Waypoint Seafood and Grill always has local seafood, a great staff and reasonable prices. A restaurant worth the drive.
We had a wonderful meal at Waypoint. My salmon was prepared perfectly and was, without a doubt, the best that I have ever had. Our experienced server was totally on the mark -- efficient and unobtrusive. Waypoint Seafood and Grill is highly recommended.
Could not have been more enjoyable. Accommodating from beginning to end regarding inclusion or not to entrees, wines or sides. Jody is the best wait/server encountered in many years. Delightful conversation, knowledge of wines, menu and recepie ingredients, plus area information. Have always enjoyed visits before, but lunch was outstanding all around.
One of the very top restaurants in Williamsburg. Halibut outstanding. Christine best waitress ever. Howard is a Gem.
Wonderfully attentive staff, quiet enough for a good visit and a terrific lunch.
Can not say enough about the quality of the food and the excellence of the service. One of Williamsburg's very best.
They consistently have delicious food and outstanding service. Waypoint is our neighborhood restaurant and we are so lucky to have such a wonderful one. The service is attentive without being in the way of your privacy. Their roasted tomato, crab and jalapeño bisque is a great way to start a meal, not too hot. The shellfish and grits is one of my favorites and, without a doubt, they have the best soft-shell crabs in town! I have been there with 2 people or twenty and they never disappoint.
Food was great. Server and owner were awesome. Waypoint oysters are a must.
Staff very friendly and helpful. High quality food.
The best don’t miss this place! Varied menu with terrific seafood! Tommy Leggett oysters, amazing local variety that are delicious! Each of the servers are outstanding, ask for Rachel or Eric!
Excellent. Creative cuisine. Delivery of entree was a bit slow but we didn’t mind.
Interesting dining room design, excellent service and fantastically delicious seafood! As an oyster lover, the oysters starter with fried onion rings is "out of this world!"
The restaurant was nice, our first time there. Service was excellent. My one complaint was the catch of the day white fish used in the sesame dish was almost flavorless. I don't recall the type of fish used, had never heard of it, but the taste was basically just a ginger sesame soy sauce. We were told the fish had a sweet flavor similar to crab or lobster. If so, I didn't taste it. My wife said the same thing about hers. We decided to try it based on the server's recommendation. The presentation was nice, but that was a lot of money to spend for flavorless fish. If we go back, I'll be ordering something else off the menu.
The food, service and ambiance could not have been nicer. We will be back often.
Met up with friends for dinner in Williamsburg (all from out of the area meeting for an event in the area) and just picked a restaurant "out of a (OpenTable) hat" - WHAT A MARVELOUS FIND! Excellent menu/food, service - it was an old-fashioned, service as a career done with professional care experience. It was the perfect start to a wonderful weekend; next time we're in Williamsburg, we'll return. In the meantime, we'll recommend this to those headed there.
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent, Excellent, Excellent
We have dined at Waypoint several times while visiting the Williamsburg, VA area. It is clearly our favorite. The atmosphere is welcoming and the food is excellent. We almost always go with the seafood options but on our last visit had steaks and no surprise they were excellent as well. Christine is an absolutely lovely server and her smile and welcoming attitude make you feel like you are dining with your best friends. The chef goes beyond expectations and makes our son clams even if not on the menu when they have them available - no other restaurant does this! Don't forget the desserts they are wonderful.
Without a doubt, the BEST restaurant in Williamsburg!! Food is great and serving staff couldn’t be better!
This restaurant had a very nice environment--elegant, quiet, new, upscale. The food was very good, but being a "seafood" restaurant, we found the seafood variety and choices a bit diminutive. In fact, my pork tenderloin was excellent, something I did not expect at this restaurant. But overall a good experience.
My very elderly Mother in law had a wonderful time. She loves good food and wonderful service, we had both with this experience.
