Wayfare Tavern
All three floors of the restaurant have been designed keeping historical accuracy in mind making Wayfare Tavern reminiscent of a Victorian parlor and an Edwardian men's club, where anything goes from black-tie to blue jeans. Pull up a stool to the Chef's Counter at the open kitchen and look on as Chef prepares your lunch or head to the Library and Billiard Room for a game of pool. Wayfare Tavern is a truly unparalleled dining experience translated from a century ago. Photo: John Lee.

Wanted to enjoy a delicious meal before Pandemic stay at hone order in December.
From start to finish everything was wonderful as always. Look forward to when we can dine inside again in this beautiful restaurant !
Food is amazing and staff is like family. They have worked hard to keep up their high standards during the Pandemic.
Good food, great location and awesome service. Definitely a solid lunch spot.
Last night of outdoor dining before shut down and it was an incredible and safe experience from start to finish. Our waiter was very professional and did a great job. The food is amazing and high quality. Will definitely be back if it stays open
Probably one of the best if not the best meal I’ve had in my life! Loved every single thing I tried. Popovers, deviled eggs, pumpkin gnocchi, the fried chicken, burrata whipped potatoes, Mac and cheese! I was lucky enough to taste all of these. Every single thing was amazing!
Wonderful dinner outside. It was warm enough with the heat lamps and always good service!
Felted save at time of dinning, contactless ordering with great food selections. Great burger and wine selections with exceptional service as always.
Great staff, good food. Eating in the side alleyway is not that good, but they have done the best they could with Covid
Had a 4:45 PM reservation under the tented outdoor dining area. Started with the Mushroom flatbread and broccoli cream soup. Perfect! Then had the buttermilk crispy chicken that I had heard so much about with the side of mash potatoes. Could not finish the chicken, they give you about 5 large pcs. Wait Service was on top of their game! Parking is easy breezy...will be back again! Oh P.S. Finished the evening with the Pumpkin cheesecake that was the best ever! This place does not disappoint!! Hats off to the House Manager Bryan!
The food was amazing and the service was excellent. We were seated outside due to BS Covid-19 restrictions but still had a wonderful experience.
Nice outdoor space in the making
All three entrees were terrible. I have eaten there a lot and was surprised by this.
Chilly! But wonderful anyway. Food was still great, love the waitstaff, they’ve really done a great job through COVID.
Had a birthday celebration at Wayfare Tavern 2 nights before the dine-in rollback. Safety protocols in place which provided indoor dining confidence. Service was attentive and cordial. The house warm popover was delightful. The Caesar salad was crisp, the famous fried chicken deserved every compliment, the brussel sprouts were okay, and the house made donuts is a must to end the meal. Overall an excellent dining experience.
Food was great but service was terrible. Waited forever for drinks/menu/food orders. And it wasn't even busy! We sat inside instead of our original reservation outside because it was cold. Not sure I'd go back.
Loving the outdoor dining space -- thank you to Wayfare team for making it all work!
Thank you for accomodating us outside and being so attentive. :o)
Really good food. The burrata mashed potatoes are a must.
Great food and perfect seasonal presentation. Server was knowledgeable and efficient. Enjoyed the whole experience-Wayfare has maintained its quality through the pandemic
We ordered the hamburgers with a sunny side up egg and avocado. Unfortunately it was freezing in the restaurant, so much so that we ordered coffee to warm us up. The hamburgers came before the coffee. We ate fast since we didn’t want our food to get cold. The food was great, however we couldn’t figure out why the temperature inside was freezing. Due to the current health situation we give a lot of latitude, however service was mediocre at best and rather than enjoying our lunch we left as quick as we could since it was too cold.
Update your account with Open Table. You were listed as serving brunch and no brunch menu was available. Service was very slow.
Cold outside other wise delightful
It was cold and there were no quality heaters. Food became cold quickly; popups were hard; chairs were uncomfortable; service was intermittent
We enjoyed our meal and the cocktails were exceptional. The service was impeccable, with friendly staff and servers. Yes, the chicken is one of the best dishes!
Great fried chicken. Very spacious outdoor dining in alley next to restaurant.
Birthdays and other special occasions
Rude in every sense of the word front of house experience.
It was ok. Prices high but what else can one expect in SF and with Covid? Nice to be able to eat out Yom a nice day.
Best fried chicken in all of San Fran! Outside dining was very nice and all safety measure taken.
Always a wonderful experience. Popovers! Deviled eggs! Mussels! Cocktails! Loved the outdoor dining. Really pretty setting. Felt very safe. Highly highly recommend.
Food is amazing, service is top notch, and they are doing a great job during these difficult times. The beef tartare is a favorite. Fried chicken is enough for a full extra take home meal. We love the cocktails before dinner too. They do everything well!
Repeat diner, always good, except white napkins shedding lint, server gave us black napkins, no shedding, braised pork shank was dry, I expected meat to fall off the bone, server noticed I only took one bite and took the dish off our bill, despite of these issues. still a great place to eat and will come back again
Wayfare Tavern's hamburger is just excellent. It was nice to sit outside,
Ordered the broccoli soup which was disappointedly bland and on the slightly warm side. Which being seated by the open door where cold air blew in, a hot soup would have been nice. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich as well. The chicken was crunchy, well seasoned, delish. The bun seemed stale and fell apart while eating. It was a miss this time on my second visit here.
Service was bad, no smile, server seems to be in the wrong industry
Excellent service from top to bottom. The ambiance and food were outstanding. We had a party of 6 for a birthday. The staff was very sweet and gave a birthday card for our girls, who were sharing a birthday.
Salmon this time. Exceptional. Very rare with very crisp skin.
I like that they had outdoor dining in the alleyway. The food was good. The chicken was yummy tender and crispy. The sakmon cooked perfectly. The whipped potatos super creamy.
Like always. Good food and great service. This is, so far our place to go for a date. They never disappoint us.
Thank you Bradley for a perfect service.
We LOVE this restaurant. We did the neighborhood pickups and as soon as they opened, got a reservation! Tyler Florence does NOT dissappoint, EVER! See you soon!
