Our server was excellent and the food was delicious. We will be back.
Heard amazing reviews about the Wellington and was disappointed by the experience we got on Valentine’s Day. The food was not the best and the ambiance of the restaurant was different, you could tell people around the restaurant were disappointed by the service. Had reservations for 7:15 and didn’t leave until after 9. Was way too long for the appetizer and entrees we ordered.
For the Hudson Valley Duck I received the duck was like warm and the
bed of butternut squash puree and mushrooms was cold.
Wellington's never disappoints. We had the pleasure of Tiffany waiting on us and Ashley assisting from the kitchen. We were glad to see the restaurant open on a Sunday night ... for Valentine's Day. The specials menu was nice, and my wife selected the veal scallopini, while I went with the duck breast off the regular menu. We started with a "W" caesar salad and finished with a flourless chocolate cake. All well-prepared. The pace was a little slow, with a good number of tables seated. One quibble we had was the QR menu ... we are just not that good with our one smartphone and a few disposable printed pages would be appreciated as an alternative. And an observation ... the window seats are so nice, but plates cool off quickly, perhaps they could be over-heated before delivery to the table? Thanks!
Best food we have had in a while! EVERYTHING was delicious. Our waitress was also super sweet!
Overpriced, very mediocre food
Overall a great experience! The food was great and the waitress was very nice. I would love to go back again
The appetizers that we ate were great. The pork was so tender that it just rips off the bone without force. The platters were nice and the champagne was also sweet and delicious. However, when it came to the main course, it was a hit or miss for us. The burger that was ordered was taste and medium-rare as we had asked for it. The ravioli was not that great for me. It's a little bit too heavy for the filling and the wrapping of the ravioli was a bit bland. It's a little pricier but the atmosphere was great. There weren't that many people there due to the pandemic, but we got the window seat and it was a decent view of the empty seats and pretty secluded.
It’s a great fun experience every time and I only been twice.
Due to COVID times the restaurant was not crowded at all and was very quiet. I would imagine if we were not in a pandemic the restaurant would have been quite busy. Our food was delicious and the service was fantastic. We will definitely be going back!
Great food and Drinks. Wonderful host staff. Highly recommend!
It was fine except the bartender working on the 30th had a attitude and gave us the run around like we didnt belong there and we had a reservation
I took my teenage son out for lunch. His favorite food is steak. The entire experience was just lovely
The restaurant is clean and airy. Our steaks were marvelous and our server was accommodating and gracious
Restaurant was not busy, had to go to bar ourself for drinks because it was so slow, table sat empty without water, silverware or bread of any sort. My 60.00$ dry aged steak was not at all what I expected and had a very sloppy plating. Overall,we collectively felt like we had become a late reservation burden. Not teillwd, refilled, return trips
The food was not hot, my entree was overcooked and dry, my husband had the duck breast which wasn’t even the entire breast, it took forever to get our courses. They were very understaffed, only two waitresses that I could see who working their butts off and one runner to help them. The room was at capacity and still felt stark, not really welcoming. The best feature were the drinks, amazing bartender (and we had drinks). Even after telling the server that my food was over cooked and not edible it was not taken off the check like it should have been. I would not return to this restaurant.
On the State and Eagle streets corner, this cute hotel restaurant is a perfect spot for a quick bite or a relaxed meal. We stopped in for dinner shortly after the pandemic re-opening and liked as well as before that necessary closure. Natasha was our cheerful and attentive server. She did not let my coffee cup go cold! We began with a splendid cubano mac and cheese of tender cheesy pasta with shredded pork mixed in. Main dishes for us were the chicken over grits with collards & the salmon over wild rice with berry compote. We expect the crowd to return, and we will too. The corner windows offer a nice ground-level view of downtown Albany, including the stylish capitol.
Great spot for dinner prior to a show at the Times Union Center. Walkable from the lot
great service by Natasha, however the menu ( late lunch) for a that Saturday was very limited but food was excellent at a very reasonable price , great ambiance too
The music added to the ambiance. The food was delicious and the dessert was amazing!
While the food was good, it was missing something and not quite hot enough. The temperature might be due to the terrible service. Only about 1/3 of the tables were full and it took at least 20 mins to get just drinks. Not worth the money due to the service which is a shame. Beautiful room
Food was delicious and well portioned. Waitress was warm, welcoming, familiar with the menu and attentive. Atmosphere was a bit cold and “hotel restaurant” feeling.
Not certain of recommendation based on brunch meal
Would not recommend at all. Food was overpriced and tasted awful. The balsamic reduction on my dish was burnt and the used it anyway. It was super bright, super loud, and freezing in there. They were also very understaffed. The man running food had a wool trench coat on. It’s like they pulled a guy from the valet to help run food, however it was suiting for the temperature in there
Very good meal...restaurant was crowded so service could have been more attentive.
Over the Top! We enjoyed everything about The Renaissance food, drinks, and service last night! We will be back.
A little too loud. Limited menu. Mediocre.
Great for a business or personal meal. Don't be in a rush unless you tell your server - it can be a little relaxed. The food is good and the drink selections are unique. I'd dine here again.
It was perfect for a quiet birthday celebration!
Food is excellent, but they seemed understaffed. Our water glasses were never refilled!
Everything was mediocre.
Overpriced and the food was average.
Fine but noise from the bar was energetic. Food fine. Service fine.
One of the best strip steaks we have ever had! Great side dishes! Very impressed with the food quality

My daughter admitted to the NY Bar
Brunch was great. Not an all out pig out like most but thoughtfully selected and prepared items like oatmeal pancakes and lobster Benedict.
We have been here 3 times, always coming away very happy. This time it was for my wife’s birthday. Our server, Natasha, was superb, going out of her way to make the experience extra special.
So fun! Came here before the John Mayer concert and had the Hip Hop Anonymous tequila cocktail, the fried oysters, and the farro salad with salmon. Highly recommend all of the above. Delicious!
Dear MaggieW, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We’re so glad you had a good experience and we appreciate your recommendation! If you like tequila, next time you’re here, you should try our "This is the End" cocktail ft. El Coyote Sotol Chihuahua. It’s one of our newer offerings. We hope to see you again soon! Beautiful location, but waitress was so rude from the minute we sat down, thought we were ordering too much, forgot half our drinks, messed up one of the meal orders, delivered our food and left us without silverware. Lousy experience. Food was mediocre. Edible, but nothing to rush back for. Too bad, this place could be great, but would have to start by hiring competent, friendly waitstaff.

My husband and I had dinner here on June 20, 2019. It was our first visit.
We found the food to be excellently prepared and very tasty. We split a Caesar salad: half was ample for each of us. We each ordered the lamb...done to our liking...medium and medium rare with amazing honey lavender sauce with fingerling potatoes and mushrooms. We shared the churro for dessert...yum!
We found the service to be very poor for an establishment such as this. 1. My husband ordered an Irish beer, came in a can, the waitress poured it in the glass for him and left the empty can on the table for the whole meal. 2. We used the forks for our salad, and they were taken away with salad. The entree came...no forks...we had to tag another waiter to get us forks and sharper knives for the lamb (Our waitress was chatting with others by the hostess desk) 3. Dessert, Churro comes...with ice cream...no spoons! Again we had to ask for spoons. 4. Yes, once finished eating, we sat and had to ask for the bill.
The restaurant and our waitress (Rami?) wasn’t that busy to ignore the needs of us, their customers. I personally think it is lack of management to adequately train their staff to be aware of the needs of their patrons.
