Small portions, mediocre waitress, taste was good. Way too loud.
Hostess seated our party of 4 adults next to a birthday party of 20 teenagers when there were several empty tables nearby. The table was also dirty and we had to ask for a rag to clean it.
Although our waitress was very friendly service was very slow. Not sure that it was her fault but way too slow getting food & drinks.
The service was great but the hot tea was warm and weak and the soup was cool. Tasty food and you can see the ocean!
Oysters and chowder were fabulous. Other items ordered were just okay.
Even though we had a reservation, we were treated like walk-ins without great table locations. The food was enjoyable, waiter was friendly.
My friends and I come here to catch up and relax. The food is great - simple and fresh - and wine Wednesdays make it perfect for us to get a bottle of wine to share.
Great, fun service and knowledgeable staff. Flair is fresh and healthy/non-healthy depending on your order. I enjoyed it and our dinner was very enjoyable. I would go back! Fast service also and our server was sooo friendly and nice. He made sure everything was to our satisfaction!
Good food! A bit chilly & very loud! Excellent service, offer blankets for comfort!
I was very dissatisfied with the food. I did not realize how small the portions were. When I brunch I want equal food and booze. The owner was very nnice and professional
Very chaotic - food and drinks came out one at a time and very slow. Waiter seemed really stressed out and the whole place seems chaotic and disorganized.
Small plates are very small and really not enough to share. Some were good (wings, polenta sticks) some were really bad ( mac and cheese - horrible). Would not go back.
Food was "OK" - best item was the cauliflower side believe it or not. Their custom cocktails were not good at all - sweet, very little alcohol, and overpriced - server did nothing about it when asked and then misquoted the price of the dirty martini's that we ordered. Salmon portion was likely less than 2 oz. Guess they can get away with this in a resort destination.
This place was a nice change of pace from the usual fare of flatbread, burgers, and fried calamari. As the name suggests the specialize in oysters which were very good but there are also plenty of options for people who don't have a taste for them.
Great place. Food is amazing. A little pricey depending on what you order.
Charles was awesome as our waiter he was great
We liked the service and it was a good place for kids, but we don't recommend the seafood. I would stick to the small bite portion of the menu. The sliders were great and the fries. Kids' meals were also tasty, but pass on the clam chowder.
I have dined here several times and the food is usually good, reasonably priced and they offer some interesting items on the menu. This recent dining experience was disappointing, mainly because the servers were understaffed. Too few servers working on a Friday night made no sense. I felt sorry for our server- he apologized for very slow service, but it was not his fault.
This was our first time there, it was so bad. We waited 15 mins before we saw our server . Then they messed our drink order. The food was aweful, I hate wasting food but we left alot on the table. It was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. The hostess Katie was awesome, to watch she was hussling and doing what the GM and assistant mgr should of been doing. We saw the managers just walk by didn't say anything or help the hostess.
Enjoyed our meal as always and our Waiter was Terrific!!!
Celebrated my daughter's birthday and had great food- salad, beef, , appetizers everything was so good! We had excellent service and all the servers were friendly. If you want to go to a place with good food and have fun with friends this would be the perfect place.
Great food and vibe! I like the small plates style. And our server was super nice and funny.
Great food! Wonderful service!
Beautiful ocean view!
After having a nice breakfast there, I was very disappointed about dinner. Both food quality and menu choices were bad. If you like to load up on carbs, then it is a place to go.
I took my 16 year-old son out for dinner while my wife and other son were out of town. We had a great time. The ambiance was fun and lively; the service was great; and the food was original and very tasty. My son tried oysters for the very first time and he loved them! We had nine separate dishes that we shared “family style” and had plenty of left-overs to take home. I highly recommend for all occasions.
Our server Alyse was THE best. She made our night.
We ended up being at Ways and Means for 5 hours on Saturday. Our waitress was very accommodating and friendly. The polenta was fantastic as usual. One of my friends had 2 bowls of the clam chowder because it was so good. Our second time visiting the restaurant and it was slow for Veteran's day so we were able to linger. They were just out of the Blonde beer so that's my only complaint.