Just an outstanding resturant! The raw oysters are from Tommy Leggitt and are the best and very local. The Williamsburg crab cake is the best! Don’t miss this place! All the servers are excellent, but my favorite is Rebecca.
Fresh local ingredients prepared very well! The wait staff is professional and attentive. Overall, this is a great dining experience in the area. Go and enjoy!
We went to Waypoint Grille to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary and it was excellent. My wife had the schnitzel and I had the crab cakes, both were amazing. We also ordered the Charcuterie which also excellent. The servers have an outstanding knowledge of the menu and were very helpful. A picture of our desert is included. Highly recommended!
Had the salmon and crab cakes. Both were very tasty meals with nice sides. The fruit tart dessert was excellent.
Was first visit but will go back.
What fun to have a bartender who’s willing to take a chance making a new martini. Our friends from out of town were very impressed. My dinner was not up to their usual standards and it was removed from the check which we thought was very classy.
Made reservation a week prior to dinner. I told them I had a reservation from OpenTable. They couldn't find it and said I probably made it for Way Point in Arizona. I double checked and my reservation was for Williamsburg, Virgina. It wasn't busy, though, so we were seated without waiting, anyways.
The food and service was good. Good place for special occasions. A bit pricey, but that's normal for this type of restaurant.
On my trip down to Williamsburg to collect my college student, I took my son and two of his friends to Waypoint for dinner. This was my second visit, having had a delicious lunch there during our Easter visit. Our waitress, Maria, was friendly, helpful and attentive. The jalapeño calamari appetizer was a big hit and I enjoyed the special soup - a tomato tortilla soup with crab. My special fish dinner with risotto was very tasty and the boys enjoyed their entrees - rib eye steak, crab cakes and the special veal short ribs. Overall a delicious dinner in very pleasant surroundings! We will be back!
Guest from Atlanta wanted to treat us to a favorite place in Williamsburg so we chose you. She thoroughly enjoyed her scallops and homemade coconut ice cream for dessert.
Conveniently located to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. Fresh and tasty ingredients. Not overpowered by sauces, so I could enjoy the fresh clean flavors of roasted beet. Pear, and goatcheese salad. Delicious local lump crab cakes with mostly crab. Superb and friendly service. Simple, but nice decor. Great place to enjoy my birthday after a day at Colonial Williamsburg. I strongly recommend.
It was a great time and place to spend an leisurely afternoon. The service is friendly and attentive. The food is moderately priced and delicious. It has a varied menu of fish and meats. While not extensive, the menu is varied and attractive.
Military family celebrating a weekend together. A very high quality dinner. Will come back often.
The food was wonderful and the wine selection outstanding. Had a great Pino Noir.
Great like always.
I loved having Schnitzel and Spaetzel as an option on the seafood menu. Waiter offered two different sauces. I had the Schnitzel with Jaeger Sauce, a brown sauce with wild mushrooms. Nice wine selections are available by the glass. Charles Krug Merlot went very well with the Jaeger Schnitzel! My husband was very happy with the Lamb Shank and French Pinot Noir he ordered
While visiting Williamsburg we searched OpenTable for local restaurants. The waypoint reviews were outstanding so we gave it a try. Everything about our experience was amazing. The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. The crab cakes were some of the best I've ever had
Great food. Outstanding service.
Second time at Waypoint. An altogether great experience
We came for our anniversary and they did an amazing job making us feel special and welcome. Our food came out quickly and our waitress was great. She made sure to refill our drinks and noticed every detail. We felt like everyone from the hostess to the chef did everything possible to make the dining experience pleasurable. The appetizers were outstanding. The main entrees were very good and desserts were delicious. We were happy with our dining experience and they were welcoming of our little one who slept through the meal.
Service excellent. Food excellent. Only complaint would be the menu needs a little more variety
Very comfortable and pleasing dining room. Server was very friendly and helpful. Both dishes we well prepared and delicious. Relaxing atmosphere and very good food.
