This restaurant was close to the theater on a cold day when we didn't want to do a lot of walking. Food was tasty; server was very pleasant and efficient. I would return.

Had theater tickets—we let Restaurant know ahead. They were solicitous of our time and our dining experience could not have been better

Very accommodating. We had an early dinner reservation, and a 1.5 year old, and they allowed us to choose which table would work best for the party/child.

The servers know the menu, and while there aren't a ton of choices, there's something for everyone. They also have a great variety of wine.

It gets very busy pre-theater so definitely make a reservation.

Unfortunately the food was very mediocre. I asked, begged, for my eggs to be cooked well done. Of course it was to much to expect a breakfest cook to fulfill a simple request. Not only were they not well done, they were almost runny. The lemon pancakes were great! The rest of the dishes were bland and cold, obviously a big no no especially for breakfest. The mimosas were good as well.

I had not been to West Bank Cafe in a couple of years. I am glad I returned. The menu is chock-a-block full of appealing items. Food is delicious. Portions are generous. Service is attentive and professional. A friend and I shared many small plates and they were all very good. The dessert menu looks great although this visit we passed on dessert. I look forward to returning.

We were a party of five having pre-theatre dinner. First question our wonderful server asked us was if we were going to a show and what theatre we were going to. Since the theatre was directly across the street, we had plenty of time to have a leisurely dinner. The restaurant is on the small side, but comfortable and the staff was very friendly. My companions opted for the price fix meal, and all had the salmon over lentils which they all liked. A few of them had the carrot ginger soup, which they said was delicious and one had a Caesar salad. The portions were very generous. Being a bit more adventurous, I chose to order the special appetizer, which was a delicious roasted artichoke dish. That was followed by an entree of scallops, which were huge and perfectly cooked, over tiny cubes of butternut squash and potatoes surrounded by a border of two luscious sauces. One was a creamy white sauce and the other one green. I'm so sorry I can't remember exactly what they were, but they were a perfect compliment to the scallops. I was too full for dessert, but my friends enjoyed their chocolate mousse cakes. I would definitely visit The West Bank Cafe again.

West Bank is always my go to in the area. The hostess/host always grants my request to sit in the back room, where it is quiet and cozy. Our server, Austin P was extremly personable, professional and accommodating. The food, as usual was just goth for lunch. We had salads and sandwiches. All delicious.

This was thanksgiving dinner so review is based on there predetermined menu. We chose this restaurant for what they said was “traditional” thanksgiving menu but was sorely dissapointed. The soup was carrot ginger which is in no way traditional. The turkey was dry and hardly any mashed potatoes were given to us. With the gravy added it was good but still very dry. Our reservation was for 7pm so there should not been an issue with food running out but our party of 8 only 3 got pumpkin pie which is what we all wanted. Was not happy with service which I assume was lacking since they had auto gratuity on party of 8. Overall was not impressed.

They ran out of pecan pie for a 6pm dinner reservation. Felt that was strange.

Besides that food & service great.

Second time having thanksgiving dinner there. Last time we were seated downstairs and it was warmer.. . Plus has live music. This year we were seated upstairs and it was too cold. Draft kept coming in by door. They need a hearing vent to push out the cold air Every time someone opens door.

Looking forward to packing up my food & get somewhere warmer with a fireplace or heater blasting somewhere!!! Too cold upstairs.

I've been going to this restaurant for years. Now, suddenly, the portions are
tiny, especially my salmon and lentil dish. Even the bread tray is chincy. I
wouldn't go back again. Suddenly it is very pricey for tiny portions. No
thanks.

I' ve been dinning at the West Bank Cafe since May 2001. You can always count on great food for a very reasonable price. This is a neighborhood restaurant, not a tourist hot spot. Which is why I love eating there.

West Bank Cafe is our “go-to” pre-theater place for our Roundabout theater subscription for years! We love the atmosphere, the food and the service which is super sensitive to our 8 pm curtain! Five stars from our group of 4!

We really enjoyed this resturant. We found it through Open Table. Needed a location near 42nd and 8 Ave. This seemed great. Service was great. Very sensitive to timing. We had a show to get to and the resturant was very accommodating. Great for our family.

West Bank Cafe is a great venue for Signature Theater goers. The staff, hostesses, waiters, busboys are accommodating and actively want you to be happy. They can get you out on time, even when you're running late. The kitchen is serviceable. On our last visit, the burger was splendid, the Rigatoni Bolognese was good and the shrimp was okay. Wine by the glass choices allowed for a wide variety of tastes.

Was very disappointed. The quality of the food has gone down. Over salted fries, burger a hockey puck, salmon tartare chewy and inedible. What’s going on?

Lovely dinner with a friend before going to the theater. Quiet enough for good conversation, helpful, friendly waiter who provided quick service and made sure we got out in time. We shared and especially loved the freshness of the Tuscan kale & octopus salad and the creamy, dreamy burrata and gorgeous toasted bread. Wild Mushroom Risotto Balls were OK but not as good as expected. Looking forward to trying other dishes the next time around!

Decor and ambience were perfect for my taste. Restroom very clean. Will definitely return and recommend.

West Bank is one of those ultra snob eateries where you re made to feel lucky to have seat there. I love one of their dishes, which is the only reason that I go. But when they make this dish --it always has the same error. So I tell the waiter ahead of time and it always comes with the same error -- it is like talking to a wall. Why - for goodness sake, would you only cook one side of a pancake? And we are talking EVERY TIME. This time I did not even bother to send it back even though I asked to cook both sides ahead of time. And I picked it up with my fork with the waiter there --and he saw it and just walked away. Seriously -- I guess asking for two sided to be cooked on a pancake is similar to asking for a very well done burger. Seriously -- unless you ARE a snob, or want to feel like one --you should pass WB by. The food is fine -- but the atmosphere is simply uncomfortable if you are a "regular" person.

My husband, son, and I had a lovely meal at West Bank Cafe. The risotto balls were truly delicious appetizers we shared, and each of our entrees were perfectly prepared, seasoned, and presented. The wait staff was prompt, courteous, and friendly. I look forward to returning to West Bank when I'm in NYC next.

Always dependable and don't miss the Salmon Tartare with (ask for them) extra chips. Sorry they no longer serve humus with the break but it means I eat less bread so that's a good thing. The skirt steak salad with caramelized onions and blue cheese is super.
