I suggest sitting in the room with the bar or outside if you want to hear your table companions. Noise is almost unbearable in that back dining room. Food exceptable except steak which is cooked with so many garlic cloves you can't taste the meat. The lobster chowder was to die for.
Chilean sea bass is awesome.
First time visitor, along with three first-time friends. We absolutely LOVED it. Food was great, waitress was great, FOOD WAS GREAT! Especially nice was that we took our time, ate lots of food (while all was delicious, the garlic bread was phenomenal), and never felt rushed. After our waitress realized we were there for a lot of conversation, she slowed down the service (a complaint by other reviewers), and let us visit. By the time we left, we had been there for four hours - right through the delicious dessert!!! GO THERE, spend some money, and enjoy the food!
Pretty good, casual restaurant. Good food. This is my second time there for brunch and it has been pleasant both times.
On a Saturday night it took us over an hour, from the time we arrived(on time for our reservation), to receive our food. It was worth the wait because the food was very good, but don’t go there if you are in a hurry.
We had early 4:30pm Sat reservations; service was very smooth and quick at this time, and we could hear the great recorded music (until 6pm when the restaurant started to fill up.) Décor has been upgraded to warm tones for a relaxing atmosphere. The bar area on entrance side very nice (TVs for sports); large doors open to outside on warm weather nights.
One exception was in desserts: there was not a dairy-free option, such as fruit sorbet. Regular coffee was French roast and very flavorful (which was a good thing since they do not have expresso drinks.)
Waitress extremely nice and professional but was constrained with one bartender which backed up drinks for 30 minutes and kitchen service slow as well. The food, once it came out was delicious. Pork chop the best I ever ate. I will go back again if bar service seems normal.
Happy hour menu is a great value. Wait staff very friendly and efficient.
Had to wait for 75 minutes for our food. Food was ok but not worth the wait. Staff did not seem to care that we had to wait so long. The restaurant has gone way down in service and the food quality is not what it used to be. The restaurant can’t keep up with their business.
This place is amazing!!! The food is 11/10. The atmosphere, service, wine, desserts, everything. Can't wait to go back.
We had a reservation and were seated immediately-table had Reserved Sign on it. Jackie, the server, was very attentive and helpful for recommendations. The king salmon, and lobster fettucini, were excellent. Lobster soup is!!! Portions are healthy, and well presented. Since this was a birthday, we wanted great, and we were not disappointed! We come here frequently, sometimes the place may be a bit noisy, but not this time.
Amazing as always!
Foodie Alert, I am not impressed, but it's 'fine'. This is a seemingly well-received spot and by no means was it awful. But as a foodie, it fell short. So take this review with that filter on, I typically try to do Brunch in Napa etc. I ordered a Crab eggs benedict & a pancake on the side. I told the waitress that my eggs can be cooked through, as long as they weren't UNDER done, I was fine. The first time, the plate came out with cut cilantro on top of my benedict. It seems really odd to me that SUCH a strong flavor (That is hated by many & not considered a breakfast flavor) would be there & felt terrible that I didn't know but had to send it back (after I removed it I still smelled it in my eggs & I'm passionately against it). I apologized a few times for 'not thinking' about it being on my breakfast.
They brought out my 2nd plate after a short while and the eggs were SO under-done they had clear whites in them.
I was never asked, by ANY of the staff if my breakfast was ok. Not once. I kept waiting, not wanting to like, grab someone before they had the chance to check in. But in the end I ended up not eating it and they took my plate without asking if it was ok.
The english muffin was not toasted and a little pale and blah compared to the many other times i've had benedict breakfasts. The potatoes are actually coated in 'mexican' seasoning and somehow that red/oily/spicy concoction ended up on the bottom side of my pancake (which was on a totally separate plate). Not super appetizing.
My dates filet benedict had hollandaise that was also a bright orangey-red and spicy (mexican), not true hollandaise which was kind of a bummer.
Overall, this is clearly a mexican joint trying to do new-american food & for ME, it didn't work. I'm ALL about mexican food but it wasn't that either.
The space inside is HUGE, and the decor reminded me a bit of a Cheesecake Factory. I'll look for something a little more authentic/independent/fresh next time.
The area was very calm and nice. We enjoyed the time and foods there. The foods were so delicious! :)
First time here, the foods was good. I ordered the King Salmon and it was cooked perfectly. My sis ordered the lobster tacos and she they were delicious. Service was very good, always there when you needed someone.
This was our third time coming here and haven’t been disappointed once. We think we have found our new restaurant for my friends and I to enjoy our Monday nights off. We have been trying to go out in groups of 6 or more to go down the line of the great menu but we still keep going back to the same great options. Love the scallops and the cioppino.
My wife and I visited Wence's for the first time for an early Sunday dinner before a classic movie showing at the cinema. We were seated immediately and the service was great from start to finish.
