Weber Grill - Indianapolis Ratings and Reviews
I was very excited to come here, as I had heard rave reviews. This was a weekend getaway for my boyfriend and I. We had never been to Indianapolis. We often go to Louisville every 3 months or so for weekend getaways. Upon arrival, we sat at our table as several waiters and waitress walked by (including what ended up being our own) but no one ever acknowledged us. We sat for about 5 minutes without anyone ever coming to our table. I went up to the hostess stand, where a manager or supervisor was with her, and asked if we could possibly have someone come over to get us a drink. The manager didn't even come over, and we still waited another 2-3 minutes before our waitress FINALLY came over. Again, she had walked by our table several times helping her other tables but never even said she would be with us in a moment. Several other waiters kept walking by us, but nothing. The table was dirty. Salt all over the table. Once we did get service, she was very nice, but to be honest, we almost got up and left. When we are paying on average $30 a meal, I expect a higher level service, which we didn't get. Dirty tables, late service and not even an offer for a free drink or appetizer to apologize. Poor customer service. The manager themselves who I went to the hostess stand to ask for service was helping deliver food later to tables near by, never even checked on us to make sure everything was ok.
The service got better once we got it, but there wasn't even any kind of apology for taking so long, which I think would have helped. We both had 2 beverages and my boyfriend had the filet and I had the beef brisket, which was dry as hell, and I substituted the spinach, which was cold. THE best thing I had was the pretzel rolls and the garlic mashed potatoes were amazing. So I paid a lot of money for mashed potatoes and bread.
Again, for what we paid to have a nice night out, I expected more. We were both completely underwhelmed and wished we would have left and gone to Giordano's
My grilled vegetable salad was supposed to have white balsamic and it had regular balsamic and was WAY overdressed. The steak skewers were very small for the $8 extra charge!
My husband had grilled chicken and vegetables. The chicken was over cooked and swimming in sauce.
Music was in poor taste and too loud.
Our server was excellent!
We enjoy dining out before the ISO but will choose another restaurant next time!
When there's a Weber grill hanging outside the restaurant it's basically begging you to come in and try the food! There's nothing like feeling like you're at a backyard bar-b-que, but not having to swat away flies, and letting someone else do the grilling while you relax! What a concept and what a deal. Add to that the pretzel rolls offered by the server, and heaven is the word that comes to mind!
Bottom line? If you like grilled food, whether meat, vegetables, or whatever, you've got to try the Weber Grill restaurant. There are even great salad options, but they just didn't beat out the burger! :-)
The food and desserts were very good everyone enjoyed them; although, our waiter took sometime to check on us, i even had to ask another waiter to find him for us. We needed refill drink for a child and one in my party had ordered a margarita that he forgot to place the order for at the bar and took almost 45 mins to get it.
Overall the food overcame the poor/fair/slow service we received this time.
When we first arrived, 6:30 pm the restaurant was sparsely filled with customers but in an hour the place was literally packed and to be honest, distractingly noisy. But the food was superb and our waitress was perfect. She and the eats were more than enough to make up for the loud, man club atmosphere. There must have been a game or something because the far and away majority of diners were guys. Anyways, it remains one of our family's favorite downtown restaurants. I guess we need to get there earlier to avoid the noise!
We have visited this restaurant annually during a work conference. This year was disappointing. The menu had been changed and several of the items we enjoyed there were no longer available. (pulled pork, combo meat platters) Our waiter was ok, there was a group of 9 the food seemed to take a while especially since the restaurant was only 1/3 to 1/2 full. The waiter did fine on keeping drinks refilled but was not very friendly (maybe he just had a bad day).
Overall the food was decent - they know how to do a steak and potato dish no doubt.
However, I will say we felt "rushed" so that the staff could leave. It is new years eve, and I get the idea of wanting to go home...but let's remember that when spending a few hundred bucks on a meal, the service is just as important as the food...and that the late meal may be our new years plan...
Food was amazing! My filet was cooked perfectly (medium rare) our waiter Jesse was awesome. He had a breast personality and made us feel very welcome, and his recommendation for the brisket chili, omg, amazing! We live in Dayton Ohio, but will definitely make the drive back!
