We got to wander around and look at the boutiques with our cocktails, as sounds of the jazz do all in the supper club came drifting down the stairs. The food 💯 was delicious. Our waiter, Dan, was such a gentleman. It was his last night before he moved to Oregon. The tuna with the coconut pineapple rice was wonderful.
If I could give more than 5 stars for service and ambiance I would! Beautiful place and amazing service
Fabulous experience from the moment we arrived! Staff is friendly and welcoming. Our server Dan was fabulous; knowledgeable about the food, helpful with suggestions and just the right amount of attention. We were celebrating our anniversary but I would come back often for the food and ambiance.
Server very abrupt, not very friendly. Music too loud & about 12 other people in room & chatter was overwhelming. Could not carry on a conversation without yelling
Always a treat every time we cousins can get together And go to Webster House
This was my 3rd time at Webster House and it gets better every time! All of our dishes were outstanding. Some of the best calamari I’ve ever had. We can’t recommend the duck breast and the halibut enough. The server was knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful. If there is anything that could be improved, it would be the cocktails. They were good, but not to the level that properly compliments everything else about the Webster House experience.
Webster house was perfect. Neat ambiance and very kind staff all around. We went for Saturday brunch.
Aside from the marvelous location next to the Kaufmann Center, Webster House is gorgeous. Downstairs is a boutique; alas we had no time to shop, but it certainly looked intriguing. The service was absolutely great and the dining room we were in was stunning. As to the food, I felt that there was some over-reaching, some needlessly overcomplicated approaches to what might have been a classic dish. The calamari was excellent; our salads, just average. Two had haddock (I think); one had duck maigret (slightly overcooked with an Asian sauce that was interesting but added nothing to the richness of the duck); another had the ribeye. All was good - just not transcendental, and at this price point, that is our expectation. Desserts were only adequate. Again, needlessly complicated. A creme brûlée made from tofu seemed pointless. It was too dense, and most certainly could not have been lower calorie count than the classic! So, what was the point of that? ANYWAY, given Webster House's location, superb service, and decor, we would return. But, bring a wad of money for th experience!
I have eaten here several in a couple or part of a group, and always enjoyed it. The food is very well prepared. The waiter we had this time was especially good.
Dining experience was much better in April 2016. Have you changed chefs since then?
Wonderful food as always. Do not let the street construction stop you from dining here. July is not as busy as other times of the year. Will be back to check out the shopping.
Exceptional service, to die for food, and great atmosphere. Perfect spot for a date night, special occasion, or to catch up with an old friend!
The food is normally quite good, but this time I ordered a chicken liver Po’ Boy. It had too much bread and was pretty bland. I also ordered a chocolate creme brûlée, and when it arrived it was spread out all over my plate. The waitress explained that it was “deconstructed.” I would have liked to have known that in advance, because I enjoy the sugar glaze on top. I probably would have ordered a different dessert had I known. My final criticism is that the noise level, even with a smaller than usual lunch crowd, was quite high. Drapes on the windows and other noise controls would improve the ambience.
The perfect spot for lunch or dinner before a Kaufmann Center event!
This is DEFINITELY a go-to restaurant for pre-Symphony meals ---- it absolutely cannot be surpassed .... the food, ambiance, service (the BEST IN KC!!!!) ..... EVERYTHING IS PERFECT - from the greeting by Darin, to Gary's service & through dessert .... it's ALL fantastic!!!
We had never been in before and weren’t sure what to expect. We left feeling like we weren’t quite fancy enough for such an upscale place. The food was beautifully plated but the taste didn’t blow me away. I love the historical building and would like to try out your brunch sometime. Service was great, thank you Kealey?
Have been looking for a ribeye with this quality for years inKC. Tremendous service from Danny. Excellent wine choices
We had some delicious risotto and halibut. It was our first visit and we were blown away.
We enjoyed brunch on Sunday before the symphony. Everything was wonderful! One of our favorite places to dine. I had smoked salmon crepes and my wife had frittata with veggies. Delicious!
We made reservations for Father’s day and the entire experience was amazing! The staff was incredibly attentive and very helpful. The food was amazing! Very flavorful and beautifully presented. The restaurant even custom printed menus for us upon request and even wrote a special message in chocolate on the desert plate. The prices were very reasonable for the exceptional experience. I will both highly recommend them and be looking forward to my next meal at the Webster house.
One if our favorite place for a special night out, but this occasion was different. Not certain if their is a new chef, but the food was not as we remembered. I had a pork chop and it did not pair well with hominy. My wife had the ribeye, but it was more of a filet, which is difficult to cook for medium. obviously we had to warm it up. Though we left we a smile on our face, it was due to enjoying each other, but not the experience we were use to.
Service was excellent. Menu options were great. If only the food was seasoned better. Each patron’s entree was grossly under-seasoned.
Food and service were excellent. Ambience was also great. Unique historic building.
Fantastic dining experience as expected. Always anticipate our next visit.
Awesome food - looked like art, and perfectly prepared. Delicious food - awesome night
A big thank you to Darren and the staff for another great evening!
Our cousins were visiting from Arkansas, so we wanted to find a unique place to take them for lunch. Webster House fit the bill. The drinks and food were delicious especially the salmon crepes and the potatoes that came with the biscuits and gravy and hamburger. We were able to have a quiet visit. The wait staff took very good care of us. We will definitely return.
We had taken my family here for Father's Day - first time they've ever been, and they loved it! Which says a lot, as my parents are usually not big on these types of restaurants. The food and service was excellent, the atmosphere is relaxing as well as historic. My father was telling us stories about the building and the area, so he felt right at home. I would definitely recommend the Webster House for small groups as well. We stop in for brunch at least once a month, and are never disappointed. Generally, we each get a different meal, and sample each others, which works out great to get a taste of their whole menu...plus the mimosas are truly bottomless!
Good food and very accommodating to special food needs. Would prefer the main dining room and not the bar dining (somewhat loud understandably in bar area). Waiter and other staff very friendly and helpful.
Excellent as always! Webster House always dies an amazing job!
There are so many wonderful and unique things there..... I just keep going back. Food is amazing, service was great and the facility is beautiful.
The menu seemed a bit limited but the items we ordered were very good.
We have often dined at Webster House before going to the Performing Arts Center.
This time we were leaving a wedding downtown and thought it would be fun just to go to Webster House for dinner. Our waiter was superb!
Dinner before an event downtown
I wish I could give a outstanding ++++++ review score for service. The Webster House never fails to impress us every time we go. Even the shopping was wonderful.
I treated a friend for lunch at Webster House and we were delighted. Service was exceptional and the food was a symphony of beautiful tastes (a nod to the proximity of Kauffman Center). The menu is impressive and imaginative, offering a variety of dishes. Note to self: eat at Webster House more often!
Webster House is such a special place. I like entertaining out-of-town guests there. They always enjoy it.
Always interesting menus and excellent food.
My son and I had brunch prior to attending the matinee at the theater. I had the aquachiles, and they were absolutely delicious. The server indicated they were spicy (which was exactly what I was seeking in an entree). The team at Webster House knocked it out of the park with this very different and extremely tasty!
Always excellent menu and food! Consistently excellent service!
A great place to choose before an event at The Kauffman. Saturday brunch was very delicious, especially the French toast, which was really like good bread pudding without the whiskey sauce. Reservations are a must when there is a show. The place was very busy, and the only drawback to the ambiance is that it is noisy. Tables are close together, and the noise of conversations around is a little distracting.
