Waypoint Seafood & Grill Ratings and Reviews
What a great meal! My wife and I totally enjoyed our dinner here and will most definitely be back. We have also already recommended it to friends that arrived in Williamsburg after we had dined there. We started with a fantastic bisque(!!)and then shared 6 oysters made the Waypoint Way(!!) For our main my wife had a fantastic seafood medley while I tried and loved the evenings veal special. The restaurant was crowded but not loud and the ambience was very nice. We also felt the the price was right for the quality and overall experience of the evening.
We have traveled to Colonial Williamsburg on several occasions and as a result have eaten at several restaurants in the area. This is now our favorite restaurant by far!
We were visiting Williamsburg for a family wedding weekend. We met friends for lunch here and had a very enjoyable meal. The service was excellent, as was the food. We would definitely go back to this spot. I'd like to try it for dinner. We discovered their dinner menu illuminates!
This is our go-to restaurant in Williamsburg! Whenever we make it down to Williamsburg we always make it a point to go with friends to the Waypoint. I have enjoyed every meal i have eaten there and the staff couldn't be anymore welcoming. We always look forward to Octoberfest.
The food was excellent! Our entrees were pork tenderloin medallions with crab on top and a mustard sauce and shrimp with pasta. Lots of fresh, tasty vegetables in both dishes. Fried oyster appetizer and salads were wonderful too. Service was terrific. We will be going back to this restaurant the next time we are in Williamsburg! They have a great chef.
I mentioned a pasta dish which was delicious and on the dinner menu, and the waitress managed to have it available for us for lunch. That is exceptional service!!! I love this restaurant. It is like eating at a private dining club. All the food is both traditional and innovative and exceptionally well prepared, and the staff makes you feel as if you are the most important person who is in the dining room.
I had lunch there with two good friends and hadn't been there in several months. I was surprised by the fried oysters which were always outstanding; this time they were not as good. I even wrote management but never heard back. The two entrees my friends had were very good.
Waypoint has become our favorite restaurant in Williamsburg, VA so much so that my husband and I booked dinner reservations there 3 days out of our 6 day vacation!! The food is excellent and the dining experience is made all the more enjoyable with a wonderful staff of personable, knowledgeable and attentive servers who ensure the diners' needs are met. Can't wait to return!!
I've had lunch at Waypoint several times with friends and every time it's been wonderful. The food is creative , imaginative, and fresh and the portion sizes are perfect. The atmosphere is serene and the servers are so attentive and helpful. I'll be keeping Waypoint at the top of my "lunch with friends" list, in fact I'm returning with another friend on Thursday! (by the way, the desserts are TO DIE FOR...)
It was our first visit and we would definitely return. I had the Mahi Mahi special which was excellent. I enjoyed the Crab Jalapeño bisque very much. For dessert I had the special homemade mocha and blackberry ice cream. I found it light and refreshing. Our waiter was wonderful, very friendly and very helpful. I am embarrassed that I cannot remember his name.
I made a reservation about two weeks ago to take my husband out for brunch on Fathers Day.
The reservation was for 11:00am, which I discovered upon arriving, was the first seating.
I should mention we noticed a floor sign listing Sunday brunch had been crossed through and scribbled in only for special events.
For a starter, we both ordered a cup of tomato and crab jalapeño bisque. It was very good, and the petite sweet cornbread muffins complimented the bisque.
I ordered the Waypoint eggs Benedict, and my husband ordered the Waypoint Frogmore stew; a seafood combination of mussels, shrimp, and swordfish.
It took a little longer between the bisque and the brunch entree than expected, and our server apologized. We weren't in a hurry so we assured her it wasn't a concern.
When our food arrived the presentation was nice and looked appetizing. My food was good but the temperature wasn't hot enough to my liking. It apparently had been plated and sitting longer than it should.
My husband's stew was the real issue as it was so salty it was not edible. There was no flavor to any of the seafoods as all of it tasted the same due to the extreme saltiness. It was as if a salt brine had been used for the dish.
He ended up sending it back. In the end, he didn't order anything else as I was 2/3rd of the way finished with my meal. Needless to say, the experience was disappointing, especially since it was for Fathers Day.
Management apologized and did not charge us for the entire meal.
The food and service were excellent. The restuarant is located within a small shopping mall in a rather secluded area away from the center of Williamsburg. Although I was eating at 7:30 or so, there were no young people. But the fish was well worth going out of the way for.
Restaurant is ok. Food was fine, nothing special. Service was fine. Priced a little high for what you get. Desserts were a little stale and seemingly mismatched with the exception of orange cake which was very good. Went for a birthday but there was no acknowledgement of special occasion by the restaurant. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but it's fine if you're looking for a place to eat.