My reasoning behind my low scoring review is simple. I am an avid weber grill enthusiast and dined in at the indianapolis location for the first time ever on new year's eve at approximately 9:00 pm. I orded brisket chili, a salad with shrimp, and the filet mignon/scallops special with one beer. Everything seemed awsome until i bit into a foreign object in my salad. It appeared to be a piece of a ceramic chef blade. It fragmented in my mouth but didn't cause any damage. I was forced to spit it all out. The resturaunt manager followed up on the incident immediately and seemed pretty proffesional. However i was disappointed to see i didn't recieve any discount for the incident. I was charged full price for the salad i didn't finish, and was never offered anything for free for my trouble. I payed over $90 for my meal after tip, and yes i still tipped 20%. As a business man my self, i was very dissapointed how the situation was handled.
While we enjoyed our experience and our food very much, we felt our two person very small table was a bit odd. While it was too small width-wise, it was almost too long length-wise; it was an odd table and we would have preferred a booth very much for our special occasion. However, we did truly still enjoy our meals; the food was excellent!
Was looking for a casual “burger place”, saw it on open table but didn’t read into it. Inside was much nicer than I expected. Took a family of 4, had appetizers, salads, main course, desert and drinks and was a fair $175. Having a large fillet with lobster tail bumped the price $65. I thought I’d be as very fair. Very nice. When I come back to Indianapolis I would recommend and try and stop in.
Stopped in here before the last Colts game of the year for a quick lunch. Both my grandson and I had the Wisconsin cheeseburger which came with bacon and cheddar cheese. Burger cooked perfectly as requested and was one of the most flavorable I have recently. Great service by all staff.
We have had several great meals with good service! We especially like the prime rib!! You get a lot of good food for the price and the sides are big enough to share. There are always nice specials and a great selection of appetizers. With all the options we keep coming back for the prime rib!
Our meal started off with pretzel rolls that were very tasty. We did not order appetizers. Everything is cooked on actual Weber Grills and some meats are smoked. Our entrees consisted of the meatloaf served with mashed potatoes and bacon mac--n-cheese, along with BBQ ribs and green beans and mashed potatoes. The food arrived in a timely manner although it was warm, not hot. My husband did enjoy his ribs (very tender) and the green beans. My meal was less than stellar. The meatloaf had no seasoning besides the BBQ sauce provided. The BBQ sauce had a nice flavor, however, meatloaf was not seasoned...at all. BLAND! The mashed potatoes were average. The bacon mac-n-cheese was sorely lacking bacon and a flavorful cheese sauce. I ordered it at the suggestion of the waitress and if I had to do it again I would've ordered the half BBQ chicken.
Prime rib was horrible. (2 of us ordered it)
-very little flavor
- au jus tasted like water
(Would have been better off with a burger)
Service was less than stellar.
-rushed to get us out (we were there at 3:30 and the place was empty)
-did not know many answers to our questions.
-he obviously did not want to be working
This was our first visit to The Weber Grill. The food was absolutely delicious. The waiter suggested the meat loaf and three of us decided to try it. The fourth had the baby back ribs. We all had a taste of the ribs and decided that the next time we’ll give those a try. Best ever! The meatloaf was great, although a very large portion. Had plenty to take home. Will definitely be going to the Weber Grill many more times in the future.
Initially I wasn't impressed when we walked in. We had a reservation and the folks at the desk we're not friendly or welcoming. They seemed like we were inconveniencing them. Our waiter was good though. The food was prepared correctly and tasted good. For desert we had the apple pie with cinnamon ice cream. Flavor was good but it was barely warm. Would have been excellent if it was hot and crispy. Overall would still recommend because the steaks were cooked perfectly and had very good flavor.
Arrived early for a five pm reservation...was told all the serving staff wasn't there you so we and many other people would have to wait. Once they say us They then-proceed to triple seat the servers on the floor. While the host was very kind, we did not get the table a requested because they had already sat other people there. The manager stopped by and offered to buy us drinks or an appetizer. Which was nice but I would have preferred they honored the seating request. We declined the freebies. The manager explained that four servers called off. Basically they were not equipped to deal with post holiday and pacer game
Crowds. Our server was good and the food was fine...but I won't be back...too many other options in downtown Indianapolis that are equipped for the busy season.
