Waypoint Seafood & Grill
Warm inviting interior. Excellent food and drink. Staff very friendly, attentive, and professional in providing great customer service. Nice location for special occasion and celebration events.
The Waypoint lived up to our rather high expectations. The ambience is lovey, and it’s so nice to actually be able to talk to friends over dinner. Our waiter, Eric, was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. And the food was delicious. A special shout out goes to the restaurant for its innovative “light up” menus. Perfect!
Food is ALWAYS perfect with great taste and presentation. The service this time was less enthusiastic. The server actual appeared not interested in their job. The noise level at the bar was extremely loud for a Wednesday night.
Waypoint never disappoints. The service and food are wonderful - the best of everything without being stuffy or pompous. It is always a great experience - we highly recommend it.
Great meal with friends. We enjoyed oysters waypoint way and seafood grits. Friends loved Octoberfest menudo. Our go to restaurant in williamsburg.
Excellent meal. Best we have in 4 days in Williamsburg. Great staff, great chef and a fantastic dinner.
Excellent food and service! We will definitely go back
Always a nice, quiet restaurant to visit with fun specialty cocktails, friendly and efficient waitstaff and tasty selections of well prepared foods.
Waypoint is our favorite restaurant for special occasions. Reservation made through Open Table. Reservation was noted as an 'Anniversary'. We were seated in the corner of a room off the main dining room. My wife's view was of a blank wall. We have never been seated in that room. Wait staff forgot our appetizer order. Later when reminded they apologized and took the appetizer off of our bill. The food was outstanding.
Overall the evening was a disappointment. Good meal, lousy seating, and unimpressive wait staff.
We left with the impression that Open Table reservations put you in a different category than a local reservation. Might not be the case but won't make a reservation with Waypoint through Open Table again.
Dined with my wife while visiting Williamsburg. Entrees excellent, but my desert (crème brulee) was disappointing. Server was attentive and knowledgeable.
Two of us had the chicken schnitzel lunch and all was excellent. The coating was succulent, done just right to be crispy and the server, Eric, brought finely textured sauce to add. Cucumber salad and sweet potato pomme frites made for a meal that reminded us of our meals overlooking the Mosel in Germany.
This was a great find. The food and service were exceptional.
My experience at waypoint seafood & Grill was great. My wife and I had a great time. Food and service was great. I will most definitely come back when I am in the area
Waypoint was a good find. The service was extraordinary. The food was largely very good. The calimari was among the best I've had; cooked and seasoned perfectly. My wife had the schnitzel, which she loved. I had the shrimp and scallop pasta. Both were cooked perfectly, but the pasta was a bit doughy. But that was the only negative aspect of the whole evening. Would definitely recommend.
The service and food where outstanding. With that said I noticed throughout the night that I man stopped at almost ever table, asked how things where chatted a moment and even came back to some tables about every 15 min. Not once did he stop and ask me or my wife how things were. I guess that we didn't look like we had a lot of money so he didn't need to talk to us. With that said, we will probally not return based on his treatment to my famliy.
Went there for lunch ,wonderful our waitress was knowledgeable and not pushy ,my girlfriend and i just wanted one of their awesome appetizers and sparkling rose no problem love this place for lunch friendly staff and great atmosphere.
Had a phenomenal experience here, celebrating our anniversary with a quick getaway. The staff was incredibly attentive and the food was fantastic. Terrific oysters (both raw and prepared 'house' style) and two great entrees: the seafood pappardelle and shellfish and grits. Our server was outstanding. All in all, definitely worth a return trip when next in town.
WONDERFUL food, schnitzel for one of us, seafood for the others, all very fresh and so well prepared and presented. Service was perfect and so was the wine. Waypoint is always a good choice!
We have eaten here three times since we moved from Warrenton, Virginia in Fauquier County. Once for lunch and twice for dinner. All three times were great! Our latest was a combination of my wife’s birthday and our 51st wedding anniversary. All was good and the food was very tasty! Our waiter was okay but not overly friendly but we did not come for great service but for great food which we had.....crab cakes and mahi mahi. Try this place for a special dinner in Williamsburg, but not a routine dinner as this is a special restaurant.
