This was our first visit to The Webster House and we've already made another reservation for a return visit.
Staff was welcoming, hospitable, informative and genuine. Food choices and quality were excellent as was the service.
The porkchop was the very best I have had! Likewise my wife's scallop's were excellent. Although pricey the quality of the food was worth it!
Absolutely wonderful!! The food, drink & atmosphere were wonderful. They asked if we were attending the Ballet so they could be aware of our timeline - excellent service!!
Food Delicious, we Waited over hour for our food, while everybody else had received theirs. Watched people eat come a go and we still waited for food.
Always good for any special occasion. Ambiance would be hard to beat. Fewer things on the menu that appealed to me this
As usual, service a bit slow. We were there nearly 1 1/2 hours for a salad and appetizer. No one offered us a Happy Hour menu, although our reservation was during their Happy Hour time.
Always the best.
We were celebrating our first anniversary. The staff and food are top notch. If you haven’t been here, you are missing the best gem in KC.
We went to Webster House to celebrate our anniversary. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer, and it was probably my favorite part of the meal. I ordered the scallops and my husband ordered the pork chop. The scallops were delicious and were cooked perfectly, but the beet sauce and the eggplant that came with it weren’t my favorite. My husban’s porkchop was delicious! Our service was outstanding. Some of the best I’ve had in a long time. We also got a dessert on the house for our anniversary!
Sitting at the chef’s table revealed the dance in the kitchen. What a great dinner show!
Fabulous atmosphere in a vintage Large home in Kansas City. Gorgeous boutique shop on the main floor, so you can shop while you dine! Grab a cocktail, shop away, & then enjoy a lovely meal!
Miss Michelle is a wonderful server and we were pleased that we were assigned to your table. I love eating at Webster House though I find the dinner menu could use more variety. I love the dinner salad and that is what I usually have.
All the people who work there are very friendly and efficient.
In an old schoolhouse. Great dining and lovely boutiques downstairs in the former classrooms.
Thanks to the wonderful waitress and her patience as we waited for brother that arrived an hour and half late. She was extremely accommodating and it meant the world!
Great place for dinner before the symphony. Wonderful food, wine, service. Always fun to go there!
Excellent food and service. Very high noise level. Difficult to converxe with my friend.
Makes you feel as though you are out of town at an elegant restaurant. You do need to move it from the clothing downstairs. I spend too much money on merchandise. Just kidding, I love your restaurant , but need to bring back your wedding cake dessert. I miss it!
The food and the setting were great and our server was outstanding. This was everything that you look for at a Saturday leisurely lunch.
The burger was very tasty. The Earl Grey ice tea is a treat! The new pastry chef knows his or her desserts.
Great food and warm atmosphere!
Such friendly and accommodating staff. A real pleasure.
Hadn't eaten at Webster Housevfor a long time. Food and service were just as remembered. Such a great place for an outing. Wish it was open later so I couple eat post theatre.
Steak and Eggs Benedict with bottomless Mimosas... yummy!
Very loud! Difficult to hear the server as well as my husband who sat across the table from me.
Pork was dry, service was slow. We were disappointed as we had heard great reviews from friends.
We loved this place! We were in Kansas City visiting but if we were locals this would be a new favorite! The story behind the old school building and the extremely welcoming staff made the whole experience a treat!
The only complaint I have is we were in a room that cleared out as the other patrons were going to a event. After they left we were not attended to as the waiter cleared six tables and replaced the table cloths. It was distracting and ruined the atmosphere.
Love the Webster house and the old charm feel. Great menu with a nice selection of creative choices. Nice wine and cocktail selection. Chef is willing to alter menu items for gluten intolerant guests. My wife had the salmon which was great. I had the steak while it was good it was also tough (the only downside to the night). Our server was awesome friendly, helpful and attentive.
We had a lovely time celebrating our dating anniversary at Webster House. It was our first time there and we will return. Our food was delicious and a good value. We got a bottle of Italian wine, had the pot sticker appetizer, the quail entree and a delicious chocolate dessert they gave us for celebrating our special occasion with them. There was light music playing in the background that added to the ambiance. Top to bottom a wonderful night. Our server and host were terrific and accommodating. We were dining late and they didn't rush us at all. The overall beauty of the building deserves mentioning - gorgeous historic Kansas City landmark.
Always love eating at Webster House before the theatre. Ambiance, food, wait staff all top notch. So is the price however, so, I don’t dine there as often as I’d like. The bathroom is amazing! And don’t get me started on the shopping. Fun to browse the varied rooms. Great jewelry,. I find one of a kind clothing items of great quality and not all items are too expensive.
Danielle, the bartender, went out of her way to make our evening special. Michelle, our waitress, gave excellent service.
Good experience. Convenience, location, and consistency were the primary reasons for choosing. Webster House is next to the Kauffman Center and we were heading to a concert. The staff knew we had a timeline and were very efficient and helpful which was greatly appreciated. I am an avid scotch drinker and they were out of the first 3 selections asked for from their list. (Premium scotches, but easily obtainable.) Wine list, from which we had a bottle, is not extensive and slightly overpriced when compared to comparable restaurants in the area. I am on a low carb diet and they were obviously not familiar with this. The alternative suggestions from the chef for the hominy were "healthy and vegetarian" but the carbs in the red rice and farrow suggested were far higher than my daily quota allows. They did substitute green beans which were excellent! I had the pork chop which was very good. Others enjoyed the scallops and pork chops also. Great waitress very friendly and attentive and overall a very accommodating staff, we will definitely return as this is consistently good and makes dinner out before a concert very convenient.
Lovely place for dinner before events at The Kaufman Center. My husbands steak was perfection and my salmon was delicious-flown in fresh twice a week. Presentation of food was beautiful. Service was attentive, pleasant and personal. We will be back.
This place is just ok. It used to be a really great place to grab a great lunch and bring clients. Our server was nice but we were on of four tables and we had to keep asking for beverages refills and didn’t even get offered dessert but had to ask to get it a coffee. Not what it use to be.
Superb dining experience. Highly recommended. The service and attentiveness to detail by waitstaff and management was outstanding.
An incredible experience all around! Unique menu choices, exemplary service, and impeccable atmosphere. Makes every occasion a special occasion. Very kindly cognizant of theater time frame.
Thanks for a wonderful evening!
I took my mother here for brunch before the symphony. We loved it! Although a bit pricey for our budget (we knew that going in and planned accordingly) we were both surprised to see reasonably priced items we could pick from. The portions were excellent. Many times high priced restaurants charge more and give you less. That was not the case at Webster House. We both left full and happy. Our waitress Danielle was very prompt and courteous. She wasn't in our face but always just a moment away. Wonderful experience all around.
Absolutely excellent! The staff truly go above and beyond to accommodate you. Words can not express just how wonderful the food, atmosphere and staff really are. I highly recommend this place!
Great service by our server Michelle. The food was delicious. We had the burger and someone had the chicken salad. Both were great. The dessert plum cake was ok.
Recently dined her for our anniversary. Everything was wonderful!! The food was excellent as well as a very knowledgable and friendly staff.
