Was there for Sunday brunch. Arrived at noon. They were already out of advertised cinnamon rolls. I ordered bottomless mimosas and the restaurant ran out of champagne after I had just one. Waited over an hour for any food and it was not even warm. Had to ask server each time we needed a beverage refill. She made very few appearances. Have been there before but will NEVER go back!
I've been to West 29th a few times for brunch and have always had good service and good food, but my recent experience was sub-par. Our server was not attentive, forgot part of our order and then failed to tell us that they ran out of champagne after we ordered the bottomless mimosas. She then tried to charge us for 2 mimosas which she reversed after speaking the the manager.
The restaurant wasn’t even half full and service was very slow literally from the moment we walked in the door and no one greeted us. Hostess was running drink orders. Our hot drinks came out lukewarm, as did the food. My croque madam wasn’t great, the French toast was soggy and mushy, but my friend really enjoyed her salmon eggs Benedict. The server was kind, attentive, and apologetic. Turns out our food was waiting at the pass and the tickets got screwed or something. Anyway, I’d go back and try something else.
W29th is always a joy to visit, the food and Menu are always tasty and Inspiring . Food portions are perfect size, always well staffed and great service. This is our go to restaurant .
We arrived early for our reservation to have a drink in the bar. I think they forgot about us. I asked about our table about 20 minutes after our reservation & we were seated immediately.
It is always excellent. What more can I say? This is a wonderful gem.
Great food and great service.
Great little date place, upscale but not annoyingly fancy.
I was really looking forward to dining at West 29th for my first visit but the food left me less than impressed. There were several issues with the way our items were cooked and prepared. Our server was very attentive and did she she could to make up for the shortcomings on the food. Will likely not come back.
What a lovely surprise! We all thoroughly enjoyed our food, the fireplace was a very welcome addition to our late breakfast and we were able to enjoy each others company at our leisure.
Food was fantastic. Felt like service was a little...unorganized the night we went. Can’t stress enough, the food was fantastic. My wife and I cleared our plates.
As always, West 29th was a fabulous dining experience. Food was fresh, amazing and prepared in a healthy lifestyle manner. Ambiance perfect! Attentive staff. We will be back soon and love sharing it with our clients and friends!!
I have been here many times before - however this was a terrible night. We were in a party of 4. Two entrees were brought out cold. One was entirely wrong - instead of a hamburger, the waitress put in for a pork entree. The entree was brought to this person late after everyone else, had finished their entrees. After the initial orders were placed and a long wait, the waitress came back and stated that we could not have the Caesar salads because they were out. Waiting time for the food preparation was long. No apologies - honestly a very dismal time. I honestly don’t know if I will go back.
Fabulous food! Great drinks! Great, cute, fun spot!
We have eaten here several times. The food and service are always spot on.
Great service. Had a nice wine at a decent price. Reviews on entrees ranged from 'not so Ultimate' to OK, with one excellent. I will definitely select different item on any future visit.
Cozy atmosphere, excellent service and home made food in the neighborhood.
West 29th is wonderful. But your reservation service is pretty poor. And this is not the first time. Gave up and called West 29th myself. I sent you a message about this problem.
Have been here for brunch, lunch and dinner. Really enjoy this restaurant.
Had our Valentines dinner at West 29th. Excellent food and service as always. One of my favorite places for dinner or just drinks with friends.
As always, amazing service, food and atmosphere. Favorite neighborhood restaurant— consistently outstanding!!!
Love going to this place every Valentine’s Day! So good
Very impressed with the outdoor look of the restaurant. Very cozy and clean and well run. The food was outstanding. The salmon meal and the scallop meal was fabulous. The breadsticks were excellent. My husband and I will definitely be back. Hats off to the chefs.
Great place for an early Valentine's dinner, especially since it turned out that Wednesday night dinners include half price bottles of wine! So we had a fabulous Merlot. In Colorado, you are allowed to take home the leftover wine in a wine "doggy bag!" Nice touch. BUT they never seem to read my special request for a table in a quieter corner or along the side of the room. I'm going to start calling them an hour before the reservation to ask again.
It was a good experience for our group-good food, great staff, and a most pleasant evening.
We both enjoyed this experience of a new place to us which had been recommended. It did not disappoint. It's a step above in all respects, from the waitperson, Ariel, to the food to the atmosphere. Nice to be able to sit and talk and actually hear what the person across the table is saying. Refreshing to say the least.
Thanks for asking for this review.
It was our first time. I had the Duck Breast and my husband had the trout. Both where delicious. I loved the fire place and the entire ambiance is cozy and inviting. Also I enjoyed being able to hear and understand the conversation around the table. I loved the music and the fact that was not loud. Nothing negative to report. I look forward going back when the patios are open.
An excellent neighborhood restaurant & bar. Very friendly with a great neighborhood atmosphere. The food was outstanding. Chef Cory is very creative and his culinary skills are tops. Would highly recommend West 29th.
One of my favorite places! Love the restaurant, food, service, everything! Highly recommend.
We have eaten here 5 times. Good is always well prepared and the wait persons attentive. Good value.
The food is always tasty. But the draw for me is weekend brunch. They have a featured crepe every weekend and it's always good.
Been here 3 times in last year. Great for a medium group if you make a reservation. Like the menu and the ambiance.
Excellent food! I had the pork loin dinner -just superb! Tender and perfect! My husband had the chicken special which he loved! We will be back for sure!
Food and service were excellent. The dining room was busy and super loud. Next time we may try a high top in the bar.
PS. We love this place!
We’ve been looking for a locally-owned quiet restaurant that offers downtown-quality food without downtown prices. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive without being overly intrusive. We enjoyed a three course meal - the calamari was delicious (though I’ll ask for the sauce on the side next time), the steak was perfectly cooked, the Swedish meatball special was flavorful (though sub for fettuccine instead of the rice!), and the creme brûlée was creamy and perfectly torched. Wine prices are reasonable, too! We will definitely be back.
Lovely Neighborhood Find! Food was excellent and the service was good.
Delicious food, warm fire, attentive service. We will return!
Fantastic, relaxing evening with friends - food was good, delivered nicely, space was great
Loved the fact that you could enjoy dinner with friends and actually not have to fight loud music and a noisy restaurant in order to have a conversation. Really like this restaurant and the food is consistent and always good. My only negative would be that they need a better selection of wines by the glass. Very nice employees and great service.
The food was goood. But the dessert took longer than the follow d to come out. Our server was ok. Not very attentive at the end of our meal. I had the mashed potatoes and for my liking way too much garlic. But our party loved their food. I thought the dessert was too expensive