I have eaten here several times however this was the first brunch. One person's bread came out with mold on it. Service was inconsistent and the food was mediocre at best. It was cold and windy. The heaters weren't working. Disappointed. Won't be back
Extremely slow food service. Dishes look good. But very mediocre tasting.
This was our first visit to Ways and Means and we were very pleased. We started of with the oysters and the were fantastic. They serve most of their meals in small plates. We loved the lobster mac and cheese. The deviled were good but not great. Our waitress was more than friendly and helpful. She way checking in on us to make sure were taken care of during our meal.
I have been to W&M for brunch and had a wonderful experience. This last visit was disappointing with the exception of service, which was beyond exceptional from the hostess to our waiter. Both were engaging and sincere.
While waiting for another friend to join, we ordered the mac & cheese and polenta sticks as appetizers. Beyond both tasting bland, the mac and cheese was soupy...not in a cheesy way. Rather than having dinner here, we settled our bill and left.
Visited for a friends birthday and was seated quickly with our reservation at a great table on the patio but the problem was it was next to a party of 10 and to loud to have a conversation. They moved us inside which was great but still very loud with background noise. Brunch was nice Mimosa's very yummy as well as the Bloody Mary. Brunch portions are small and even with a few tapas we all went home hungry. For $19.00 for eggs benedict you had a cocktail plate with two small portions of egg benedict nothing else. Sliders $16.00 two bite size sliders with a few fries. Lobster Roll was good but we thought it was crab. Maybe next time happy hour.
Server was excellent.
Our overall experience was okay at best. Our waitress was very sweet, but spent very little time at our table. We had a party of 6 and our total bill was about $240 and we all left hungry. Our party was there for about 2 1/2 hours and the water was only refilled once. The restaurant did not look full by any means. The vodka had a funny taste to it and the spirits menu was difficult to follow.
We had ordered the crab cakes and received the crab sliders, which we were not charged for.
The oysters and wings were the best thing about our meal.
Donny was great. The food was awesome and the champagne and dessert (comped) was great. Happy anniversary to my wife and I.
Well, our server Lisa was great, she did the best she could with all the tables she had. Our ouster’s tasted good but not not entirely cleaned well including the shooters, they were gritty. The food we ordered taste wise was good but nothing came hot including the bacon wrapped shrimp. The manager dropped off our oysters first but didn’t bring us oyster forks and didn’t even notice we had no set ups till we pointed it out. They went looking all over for some and brought one and said they were looking for more! What?! This is an oyster bar! Btw the restaurant was not full. We waited a very long time for our bill and then Just as long for it to be picked up . When we were leaving there was no one up front to validate parking so I had to walk to the back of the restaurant behind the bar to find the manager who didn’t realize that no one was up front, he was busy chatting it up with two other staff. By the time we got out our validation didn’t completely cover our parking time.
Looks great from the outside but disappointed by the inside. They need to step up their game😟
Great food, tapas style, and great service. Highly recommended.
Overall food is very good for the money. These are small plates for sharing and most of the items are very good. If you are a big eater who expect large portions, this is not the place for you. However if you like to try a lot of different foods and items with a good cocktail, wine or beer. The service and the food are of good value.
Great lobster special and baked oysters. Service was excellent.
Food was great! Our waiter was on top of it! Great service! The manager is always so nice and stops by to say "hi". You can't beat bottomless champagne brunch too!
Very open, inviting restaurant in Pacific City. Great for people watching. Food is wonderful and the cool ocean breeze is the best! Everything is small plate so it's perfect for trying different items on the menu and sharing.
We celebrated a birthday and Ways & Means and are so glad we chose this restaurant. Our server was exceptionally sweet, attentive and accommodating. We typically dine in large groups and order family style. She was able to provide stellar recommendations so that everyone at the table could find something they liked. The only criticism I have is for the bar. The drinks were fantastic but came well into meal plates being served, even though they were ordered first. Thank you for a memorable dinner!
Charlton is an attentive server w gracious hospitality. The crab cake sliders are excellent. Shrimp tacos and plantains are dry-ish, but my guest said her fish taco was better than the shrimp and steak and potatoes dish was good. Sitting outside is fun to people watch and feel the ocean breeze.
