West Bank Cafe Ratings and Reviews
West Bank Cafe is a great venue for Signature Theater goers. The staff, hostesses, waiters, busboys are accommodating and actively want you to be happy. They can get you out on time, even when you're running late. The kitchen is serviceable. On our last visit, the burger was splendid, the Rigatoni Bolognese was good and the shrimp was okay. Wine by the glass choices allowed for a wide variety of tastes.
Lovely dinner with a friend before going to the theater. Quiet enough for good conversation, helpful, friendly waiter who provided quick service and made sure we got out in time. We shared and especially loved the freshness of the Tuscan kale & octopus salad and the creamy, dreamy burrata and gorgeous toasted bread. Wild Mushroom Risotto Balls were OK but not as good as expected. Looking forward to trying other dishes the next time around!
Decor and ambience were perfect for my taste. Restroom very clean. Will definitely return and recommend.
West Bank is one of those ultra snob eateries where you re made to feel lucky to have seat there. I love one of their dishes, which is the only reason that I go. But when they make this dish --it always has the same error. So I tell the waiter ahead of time and it always comes with the same error -- it is like talking to a wall. Why - for goodness sake, would you only cook one side of a pancake? And we are talking EVERY TIME. This time I did not even bother to send it back even though I asked to cook both sides ahead of time. And I picked it up with my fork with the waiter there --and he saw it and just walked away. Seriously -- I guess asking for two sided to be cooked on a pancake is similar to asking for a very well done burger. Seriously -- unless you ARE a snob, or want to feel like one --you should pass WB by. The food is fine -- but the atmosphere is simply uncomfortable if you are a "regular" person.
My husband, son, and I had a lovely meal at West Bank Cafe. The risotto balls were truly delicious appetizers we shared, and each of our entrees were perfectly prepared, seasoned, and presented. The wait staff was prompt, courteous, and friendly. I look forward to returning to West Bank when I'm in NYC next.
Always dependable and don't miss the Salmon Tartare with (ask for them) extra chips. Sorry they no longer serve humus with the break but it means I eat less bread so that's a good thing. The skirt steak salad with caramelized onions and blue cheese is super.
I was very impressed with the value of the prix fixed dinner, and the quality of the food and service. I choose the restaurant,as it was near the hotel my friend was staying at. We were seated in an inner small room, which was great for conversion. It was my first time at West Bank Cafe, and will return,if I dine in the Times Square area,
As always a very nice experience - warm, friendly, good service. The food is done well and very tasty. The shrimp scampi were done just right; the pasta al dente and just the right amount. The butternut squash soup was delicious; ingredients in the beet salad were fresh and crisp. The coffee was excellent.
West Bank is one of my top favorite restaurants in NYC. I’ve been going there for well over 20 years. Service, food and ambiance are reasons why I enjoy this restaurant. It’s also located in the 42nd-43rd St. Off-Broadway hub, which means no rushing around to get to any of the shows in that area.
Burgers were decent. We didn't like the brunch menu but that was what they were offering.
We were in a nice quiet area but we were sort of in Siberia when it came to service.
We eat here when we have theater and the location cannot be beat. The prixe fixe dinner time is a great value. So I wouldn't come for brunch again but definitely dinner.