The overall dining experience was great too. We shared the artichoke appetizer and wedge salad and both were yummy. My wife had the house white wine with the salmon which she said was excellent. I had a zinfandel with the filet mignon and the steak was deliciously tender and expertly prepared.
We both had coffee after the meal and shared the beignets which were soooo good. I liked them as much or more than those we had at Café du Monde in New Orleans.
We will return!
Incredible food and great service. A hidden gem in a strip mall
one of my favorite restaurants in the area. the food and service are always great!
Very good experience
Well, was disappointed in a recent outing to Wence's for a special birthday dinner. We were cordially greeted, and the restaurant looked lovely. However, the service was off, and the food was lackluster. The server never cleared our wine glasses (not used), and we had to ask him to get rid of our appetizer plates also, on a very cluttered table. But it was the food that just wasn't great. Caesar salad was watery, chicken scalloppini, dry and over-cooked. Jambalaya tasted off, and the huckleberry-pear crisp had too much ginger in it. Had been there before and liked it, but had the steak before.
Very much enjoyed the brunch! Food was very good. Service a bit slow and it wasn't that busy. Had to wait a while for a coffee refill. Overall very nice place and good food.
Too noisy should have something in the ceilings to obstruct the noise.
Service spotty. Waiter David had too much else going on to pay attention. Food was delivered cold. Eggs Benedict was lukewarm and we kept having to ask assistant for everything. She did not speak english very well but was helpful. Brunch was tasty but because it was lukewarm to cold very disappointing. This was our first time there and most likely last. Very very slow service. Waited 15 minutes before acknowledged and at that moment not busy.
High quality lunch but we happened to be there when there was a loud party. We’ll be back to try again.
We have eaten at Wence's more than 15 times and they do a great job with the food and service. The menu has lots of variety and it is fun to try something new. The specials are fantastic, I had the Sea Bass with clams, prawns and lobster on a bed of cous cous, it was wonderful.
Had a nice quiet table. The BLT and the chicken salad were great! Service was really nice.
Consistently a great meals! The service was always good, but the last few visits, I have been blown away by the improvement in the service. It just enhances an already GREAT eating experience.
I invited a friend to celebrate her birthday and our reservation was for 5 PM (before going to the movies). We were surprised to see how many people were already dining. I enjoyed my oysters and we both loved the Wence's sea food plate. Each fish and sea food were perfectly done and the white wine sauce with capers was delicious, so was the polenta. The dessert were very good and rich! The veg could have been a bit more cooked. What really made the experience less pleasant than expected was the noise level. We could hardly hear ourselves although we had a booth in the back. Perhaps the restaurant could create less hard surfaces to dampen the noise level?
Could not hear each other talk.
One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Food is always good.
Our group of 8 enjoyed our monthly get-together. The staff was friendly, flexible, and very professional. The food was well-timed, the right temperature, served In a timely manner and delicious!! We were able to use multiple credit cards to make dividing the check easy. Several people on our group were here for the first time and said they would come again!
Wence’s is a very nice and comfortable local spot for a spontaneous outing or an arranged gathering with friends. Ambiance is nice and a great bar to settle in for a drink if there’s a wait. It’s a regular spot for my husband & I.
We always enjoy dining at Wence's. The food is very good. We were surprised how many were dining on a Sunday evening - happy to see it vibrant.
Enjoyed a beautiful Sunday Brunch yesterday. Have been here for dinner twice, but never for Brunch. Will definitely visit again. The 4 entrees we chose were Eggs, Bacon & Sausage; Crab & Avocado Benedict; Breakfast Sandwich; Kids Plate. The food was very good, although my husband said his bacon was overcooked. We also had a Bloody Mary & Mimosa's. Staff was very friendly.
Rude hostess, took forever, 20 minutes to get drinks, another 15 minutes to get bread and another 20 minutes to get a meal.. who has that much time for a casual meal?? The waiter was nice but overall C-
Definitely not going back.
Missed our reservation time by 11 minutes. That's my fault. They gave my table away so I had to wait, no big deal.
After 25 minutes when my name was called I went to the host podium through a large group of people only to find out they gave my table to another party with the same name. I told them why don't they just explain to the other group that they had made a mistake but they did nothing. We had to wait another 20 minutes for a table.
Our server was okay. The food came out luke-warm. My wife's scalloped potatoes were cold. Getting our sever to check in on us for water or other things we might need was difficult. Looked as if he was serving too many tables to keep up. Even getting the check seemed like forever. Maybe I just wanted to leave so badly I was becoming impatient. The restaurant is nice looking but the noise level is unbearable.
First time here, last time here. Too bad. I had high hopes.
The first time at Wence's the service was good and the food was good. Wence's was able to accomodate the family, which is a large party with kids and that's always a plus. Combine all that and Wence's is a great place to enjoy a meal.
