West 29th Ratings and Reviews
The butternut squash ravioli appetizer was delicious. Vegetarian lasagna was also good, as was the bone-in pork chop. Pretty basic menu with a few creative dishes. We had the pumpkin roll for dessert, which was new for the season and also very tasty. Service was good.
I found this little up scale place about a year ago. I love coming here for special occasions with my wife. To me this place has the look and feel of 5 star restaurant without the 5 star price (i would rate this as median price range compared to other places). All I can say is that i love this place. Oh did i mention they have a great bar and know how to make a great old fashioned.
One of my Favorite spots to Eat around the Highlands is West 29th!!! Great food and good service. This is a neighborhood Gem for sure!! Good Prices allow for nice creative meals and good atmosphere with friends with out putting a burden on your wallet. Good service and a nice wine list too West 29th also makes great cocktails!
The food is truly amazing with a refreshing menu. Wait staff are always exceptional and make you feel like you are truly their favorite customer. During our last visit the bar was being used for an engagement party and the restaurant was packed. The noise level was high which we’ve never experienced before. This was a Saturday night and we usually come during the week. Wouldn’t keep us from coming back but just a note for anyone wanting a quiet/romantic Saturday evening dinner out.
The patio was great. Inside was too cool - I would have needed a very warm jacket. Our brunch food was excellent. I had been wanting to try West 29th, and was pleased that it was very good. The only reason I did not rate the food with 5 stars is that the cheesecake had the taste of onion. Being that I cannot digest raw or undercooked onion, this was a problem. My friend noticed the face I made when I took my first bite. I tried a small taste again to be sure I wasn't imagining the onion flavor. No, the onion flavor was real. I will return to West 29th, but will ask for a taste of cheesecake before ordering it. The cheesecake portion was generous, and very thick, just the way I like it. My Portobello benedict was superb - excellent hollandaise! A little onion won't keep me away.
My 2 guests enjoyed their meals of Salmon Benedict and an omelette very much and agreed they would recommend 29th Avenue Restaurant to family and friends. I ordered French toast which was advertised as being made with Texas toast - unfortunately, it seemed to be made with sandwich bread. It was soggy yet burned. I was disappointed in it.
The service was good, the ambiance very appealing and I guess 2 out of 3 good meals is somewhat acceptable. I was at 29th Avenue Restaurant on September 9 and the food was delicious and attractively displayed.
This place truly is a neighborhood gem! Too bad it's not closer to our neighborhood. We drive 30 minutes to have dinner here and have never been disappointed. The four of enjoyed the pork chop, hamburger and 2 pasta dishes. Each was outstanding! We had dinner on Saturday night and then went back Sunday morning for breakfast! Highly recommend.
The menu is not extensive, but what it offers is excellent. The service was prompt, friendly, very accommodating. The place itself is very pleasant, lots of wood, big windows facing west. Nice patio areas for those who like to dine outside. Great ambience. Highly recommended.
Our group enjoyed their drinks, meals and desserts. Very nice staff with very prompt attention. Pleasant dining on the patio which was near capacity most of the evening but enjoyable and not over crowded. My steak was very good. The stroganoff and shrimp dishes were good also.
Excellent service from the minute we entered the restaurant until we said our goodbyes. The food was very good and the ambiance acceptable. Would go back anytime. Wish they were open for lunch. Wheat Ridge doesn't have enough quality restaurants for lunch. Prices excellent.
We were on the patio, which was noisy tonight due to neighbor parking lot work being done. No fault of the restaurant and couldn't be helped.
Waited a long time for food but the wait staff person was wonderful, attentive and made up for delays in several pleasant ways. Always great wait staff and great food. No real disappointment. All good!
West 29 is one of our "go to" dinner spots. We can always count on great food with good service. Wednesday night is half price wine night giving us a chance to order that $60 bottle for just $30. We again ordered the meat and cheese plate as an appetizer. This time we felt that the plate served was smaller, as it was not as shareable for four persons as before.
Went Thursday evening for food, drink and jazz
Maggie, our server, was outstanding, as usual.
The calamari was doughy and not crisp.
The vegetable lasagna and shrimp fettuccine was outstanding.
Beers, wine and sangria very good.
Jazz trio not our style and not as good as the jazz band last year.
