West 29th Ratings and Reviews
West 29 is one of our "go to" dinner spots. We can always count on great food with good service. Wednesday night is half price wine night giving us a chance to order that $60 bottle for just $30. We again ordered the meat and cheese plate as an appetizer. This time we felt that the plate served was smaller, as it was not as shareable for four persons as before.
Went Thursday evening for food, drink and jazz
Maggie, our server, was outstanding, as usual.
The calamari was doughy and not crisp.
The vegetable lasagna and shrimp fettuccine was outstanding.
Beers, wine and sangria very good.
Jazz trio not our style and not as good as the jazz band last year.
Though we had a reservation, I neglected to mention that we wanted to sit outside on the wonderful patio. Indoors is dark and over air-conditioned, which while nice, isn't nearly as nice as the patio. Be sure to request patio seating! The drinks and food continued to be excellent-- well-prepared and beautifully presented. THe menu feels a little pedestrian to read, and while the appetizers, salads and desserts won't blow you away, the main courses will. A successful and tasty second trip-- we'll be back, on the patio!
Food was awesome! I had Croque Madame for brunch...it was amazing! Service was horrible:-( I couldn't tell if it was just our server or what, but we waited at least 20 minutes before we were waited on. In fact the table right next to us was still eating when we got there, finished, paid, left, a new group came and was being waited on, before we had anyone show up.... I'm hoping it was just the one server!
I have been to this restaurant three times now, and everything we have ordered has been outstanding. So far, we have split appetizers, salads and desserts, and have loved the unusual flavors and tastes. Our waitress the other night was friendly, helpful and provided outstanding service, keeping our beverage glasses full and regularly checking back with us.
Fantastic food, great bussers and hostess, okay waitress, awesome ambiance .... Just can't believe they charge for an extra plate (we like to share food with our toddler) and there was an up charge to replace meat side with fruit ... Since when does fruit cost more than bacon or sausage? We'll be back because of the amazing quality of food and truly amazing patio, but honestly, we would go there almost every week if they were just more vegetarian friendly.
West 29th has to be one of the best neighborhood restaurants in the Denver area. We go there, and we don't even live in the neighborhood. It is not particularly prepossessing, but it is warm and comfortable. The wait staff are eager to please. Our meals were delicious. The wine list is priceworthy. What's not to love?
Have been there twice and have been very satisfied both times. Food is great, service is awesome, and the ambiance is perfect for meeting with friends. I prefer the outside patio, but that was not available this last time. I'll have to reserve a table outside next time I go.
What a wonderful surprise. We were visiting from Scottsdale and went out for a late dinner on my Bday with family. Excellent atmosphere, very good food/ drinks and pleasant service staff. Wonderful place for dinner where you can actually have a conversation with the rest of your party without having to fight the noise. Many gluten free and vegan options on the menu , exceptional patio and no fighting for a parking space. We'll be back!!
The quality of food was excellent, I had the Beef Stroganoff Gargonzola which exceeding my expectations; however, the portion was a little small and should have been larger, or included a house salad or bread. My wife had Fish and Chips and complained that she was still hungry after eating.
The front outside patio is lovely. Beautiful plants surround the perimeter. The service was good. The food was beautifully presented and yummy. The only problem was the live music was too loud. The musicians were very talented. We could not hear each other without leaning forward.
We enjoyed the friendly hospitality from entering the establishment to the time we departed. We found the food to be rich and interesting flavors. Prices were reasonable for the quality and level of service provided. Yes, we look forward to our next experience at West 29th.
