemon pancakes were great! The rest of the dishes were bland and cold, obviously a big no no especially for breakfest. The mimosas were good as well.

I had not been to West Bank Cafe in a couple of years. I am glad I returned. The menu is chock-a-block full of appealing items. Food is delicious. Portions are generous. Service is attentive and professional. A friend and I shared many small plates and they were all very good. The dessert menu looks great although this visit we passed on dessert. I look forward to returning.

We were a party of five having pre-theatre dinner. First question our wonderful server asked us was if we were going to a show and what theatre we were going to. Since the theatre was directly across the street, we had plenty of time to have a leisurely dinner. The restaurant is on the small side, but comfortable and the staff was very friendly. My companions opted for the price fix meal, and all had the salmon over lentils which they all liked. A few of them had the carrot ginger soup, which they said was delicious and one had a Caesar salad. The portions were very generous. Being a bit more adventurous, I chose to order the special appetizer, which was a delicious roasted artichoke dish. That was followed by an entree of scallops, which were huge and perfectly cooked, over tiny cubes of butternut squash and potatoes surrounded by a border of two luscious sauces. One was a creamy white sauce and the other one green. I'm so sorry I can't remember exactly what they were, but they were a perfect compliment to the scallops. I was too full for dessert, but my friends enjoyed their chocolate mousse cakes. I would definitely visit The West Bank Cafe again.

West Bank is always my go to in the area. The hostess/host always grants my request to sit in the back room, where it is quiet and cozy. Our server, Austin P was extremly personable, professional and accommodating. The food, as usual was just goth for lunch. We had salads and sandwiches. All delicious.

This was thanksgiving dinner so review is based on there predetermined menu. We chose this restaurant for what they said was “traditional” thanksgiving menu but was sorely dissapointed. The soup was carrot ginger which is in no way traditional. The turkey was dry and hardly any mashed potatoes were given to us. With the gravy added it was good but still very dry. Our reservation was for 7pm so there should not been an issue with food running out but our party of 8 only 3 got pumpkin pie which is what we all wanted. Was not happy with service which I assume was lacking since they had auto gratuity on party of 8. Overall was not impressed.

They ran out of pecan pie for a 6pm dinner reservation. Felt that was strange.

Besides that food & service great.

Second time having thanksgiving dinner there. Last time we were seated downstairs and it was warmer.. . Plus has live music. This year we were seated upstairs and it was too cold. Draft kept coming in by door. They need a hearing vent to push out the cold air Every time someone opens door.

Looking forward to packing up my food & get somewhere warmer with a fireplace or heater blasting somewhere!!! Too cold upstairs.