Best veal schnitzel anywhere, although we prefer the sauce on the side. Other, it overwhelms the dish. Husband loved the oysters. Fruit crisp for dessert was amazing. It’s fairly expensive to eat here, so p, unfortunately, we only treat ourselves about once a year.
Waypoint is our GO TO place for special occasions. Once again, on our anniversary no less, we were dazzled by the ambience, professional, knowledgeable and courteous staff. The venison is simply the best I have ever had. And I grew up hunting and have eaten venison cooked every conceivable way, some good and some not so much. My wife had the schnitzel, great choice as well. You owe it to yourself to try Waypoint and make your own assessment. In my opinion, it is the BEST restaurant in Williamsburg.
Lovely atmosphere and great service. My son was looking forward to fish and chips which we found out was only for lunch. The server asked the chef and he agreed to cook it for my son for dinner. we were all very pleased. The bread and accompaniments were great, particularly the bread and butter pickles. Generally, the entrees were very good except for mine which had shrimp, lobster and scallops over cheesy grits. The shrimp and lobster was tasteless and tough. I've grown up with grits all my life and these were not good and definitely not cheesy. The dish was underwhelming and very disappointing. The desserts were very good.
The service was exceptional! When my salmon arrived at the table, it was very over salted. When I told our server, he took it away with grace and replaced it immediately. The manager, Howard, came over, apologized profusely and the sent us an amazing dessert. The food was overall very good, but major kudos for the service!!!
Great crabcakes, bread, and sorbet; relaxing atmosphere, attentive and welcoming server.
Very friendly greeting upon entering Waypoint. Prompt and friendly waitstaff that were very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. This included the specials for the evening. The courses were presented at the appropriate time. The appetizers and the entrees were excellent. In this case it was the gazpacho and the gumbo for appetizers and the crab cakes and the shellfish and grits entrees. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
The menu had wonderful choices. The service was top notch. We were not rushed which is a good thing! The wine list was adequate. It was nice to find a elegant restaurant where everything from Manager Howard, waiter James, atmosphere, food and drink exceeded our expectations. We will certainly visit again the next time we travel to Williamsburg.
Food was good, but portions were too small. My Daughter’s $35 steak was particularly disappointing. Everyone in my party was hungry within 2 hours.
A pleasant dinner for my wife and myself: salad was outstanding; soup was a little too spicy; entrée was creative and tasty, but too large; we didn't have dessert.
The wine pairing brunch was great.. everything food, wines, service and other guests,, Real fun time.
Waypoint never ceases to meet/exceed expectations. The foods is outstanding with solid service from an attentive, but not overbearing wait staff. This hidden gem is one of Williamsburg's finest.
Awesome service and food. Always love this restaurant!
Nice place , food brought out too soon after appetizers . Little pricy for being in a strip mall setting
Excellent restaurant - food and service. Will be back.
Absolutely amazing!!! My husband and I had a rare night without our children and decided to visit Waypoint Grill. What a great decision! The entire experience was excellent. Our oyster appetizer was perfectly prepared and delicious. We both had the crab cake dinner, which also was perfection on a plate. We were too stuffed to enjoy dessert, but they were awfully tempting. Our server was terrific, attentive, and kind. We will definitely return!!
Just the best seafood around Williamsburg and the service is terrific.
Dinner here makes for a perfect evening out.
Fried oysters in a Caesar salad or a treat to behold! I don’t usually write reviews but this one deserves five stars! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I took my girlfriend to Waypoint because she's gluten-free and doesn't eat meat. Seafood is always a great choice for her and she was excited as soon as I told her where we were going. The food definitely lived up to our expectations. She loved the scallops and I loved the surf and turf. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the gluten-free options and was helpful during the entire meal. We will definitely be going back to Waypoint.
Seafood and grits is always a favorite. We never fail to start with Oysters Waypoint way. Byron B our server to request on a Saturday night.
