Weather Mark Tavern Ratings and Reviews
The service was absolutely incredible! We came for bottomless brunch on my birthday and it ended up being one of the best bottomless brunch experiences I’ve had in Chicago! Service was incredibly fast (I don’t think I ever saw the bottom of my glass because they kept them coming at such a good pace), the mimosas were perfectly made, and the food was incredible! They even gave me a little birthday surprise which was really cute. This is a great neighborhood restaurant. Everything from the patrons, staff, and bartenders was perfect.
I would not recommend this place. Food was dry and took a long time even though place was empty. Bar tender spilled drink all over bar and my friends pants. She and never came back to refill the drink only offered a towel and an apology with the bill she placed on the damp bar
We had high hopes for Weather Mark. Unfortunately, they weren't met.
No Chorizo so they didn't make the salsa for the Huevos Rancheros? Why not offer to substitute? Or at least tell us as soon as we were sat that they were out?
No fruit to go with our Waffles & Fruit. Someone ran to the store to get more. If advertised as Fruit and Waffles for brunch, strawberries and raspberries in a ramekin aren't really worth mentioning.
When our food finally came out it was cold.
The syrup was supposed to be a special Maple Rum something but it barely tasted like Mrs. Butterworth's.
Our waffles were thrown on the plate, one covered in powdered sugar, one with none... and a slop of breakfast potatoes (even though it didn't come with potatoes). The presentation was horrible.
We asked for butter for toast 3 times and never ended up getting any.
Not sure why the kitchen wasn't stocked or the servers prepped but we were disappointed.
We did enjoy the bottomless mimosas and the decor was great. I really hope that improvements to service and food are made. We'd love to try it again some day.
The restaurant was dead, no need to make a reservation. The iced teas we ordered each tasted different and funny, like the pitcher wasn't washed or something. Asked for 5 waters for our table of 5, server brought 4 and didn't return with a fifth until asked. The food was very bland and overpriced. My steak on my kale salad was terribly cut and made it hard to cut with the knife I had to get for myself from the table next to me since we couldn't get the server's attention. Also it was weird that when I went to pay for the bill for the table, I got five individual tickets instead of one big one. Overall, I'm sure it's a great place for a drink but won't be going back.
With the exception of the manager, Dan, this place was a disaster. We waited for 45 minutes and never got a menu or saw a server. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks and to ask for a server to come over twice. The food was slow once we placed our order, and they were out of two of the items we wanted to order. Dan was very gracious and comped all of our food but it was a hot mess!
We were a group of 7 ladies in town for a Bachelorette. Of all the restaurants we ate at over the weekend, Weather Mark Tavern was a stand out. Kayla was a very attentive and accommodating server, and did not disappoint in the prompt refills of our bottomless mimosas (which was one of the drawing forces to us coming there for brunch). The food was amazing and the décor unique. We even posted on Facebook about our experience there and received a "thank you" comment directly from the restaurant. Definitely above and beyond. Would love to return if in the Chicago area again! Thanks for a great brunch experience! :)
Some of the worst service I've experienced. Went with family that came in from out of town and it was a poor choice. It took over 20 minutes to receive a cup...for brunch! And don't even think about getting a refill. That took another 20 minutes to receive. The food was mediocre at best. All our waters were empty and when the waitress did stop back she never once asked if we'd like more. I'd say this is a rarity at Weathermark, but as a local resident I've been there multiple times as the service has always been horrific. Wish this would improve because it is a decent atmosphere and has a convenient location.
This sailing themed pub has great food at a good price, solid service and a decent selection of beers. The rum list is outstanding, befitting a sailing establishment, and consequently so are the cocktails.
I have been absent from the Weathermark for some time, having moved away, but was pleased to find it remains fundamentally the same outstanding neighborhood gem. Worth crossing town for, will be back in the near future!
I especially enjoyed the comfortable lighting, ambiance, and decor. The draft beer selection had several good craft beer options. The menu was creative yet not overwhelming -- it had a few items that stood out to me, trouble deciding what to get, which is good. The service was attentive, friendly, and accomodating - there were a couple miscommunications but were quickly resolved. We had a decent size group and everyone seemed happy with their food choices. I would recommend this place for those looking for a place in the area.
I really hoped I'd like this place. When I walked in I wasn't greeted by anyone. I just walked up to a server and told her I have a reservation and she just responded "oh sit wherever". A great deal of the items on the menu were unavailable. My +1 wanted french toast - which was out - or eggs benedict - but they didn't have hollandaise... and what's a benedict without hollandaise? My +1 wound up getting the traditional breakfast which was very underwhelming. The ambiance was pretty awkward (very empty, some sports on tvs, no music, or noise really at all).
The signature waffle with the omelette was pretty good and crispy, but my waitress didn't bring me syrup until I was already mostly finished eating my waffle. About 40 minutes into brunch she came back and confirmed my reservation which wasn't on the list so she had me sign my name with a number. Very weird experience overall. I've had much better brunches.
Went there on Mother's Day. They were out of their homemade waffles and we were the first people in the restaurant. They were also out of wheat toast?? Had to change my order from the south side scrambler, which I like and includes the waffle to another item and then the waitress told me I could have marble rye toast, which was terrible and not even hot.
Held a women's brunch at this location - not very busy on a Saturday which was great! Was able to hold a conversation with my friends very easily. General brunch fare served. Street parking was not too difficult. Not near a train line (CTA Roosevelt is about 6 blocks away) but several CTA buses are available.
The food was decent and the beer list lengthy. Only issue was we ordered and then waited a long time for our food to arrive. (Other people came in after us and were served and left before us). This would not have been an issue if we had not been there with a 3 year old. Thankfully, the puppies on the patio and blackboard tables and chalk kept her entertained.
Arrived at 10:30. Restaurant opens at 10:30. Had to wait for kitchen to be prepared. They also changed their menu from what is online. So what I had my taste buds all set for was no longer a menu item. Someone wanted waffles and was told had to wait for it to heat up. I went for brunch but instead had lunch. Not too excited about my visit here.
Made reservations for 1:45. My daughter arrived early and said the rest of us were on the way from a huge public event that just ended. At 1:47 the manager asked my daughter to leave table and he gave it to another party. Our entire party arrived at 1:55 and the manager said we'd have to wait 1 hour for another table. Will never return to this establishment.
