I eat at Webster House a few times each month. It's consistently great - a hidden gem. There are some interesting items on the menu, but even the house burger is fantastic.
I’ve never been disappointed at Webster House. Not only is everything almost too beautiful to eat, but the flavors are out of this world. I had never had a scallop so crispy, and I loved it! It was not over cooked either. My date had the pasta with duck confit. We shared the smoked chicken taquitos, and that might have actually been the best dish because all the flavors complimented each other so well. The taco sauce was smoky with cumin, and the crema finished it off with a smooth freshness. I loved the basil sauce with the scallops, but I wasn’t sure what to do with the amount they gave me. Also, their butter? Why is it so good? They bring a little basket of sourdough bread with butter to begin with, and I would be okay just filling up on that! Our server was pleasant, and we got in and out in about 45 minutes. The lunch menu pricing is extremely fair given the quality, and I urge everyone to try something new here!
We usually dine in the evening at Webster House when we are attending a performance next door at the Kauffman Center. This time we came for brunch, as the concert was mid-afternoon. It was a wonderful experience, from the unusually wide choice of entrees perfectly executed to the usual attentive and enjoyable service from our favorite waiter, Amine. The rooms are just as lovely by day as in the evening, and the view of the city skyline is quite dramatic.
Brought my daughter and teenage granddaughters: they loved the atmosphere and food selections.
Had a fun time looking in all the shops and had to drag the girls out of the 2nd floor bathroom!!!! (they fell in “love” with it)
Fantastic food, attentive service. We were treated special from the moment we stepped in the door.
Oh my gosh!!!! this was one of the best meals that I've had in a long time!!! The soft shell crab was delicious and the blood orange cheese cake with basil ice cream was to die for!!! Can I get a quart of that ice cream to carry out??? I was in heaven!!!
A great evening!
My fiance' and I dined at Webster House prior to attending a theater show. We loved the unique cuisine creations and truly enjoyed the entire dining experience. I highly recommend the restaurant for any special occasion. Additionally, the shopping experience with the unique boutique finds is delightful.
We always look forward to dining at Webster House, and it's always a pleasure!
We enjoyed the Saturday brunch at Webster House prior to attending the Kansas City Ballet matinee performance, and, as always, we were well taken care of by Darin and his most attentive staff. One of us had the salmon crepes and the other the chicken salad -- both were plentiful and tasty. The mimosas were also very good. We love Webster House any time, but it is especially great before ballet or symphony performances, as the Kauffman Performing Arts Center is right next door.
Fantastic food in a beautiful setting. I had the grilled salmon and my friend smoked salmon crepe and both were excellent. We also enjoyed a desert of a chai tart with smoked banana ice cream. The desert menu is very creative and we had a hard time picking out just one. Our server was professional and made us feel special the few times he made it to our table.
My friend and I have dinner at Webster House before the ballet. Again we had a delightful experience. We love it there. Our waiter was charming (curly gray/white hair). And the meal was delicious as usual.
Normally we have time to shop a bit but I guess we spend too much time talking. We always feel we can take as much time as we need.
Farm to table cuisine. Very unique dishes with the ingredient combinations that were excellent. Had the salmon and the risotto. Both were outstanding. Service was attentive but not obtrusive.
Atmosphere was charming. Loved the vintage surroundings.
Excellent menu and the service was outstanding!!
Webster House is lovely. They took care of the big stuff (the food is great) and the little stuff (personalized menus for our special occasion). Service was smart and not overbearing. The building is unique.
Food & Service is always good.
Our waitress Danielle was excellent, we lacked for nothing. She was always aware of our needs.
Great place for a date night!
Love Webster house!
We were disapointed that weekenbds are only a brunch menu. Both items ordered were not great. The soup was too spicy and the chicken salad did not have much taste . The bread was the best food we enjoyed.
A favorite! Great for lunch and dinner
We had a great experience at Sunday brunch. Great bloody Mary's and pleasant staff.
The food was creative and delicious. It was quiet enough I could have a conversation with my boyfriend. Their service was excellent. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced. Such a cool place for a restaurant and within walking distance from downtown hotels and apartments.
The Webster House was a disappointment this time. The food was mediocre at best. The LACK of service was shocking... make sure not to be seated in the bar.
Our server, Dan, did a marvelous job! We were celebrating a birthday prior to attending the Opera. Food was fabulous and ambiance amazing!
Staff at Webster House make guests feel like family and do everything in their power to make your experience wonderful.
I enjoyed the atmosphere in the store and restaurant. The food is all made from scratch with unique options. However, with both of our plates there were issues. I ordered their signature burger and asked how I wanted it cooked, I asked for a warm pink burger. It came that way, but had a burnt outside, Grill way too hot. My friend's bass was perfect, but the side was almost inedible. The Sesame cake was so dry as well, maybe that is the way it is supposed to be, we just were not used to it.
Great day! Took my daughter and grandmothers for a "fancy" lunch and was not disappointed. Food was great, service was super.
Nice change of atmosphere with shopping
Great for business,
Had a great time. The food was excellent and presentation awesome. Always a pleasure to go dine. Plus my wife loves the shopping.
We ate at Webster House for Sunday Brunch before a concert downtown. This is an excellent place to eat before or after downtown events. The food is creative and original. It is also delicious.
Will definitely be back.
Brunch for my birthday. Amazing service and even a special birthday message on my menu followed by a complimentary dessert at the end of the meal. Food was amazing and a place I’d come back to when visiting KCMO again.
We were disappointed about being seated in the bar even though we had reservations. The noise made it difficult to converse. The menu was also limited and very similar to past visits. We love its proximity to the Kauffman Center and have visited after performances there in the past with a better outcome.
The menu options, while small, would seem to meet most people's likes. I had the duck breast which was excellent. My wife had the salmon which was also well prepared and seasoned. The small house salad was excellent, but wasn't small in any sense of the word. Service was great and the atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming.
The food was very good and served promptly. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. They have a respectable wine list.
One of my special places, but was a little disappointed this time. I had an Irish coffee and there was no whipped cream , the wait staff said the bartender was out. Also my friends had to ask for hotter coffee. The chicken salad was disappointing.
This will not keep me from returning, but these small things can make a difference for first timers.
I had a weekday lunch with two friends to celebrate our birthdays which are just days apart. We had a great time. The menu was varied and original and the service was excellent. The food was fast, hot and delicious. Webster House had printed "Happy Birthday" on our menus which made the occasion all the more special and they gave us a small dessert to celebrate our day. It's a beautiful building and parking is a breeze. We're going back next year!
It was absolutely superb. Menu, service, friendly staff, presentation, ambiance, healthy delicious fare, all were excellent beyond expectation. We will soon be back. Thank you!
The new menu wasn't totally changed, just enough to go with the seasons. The pork hash was new and delicious. Not too spicy for my super tastebuds. Glad to see they still had the Sesame Cake. Savory and light, perfect with the green tea ice cream. Service impeccable as always.
