Nice place and great food
Exquisite service, food was delicious, great birthday dinner
A great meal, wonderful service, always a favorite of ours!
I am never disappointed with the Webster House. Except for this time, I wasn't quick enough on a purchase, someone else got it before me! The food is always good and presentation is beautiful. The wait staff is friendly but not intrusive. And the shopping! One of a kind items in their store.
Spectacular as always! I could literally live on your house salad alone!
Great atmosphere for a birthday dinner before concert at Kaufman Center. Perfect evening
We went in for brunch before a performance at the Kauffman Center, so they were busy. Our server asked in advance if we were going to the afternoon show. Service was a bit slow, but certainly manageable. The food, though, was just not good. Two of us ordered the steak eggs Benedict - one medium, one mid-rare. They were beyond rare and cold/chewy, too. The herbed potatoes were heavily crusted in rosemary, rendering them a look and taste of burnt pine trees. The last person in our group had the arepas, which sounded amazing. They were dry and the pork was way overdone. Could have used an egg as well. The place is beautiful, and the food sounds good, but ours was really pretty awful.
We went for Sunday Brunch before the opera and were so pleasantly surprised. We expected it to be nice, but it was one of the best dining experiences we've had a while. The food was. exceptional, the ambiance was lovely and unique. The service very good as well. We can't wait come back for dinner!!!
Everything was great. My only complaint; however, is that they did not say anything about our anniversary, despite having that marked on my opentable reservation.
Salmon and scallop dishes were excellent. Service from waiter was attentive. Service from manager not so much so (he forgot to bring back wine and to replace forks, corrected ultimately by the waiter). Recommended.
Unique restaurant with limited but good variety of Chef inspired creations. Kitchen very accommodating to food sensitivities. For example, I had the minestrone soup and they left out the pasta for me. Dishes very tasty and well balanced. Nice presentation.
We always enjoy Webster House. It's a lovely place. Our waiter, Gary, was excellent, very helpful. He was obviously embarrassed that at 5:30 they were already out of the two pasta specials, which had been enthusiastically promoted on a special menu. Then at 6:30 they were out of the wine, for which they had had a special tasting as we entered. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the food we were able to order.
Best Scallops in the city!! Always a great time, wait staff is welcoming and very attentive to your needs during your dining experience.
Loved it. Wonderful food and service, very fresh. Very accommodating to children. The servers provided an activity book to the children and crayons and were able to give nice menu options that were in keeping with the restaurant style and still kid friendly. Thank you!
We stopped in for a meal before Rigoletto at The Lyric. Highly recommend the ribeye -- marbled to perfection. The carrot cake was accompanied by a scrumptious sorbet -- a bit of tartness made for the perfect bite.
We have been coming here many years for pre-theater matinee for lunch. Now the menu has changed from a lunch menu to brunch. We did not enjoy this experience. Too few lunch options, and too much focus on breakfast. We will reconsider our dining options in the future.
Why did Webster House make this change? Sad.
We had a delightful meal. Everything was prepared to perfection! Our server was friendly and attentive.
One of my fav restaurants in KC!
Lovely from start to finish — as always!
We love Sunday brunch. We feel like Royalty. The food is always perfectly prepared. The service outstanding.
My dining companion had the duck and it was very nice. I had the pork chop it was dry and other than the sauce on top it was a bit dry and tastless..
One dining party across the wide dining room was LOUD LOUD LOUD. You could make out every word they screamed. The staff did nothing to tone them down for the dining pleasure of the rest of the room.
Access to Kauffman definitely a plus. Food was excellent.
Nice lunch with aunts and cousins.
Always a wonderful lunch at Webster House.
Would love to see more affordable shopping downstairs. The place is so cool but never can afford to buy anything,
The clearance was even expensive , fun to look though!
I took my adult daughter for her birthday and we had the most wonderful experience and meal. It was first class from start to finish. I would recommend to anyone.
I brought 3 of my friends who had not previously visited Webster House for a lunch together. All loved the atmosphere, the food and the service. We will definitely return!
Loved the atmosphere and elegance of Webster House.
Webster House never disappoints. The service was slow but I don’t blame the server because it was obvious the placed was packed and a special event was held.
Our dinner at Webster House was lovely. The building is spectacularly restored and beautifully decorated. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Beer selection is limited and my steak was just a touch overcooked (but still extremely yummy.) Otherwise, everything was perfect. Be sure to have a look around in the shop on the first floor before going upstairs to eat as they have an unique selection of clothing, decorative items, and antique furniture.
As usual an excellent dining experience with truly exceptional food. One of our favorites!
It was lovely as we celebrated my friends birthday.
We enjoyed Webster House to celebrate our 36th anniversary. I had to change the time twice and the day once and it was so easy to do with the Open Table ap. The ambiance was perfect for our occasion. The late lunch time was very nice as we ended up being the only diners for most the time we were there. Gary was our most attentive server who never missed a beat providing great menu insight and adding to a special time for us. He even placed a candle in the chocolate beet cake with great effect.
The food was not secondary to the sevice as the lunch combo and the famous Webster house burger did not dissapoint. If you see the tomato basil soup on the menu when you're there, order it! it was subllime in every way.
Hat's off to everyone at Webster House as we were able to find unique gifts for our children and grandson as a bonus to a fantastic dining experience.
Webster House always delivers! Food is always of the highest standards as well is the staff. A unique gem in KC, great for a night out with that special someone.
We had a great Valentines Day dinner and the service was excellent!
I took my wife here to celebrate her birthday, we made sure to put a note in our Open Table request and they never acknowledged or did anything for her birthday. Our server seemed very inattentive but did make good recommendations. She prepared our drinks that did not taste very good at all. Not only was the flavor not great but there was also hardly any alcohol in them. I even let the server know that it was my wifes birthday and she didn't do anything for it. Later, about 15 minutes after we sat down another table of 4 sat next to us and were also celebrating a birthday that she did acknowledge. We have eaten here one other time and had a wonderful experience, but this time was far from wonderful. Probably won't be back soon.
The Webster House building is beautiful inside and out. The restaurant layout is unique (in a good way) and adds to the dining experience. Everything we ordered was delicious and the wine special that night a great deal.
Dan was our server and was very friendly, personable and gave us the right amount of attention: not too little, not too much. In between pleasant casual conversation he made several menu recommendations, all of which we really enjoyed. And although we'd already decided to order the evening's wine special he recommended we try it since we told him we were leaning towards wine.
The Webster House is definitely worth a visit even if not eating- but I highly recommend getting a reservation and enjoying the food. The building itself is worth seeing and the first floor retail space has some very nice and interesting items.
Dining at the Webster House is a slice of 'old Kansas City' elegance. The food is consistently good, the service is stellar, and you can't beat unlimited mimosas, made with fresh-squeezed orange juice, for Sunday bunch. Before or after dining, strolling the shopping rooms is a fun way to continue a nice chat with a friend. Go, and enjoy this timeless gem.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in town; always a great experience! The ribeye steak is fabulous!
Great food. Great service. Diet accommodations
My husband and I ordered from the brunch menu. He had a lamb dish with pureed root vegetables and a nice sauce...it was delicious, altho the lamb croquette seemed a bit overcooked. I had the beef eggs benedict without the meat. It had chard and they added extra in place of the meat and it was way too much. The eggs were poached and perfectly done. it was a little tasteless. I was less than impressed. The ambiance was lovely and the waitress was very pleasant. Overall a good experience except I think the food good be better.
