Once again I was very pleased with Webster House. My friends had not been there and they thought I had outdone myself on the selection. We did not allow time for shopping on the fabulous main floor, but got the idea of the selection and elegance. The servers were attentive and knowledgeable. Great evening, great drinks, great food

Love Webster House for pre show dining. Only problem is the last two times I’ve been there, we’ve ordered desert thinking we would have plenty of time to enjoy it. But, desert service seems to be very slow. By the time we received ours we needed to pay and be on our way

Three friends and I made the trip to Webster House for a girl’s day out — have lunch and shop. Webster House filled the bill. We had such a nice relaxing day and all the staff was very courteous and helpful. Thanks for a great adventure!

As always ..... EVERYTHING about our Sunday Brunch was PERFECT! For 'Starters' .... it is always so nice to be welcomed by such a friendly & professional staff! We have observed that Darin, the Webster House Restaurant Manager, truly sets an exemplary example!!! His entire staff seems to reflect his caring & enthusiastic rapport with all guests -- no matter if they're new or regular guests, they're all shown the same welcoming and thoughtful greetings! The chefs are phenomenal & it's always wonderful to enjoy opportunities to try new seasonal dishes as they are introduced to the menus! Kudos are truly extended to the entire staff - from Darin & his staff to the various chefs & cooks it is very definitely one of the most fantastic dining experiences offered in Kansas City!!!

First visit: very much enjoyed the whole experience. Our waiter, one Dan, was outstanding: prompt, unobtrusive, knowledgable, polite and altogether top-shelf. His recommendation of the duck was taken, and certainly spot-on. Neither my wife nor I had any complaints at all, and would highly recommend this restaurant.

Something has gone wrong at Webster House! We were seated promptly and ordered promptly. For the next hour we barely saw our waiter. Had to get his attention twice to ask about our order and coffee refills. Our food arrived 1 hour 10 minutes after we were seated on Sunday. Had to gobble down our meal to get to ballet before the doors closed. We were taken aback when both manager and waiter apologized but told us we still had 35 minutes to get to the performance, so not to worry. Had planned to shop downstairs, but there was no time left. Our meals were comped, but will never eat at Webster House again if we need to be somewhere by a certain time.

The old favorite steak benedict was great as always. The serving size seems to have grown. There was enough for 2. Topped if off with the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake...perfection. As always, Gary was a phenomenal server. We look forward to our Sunday brunch before the ballet. Gary and Webster House always make it special.

This was my first overall visit to Webster House. The first floor shopping area was absolutely beautiful. I also loved the architecture and all the characteristics of the school, as my favorite subject of studies was and still is, history.

The dining experience, however, was subpar and very disappointing. I was there with my best friend to celebrate my birthday. The server came over to greet us and pour our water. I asked for a minute to look at the wine menu. We waited 20 minutes (I looked at my watch) and my friend had to get up from the table to go find him. He came back to the table so we could each order a glass of champagne. We also ordered calamari as an appetizer at that time. (He did not ask us if we wanted to order anything else). When the calamari came to the table, it smelled a little overdone and it tasted overdone. They did not give us appetizer plates, we had to ask.

I ordered a scallop entree and my friend ordered a salad with grilled chicken. The entrees came to our table in a timely fashion but my scallops were burnt! You could smell them even before the server set them down. I have dined in many places across the country and I have never been presented scallops that looked like that. I asked for different ones. They came to the table and the second go around, the scallops looked fine on the outside but were cool in the middle. No one came back to the table to see if they were alright and my friend had to get up once again and go find someone. The third go around they came back and were perfect. By this time I was disappointed with the overall experience.

The check was presented and we discovered they did not charge me the $35.00 for my entrée which was nice but no one said anything like, "I'm sorry your experience was not up to par so we removed the entrée charge from the bill." The manager did not make an apology, nor did the server.

I would really like to try this place again but it won't be right away.

We went on a Sunday for lunch, during which time it looked like only a brunch menu was available. But as it turned out, it was fantastic and full of variety. All dishes came with several accoutrements. The dessert options were lovely also. Service was great. I appreciated the waiter inquiring if we had a show to see at the Kauffman Center (which we did), so we could plan timing accordingly.

The current chef has created a menu that is not satisfactory to our tastes. We are a party of 4 who often dines at Webster House for the convenience to The Kauffman. The only reason (since the chef has taken our favorites off the menu) we continue to dine here is for convenience.
Bring back the former menu! We especially request shrimp & grits! They were fabulous and ordered EVERY time!

I am never disappointed at Webster House. The service is impeccable and the food is fantastic. My only comment about the noise level is that our room was very quiet and intimate when we arrived but by the time we ordered dessert, our conversation was lost in the noise of other diners. It was something we've not noticed before and the room was only about two-thirds full. This is not something that would prevent me from going back, but I think I would ask for a quieter space in the future.

I love the Webster House. Like most of the restaurant goers that night, we were there for a pre-opera dinner. For the first time, I ordered the duck confit salad, large, and was disappointed. It was not well-dressed, and had what I figured was about an ounce of duck confit on top of it. I have had duck confit at many restaurants, and this was sub-par. It was bone dry, almost jerky-like, and there was hardly any of it. So, on this particular night, the food was disappointing. However, as a location, ambience, etc., it cannot be beat. My friend ordered the trout on recommendation of the server, and likewise was quite disappointed in it.
