Went out with friends for dinner. They had been a few times and enjoyed it but we were unimpressed. Overall, the food was not very impressive, much of it lacked seasoning and was uninspiring. Dishes were fairly expensive for how the food tasted. The restaurant was incredibly cold where we were sitting - on the main floor not far from the entrance. Our server didn’t seem to care much that we weren’t comfortable and wasn’t very attentive throughout the night. Bourbon selection was decent and my wife’s cocktail was done well. Expensive outing and disappointing. Won’t be back.
My family came to visit me this Christmas and I decided to celebrate New Year's Eve here. I regret that decision, although food and service was good, the music in the restaurant was way too loud, we could not talk and we did not enjoy our dinner. Furthermore, it was very crowdy with people standing in the middle, between the tables, we felt very uncomfortable.
If you want a place to have a drink and party I guess it is perfect but for a special dinner with your family is not a good choice.
We went for New Years. The service was great as with the atmosphere. The food was satisfactory. The salad and dessert were the best part.
Food is was good and the atmosphere was great.
Wonderful service by Tara and the rest of WestStaff! Pick a few items to share once you choose a well-crafted cocktail. Great French / Western vibe!
Love the ambience and food quality; there was an uncomfortable draft coming from the door and the yellow doors themselves are very heavy and hard to open, misleading if you’re trying to just walk-in, one could think they’re closed.
We invited a bunch on friends to get together for a little holiday brunch. The service was amazing and the food was beyond delicious. I had no idea the brunch menu was as good as it was. I left wanting more. The flavors and portions where well worth the amount on the menu.
My concierge team at Two St Thomas will have to recommend this as a great brunch spot to all our private residents. I’m looking forward to going back.
All in all a great place. My wife and I took my parents here for a 6:45pm dinner on a Saturday.
Came for brunch on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was only 1/3 occupied, however it took them a good 8-10min before a server came by and acknowledge us. First of all, they mixed up our drinks order and didn't even apologize, instead said some stupid thing like 'ok I'll drink this myself!' They kept looking at us not in a friendly way when they correct their pc on the order. When server brought back the correct drinks, he was giving us some bad tude and kinda mean. Food came fairly quickly, taste ok, nothing outstanding. During the whole meal, no one bother to came check how we are doing. Overall, I won't come back to this place if service level is like that, regardless of how beautiful their interior decor are, and the food was just so-so with this high price tag.
There were four in my group for Sunday brunch. I’d been to Weslodge for dinner and had a spectacular meal. Brunch was very tasty. The buttermilk pancakes with apple were the top pick. I had Smoked Trout Eggs Benedict with Lamb Bacon. Delicious! A slightly heavier and savoury tasting hollandaise, but it worked. Two people had the Mushrooms on Toast, which included poached eggs and chanterelles. For people who love wild mushrooms, order this dish!
We had good, attentive service. My only complaint is the noise level. It’s not a quiet, intimate place. I had the same experience with dinner, except there was loud music accompanying the chatter. For me, the food and overall dining experience compensates for the noise.
