Welshfield Inn Ratings and Reviews
My wife ordered the lunch trio with chicken-dumpling soup, chicken wrap, and salad. She saved the wrap for an evening snack. To her surprise, there was absolutely no chicken in the wrap. There were plenty of croutons, though. Maybe the waitress said the special was the "crouton wrap". Not sure.
A gathering of friends getting together for the monday special - Burger Night! The Welshfield Inn has more exquisite dishes, but for our simple tastes, the burgers with chips were great! For $10, you can get a burger and beer and the cozy atmosphere is perfect for friends, co-workers, business or casual dining.
Some of our table mates were about 15 minutes late, but it was no bother to our waitress and she made sure our drinks and any appetizers were ready to go!
Round table by window, as requested, was perfect for group of six to talk. Server and trainee were very pleasant and accommodating. We waited a long time for the entrees to come out, but it was OK as we just visited with our friends. If we had been in a hurry, it would not have been in the range of acceptable. Everyone liked their meals and the Thursday special menu is a great value.
We stopped at the Welshfield Inn to finish out our day-tour in Burton, Ohio. This is a very nice restaurant for family dining. Their Pot Pie was very good and their salads are very tasteful and fresh. Its an upscale restaurant that you'll want to make reservations for as they get very busy around dinner time. You can reserve a table on-line which is very helpful. The restaurant was clean and meals were great. Check out their menu on-line to help you decide ahead of time.
Welshfield Inn never fails to deliver excellent food and service. Interior décor need a little updating but patio is fabulous. Also wine tasting dinners in adjacent tent are great and lots of fun for a group. We will remain as "regulars" and encourage others to do the same. Suggest reservations on Fri and Sat nights.
Neither the menu nor server noted that the side dishes and/or entree dish were highly spiced. One member of our party had an upset stomach for days after eating the highly-spiced meal. The person would have avoided those dishes if the menu mentioned that it was highly seasoned.
Visited with friends for lunch. I love the salads here, so fresh and home made dressing. My friends all had a burger which looked amazing. I believe they have a burger special on Monday evenings. I'm gluten free but my friends enjoyed the bread basket with some amazing scented cinnamon rolls. Never a bad meal here.
We enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. We always make a point to visit historic hotels and restaurants when travelling. We ate in the old main dining room. The disappointment was the atmosphere, mainly with the carpet which needed a good cleaning. There should never be stains. To us it is a sign of cleanliness issues.
We have dined at The Welshfield Inn numerous times and are always pleased overall. We did have a few disappointments this time. One of us asked to substitute a different vegetable than the one that came with the dish. Someone other than our waitress brought our dishes, and the substitution had not been made. It took quite a while before our waitress returned to check on us, and in the meantime the flavors from the unwanted vegetable had leached on to the prime rib and diminished the pleasure of eating it. The other of us had the filet oscar with lump crab. The filet was quite good. However, the crab was shredded, not lump, and had a fishy taste, not fresh, so that was a disappointment. Overall we were pleased with our waitress, Emily, and certainly appreciated the complimentary sundae and bubbly for our combination birthday/anniversary celebration. We will definitely return.
Beautiful, charming restaurant with excellent food and friendly service. The cheese plate and the cinnamon rolls were terrific starters. The wife loved her grouper, and my turkey dinner was outstanding as well. Recommend the brownie sundae for dessert. Only thing that could improve is the selection of bourbons. Blanton's, Angels Envy, Basil Hayden or Michter's would be perfect. Will return soon.
Got together with my fiancee and my brother and his wife for just an enjoyable Sunday afternoon brunch. We hadn't been there in a long time and thought we all deserved a nice treat.
We weren't disappointed. Very enjoyable, great service, ambiance, and great view. Must go again some time.
Very busy Saturday night but the service was still good considering. When we ordered champagne for a special occasion two glasses were brought " compliments of the house". The dinners were well presented and delicious. Would not hesitate, and did, recommend the Welshfield Inn!
