We have been there twice in recent months. Had the same server both times (he is awesome). I would like to see the menu expanded. Very limited on choices, but other than that, it was fantastic.
Great food, wonderful service - a local gem.
We are pleased that we are never disappointed here.
Always a pleasure - great food and wonderful service in a quaint environment.
Continues to be a comfortable restaurant, good food, good service, good value. Look forward to a return.
Although we will go back to this restaurant, the food is just average, and the steak is overpriced. Was extremely loud, but it was peak time, so that's to be expected.
Everything was great, but it was a little noisy and hard to converse. We were seated in the middle of the dining room, so that may have accounted for the extra noise.
West 29th wasn’t as packed as our other visits. Service was still well-paced & efficient. Food great as always... we haven’t ordered anything we didn’t thoroughly enjoy, we’re trying to make our way through their menu... stroganoff & pork loin this time... yummy!
All four of us enjoyed our meals The staff was excellent. Looking forward to warmer weather and enoying the beautiful outdoor dining patios.
The food is so good, i just wish there could be a few more items.
A hidden gem. All our choices were outstanding. Don't miss the mussels. Excellent wait staff
It’s always fun to introduce friends to this hidden gem. The service is excellent & very friendly. The food is a delight. I had heard that the vegetarian dishes were excellent so finally tried the lasagna. I couldn’t have been more delighted. Our guests were impressed with every part of the evening which started with a half hour in the bar & ended with a special dessert of deep fried brownies with ice cream & Carmel!
Eric, our server not only brought back 3 cups of coffee to make sure it was hot enough - (as part of a drink) for one of my guests, but he followed me out of the restaurant with my leftover box - so thoughtful!!
As we age, it seems noise in a restaurant is the hardest to tolerate. We were pleased that we could converse without shouting at each other!
Was there for Sunday brunch. Arrived at noon. They were already out of advertised cinnamon rolls. I ordered bottomless mimosas and the restaurant ran out of champagne after I had just one. Waited over an hour for any food and it was not even warm. Had to ask server each time we needed a beverage refill. She made very few appearances. Have been there before but will NEVER go back!
Hi Joyce, We apologize that you had a negative experience at Sunday brunch. As a small, family owned restaurant that makes everything from scratch, we do run out of items occasionally during our busier shifts. Your ticket was rushed and brought to you as soon as humanely possible. At the end of the day, your meal was completely comped. Again, we apologize, but if you never come back we won't be able to make it up to you (:
I've been to West 29th a few times for brunch and have always had good service and good food, but my recent experience was sub-par. Our server was not attentive, forgot part of our order and then failed to tell us that they ran out of champagne after we ordered the bottomless mimosas. She then tried to charge us for 2 mimosas which she reversed after speaking the the manager.
The restaurant wasn’t even half full and service was very slow literally from the moment we walked in the door and no one greeted us. Hostess was running drink orders. Our hot drinks came out lukewarm, as did the food. My croque madam wasn’t great, the French toast was soggy and mushy, but my friend really enjoyed her salmon eggs Benedict. The server was kind, attentive, and apologetic. Turns out our food was waiting at the pass and the tickets got screwed or something. Anyway, I’d go back and try something else.
W29th is always a joy to visit, the food and Menu are always tasty and Inspiring . Food portions are perfect size, always well staffed and great service. This is our go to restaurant .
We arrived early for our reservation to have a drink in the bar. I think they forgot about us. I asked about our table about 20 minutes after our reservation & we were seated immediately.
It is always excellent. What more can I say? This is a wonderful gem.
Great food and great service.
Great little date place, upscale but not annoyingly fancy.
I was really looking forward to dining at West 29th for my first visit but the food left me less than impressed. There were several issues with the way our items were cooked and prepared. Our server was very attentive and did she she could to make up for the shortcomings on the food. Will likely not come back.
What a lovely surprise! We all thoroughly enjoyed our food, the fireplace was a very welcome addition to our late breakfast and we were able to enjoy each others company at our leisure.
Food was fantastic. Felt like service was a little...unorganized the night we went. Can’t stress enough, the food was fantastic. My wife and I cleared our plates.
As always, West 29th was a fabulous dining experience. Food was fresh, amazing and prepared in a healthy lifestyle manner. Ambiance perfect! Attentive staff. We will be back soon and love sharing it with our clients and friends!!
I have been here many times before - however this was a terrible night. We were in a party of 4. Two entrees were brought out cold. One was entirely wrong - instead of a hamburger, the waitress put in for a pork entree. The entree was brought to this person late after everyone else, had finished their entrees. After the initial orders were placed and a long wait, the waitress came back and stated that we could not have the Caesar salads because they were out. Waiting time for the food preparation was long. No apologies - honestly a very dismal time. I honestly don’t know if I will go back.
Fabulous food! Great drinks! Great, cute, fun spot!
We have eaten here several times. The food and service are always spot on.
Great service. Had a nice wine at a decent price. Reviews on entrees ranged from 'not so Ultimate' to OK, with one excellent. I will definitely select different item on any future visit.
Usually go here for brunch when I forgot to make reservations somewhere else? It’s never super busy which is weird because the breakfast is great. I’ve been there at least 5 times with no wait so that’s a plus!
Cozy atmosphere, excellent service and home made food in the neighborhood.
West 29th is wonderful. But your reservation service is pretty poor. And this is not the first time. Gave up and called West 29th myself. I sent you a message about this problem.
Have been here for brunch, lunch and dinner. Really enjoy this restaurant.
Had our Valentines dinner at West 29th. Excellent food and service as always. One of my favorite places for dinner or just drinks with friends.
As always, amazing service, food and atmosphere. Favorite neighborhood restaurant— consistently outstanding!!!
Love going to this place every Valentine’s Day! So good
Very impressed with the outdoor look of the restaurant. Very cozy and clean and well run. The food was outstanding. The salmon meal and the scallop meal was fabulous. The breadsticks were excellent. My husband and I will definitely be back. Hats off to the chefs.
Great place for an early Valentine's dinner, especially since it turned out that Wednesday night dinners include half price bottles of wine! So we had a fabulous Merlot. In Colorado, you are allowed to take home the leftover wine in a wine "doggy bag!" Nice touch. BUT they never seem to read my special request for a table in a quieter corner or along the side of the room. I'm going to start calling them an hour before the reservation to ask again.
It was a good experience for our group-good food, great staff, and a most pleasant evening.
