   This is the 3rd time I've been to this restaurant. The first two times, my friends and I sat in the dining room and had excellent service. The trout (1st time) and salmon (2nd time) were fantastic entrees! This 3rd time my husband and I dined at a high top table in the bar/lounge area. The ambiance is wonderful. This is such a pretty restaurant, and very comfortable. Our server forgot to put the order in for our Caesar salad. Our entrees arrived and we were so surprised because they came so soon after we ordered. The person bringing the entrees said he'd take the salad off our bill and then our server came and apologized, saying he forgot to put the salad order in. We appreciated his honesty and taking responsibility which means a lot. I was disappointed not to be able to have the mussels as they were already sold out when we ordered. My husband said the fish and chips were great, but the coleslaw could have been much more inspired and a bottle of malt vinegar should have been offered to be true to the British style. My eggplant parmesan was delicious and would only recommend some crusty Italian bread to accompany it. My husband was glad to see Guinness on tap, but would have liked one more dark beer option. To be fair, many Denver metro area restaurants fail to offer dark beers or offer just one selection, so again, it was good to see Guinness draft. We plan to return, as the restaurant is truly appealing.

   4 of us had a great meal last night. The food was delicious and the prices are very reasonable. My husband and I shared a salad first and even the half was plenty to eat.I had the vegetarian lasagna and it was terrific. And I am not a vegetarian. It is a lovely restaurant and we will for sure be back to sit on the patio this summer.

   Our group had the absolute best time! The staff was VERY accommodating. The service was outstanding, and the food was incredible! Would recommend for any special event or just a nice meal with friends & family.

   We had an enjoyable dinner and the service was friendly and efficient. We ate on the early side, and they were already out of several of the dishes we were interested in. Cocktails were delicious; the food was perhaps slightly above average. Menu was small and there didn’t appear to be any specials for the evening (at least none that were conveyed to us). There’s a lovely outdoor seating area (too cold when we ate there) and I’d return to sit there. In all it was a solid experience.

   Perfect. Had a business dinner, my guest is a bit particular... the staff rose to the occasion, took on the challenge and knocked it out of the park. Great dinner, great service. Highly recommend.

   I fell in love with the Gorgonzola Stroganoff years ago, on par with the type of comfort and flavor that comes from your mothers kitchen. After having just moved back to Denver I couldn't wait to return. I was skeptical that after all this time it may have "fell-off" but this place continues to impress me. We ordered the Stroganoff for the nostalgia, and the Beef Wellington special, both cooked perfectly with immense flavor. The cauliflower purée was incredible and dessert is a must!

    Have been here multiple times over the last 5+ years and have never been disappointed. Staff really knows their menu and are all friendly and helpful. Food and drinks are always tasty. I love the ambiance of the dining room - especially with a fire in the fireplace it's like being at a ski resort in the city.

    I tried a new beef dish on the menu. Bit was quite tasty with the exception of a but too strong in the herb flavouring. We love the homey atmosphere which make West 29 a favorite place. We were served by Eric. He was prompt, friendly ,and overall one of the highlights of our experience.

    Super expensive for what you get. $9 well drinks $26 pork chop then an additional 3% charge for kitchen staff plus you have to make your reservation with a credit card. Make the short drive to Denver highlands to get better food and better value.

    West 29thResponded on February 24, 2023I'm sad to hear you had a less than stellar experience (98% of our reviews are 5 Star) We stock what most bars consider calls in our well, and most of our guests find this a great value. We are also a made-from-scratch kitchen using mostly locally sourced ingredients and direct gratuity to our chefs to reflect this. There ARE cheaper restaurants out there, but our goal is to provide quality meals at a fair price and are happy to amend any dissatisfaction should it be brought to our attention.

    Hey there, we stopped in for dinner on Valentine’s Day. We had perused the regular menu early and saw that it had been replaced with a special Valentine’s Day menu. It look like it had some interesting stuff on it, but was not what we had planned on ordering, however, they were gracious enough to let us order from the regular menu. The food that I had was wonderful . The mussels appetizer with the Thai broth was some of the best I’ve ever had. My braised short rib over polenta was delicious. The crème brûlée for dessert was large and tasty. The wine selections were good. From start to finish, our server, Eric provided excellent service.

    Our first time here and really enjoyed the ambiance. Service was prompt and friendly. It was a Prix Fixe menu because of Valentine's Day but it had plenty of choices and seemed reasonably priced.

    Great place for a wonderful ambiance and food experience. We did have some issues with our waitress who told us that she was not going to bug us anymore and will leave us alone. She had dropped off our apps, and I felt like she shouldn't be 'leaving us alone'. Everything else was great.

    Fantastic! Been a while since we have been and wanted an intimate but laid back restaurant. Did not disappoint again. This local place has great drinks and amazing food. Service was excellent! Would highly recommend.

    This was our third visit to the restaurant, and although I still rated it high, we were a bit disappointed with this visit. Our server was not especially attentive and we needed to flag him down several different times to get drinks etc. They were busy and it did look like he was the only one taking care of the front part of the restaurant, which if true, was unfortunate. One in our party ordered the steak and it was very fatty. Disappointing for a restaurant bill that, for 4 people was nearly $400.00

    Nice, comfy dining at a high table in the bar section, enjoying a very tasty selection of menu preparations (yummy mussels as an appetizer, with a very delicious, featured pork chop and a spicy chicken for entrees). An example of adult dining at its best! So fortunate to keep West 29th in our dining rotation. Thanks to creativity of the chef & kitchen, and the genuine support of the bar and dining staff!

    Had an early dinner for NYE and to celebrate hubby's Birthday with friends. Was able to book the day of, which was great. Server Brandly (sp?) was awesome and the food and drink did not disappoint! We don't come here enough, but have always had great experiences.

    Everything about the 29st Cafe was five star. The ambiance was warm and inviting. Our server, Bradley was charming and helpful! The food!!!! It was excellent and very reasonably priced, I will definitely become a regular patron.

    We came here for the first time to have dinner on Christmas Eve. We usually head back East to be with family but couldn’t make it back this year, so it was important for us to find a restaurant that felt warm, cozy, inviting, and of course had good food. Let me tell you, it was difficult to find “cozy” in Denver, but we finally did!! Unfortunately, we were too late to get a table in the main dining room, but the bar area was just as enjoyable.

    Food, service, ambiance was all perfect. It was Prime Rib night and the server brought me extra horseradish sauce, making my meal perfect and uninterrupted. Husband has his favorite: Eggplant Parmesan and it was delicious. It was a cold, snowy night, the place was packed, but the service was perfectly timed. The chocolate dessert was enough to share and really tasty. West 29th is our GO-TO place every season of the year.
