Waverly's Steak House - Cannery Casino & Hotel Ratings and Reviews
Our tradition is to celebrate Valentine's Day at Waverly Steakhouse (4th year). Food is delicious and servers are exrtemely friendly and attentive. However, this is the first year we were totally disgusted by the wait time for our table and the seemingly disorganization. Our reservation was for 6 pm. We were finally seated at our table at 6:43. Other waiting couples were also irate.
We have eaten here several times & received great service & food. We went on Valentines Day for the first time this year. It was sweet they gave roses & chocolates to all the ladies but our server & food this trip was nothing short of awful. The medium well steak was brought out rare. We could not find the server anywhere to take it back for over 15 minutes. Then we were pretty much forgotten about. My husband interrupted him at another table to tell him to cancel it because the rest of us were done with our meals. Then he brings the re-cooked food to the table to ask if he was sure “he didn’t want it”. It took forever to get the check then even longer to wrap it up. After all of this no manager came to ease the situation. They were all focused on turning tables. We have removed Waverly’s from our list of go to restaurants.
We are never disappointed when we dine here. We had an early Valentine's dinner to avoid the crowds on Valentine's Day & had a leisurely dinner in a quiet setting. The service was as always exceptional with Frederick anticipating our every need. The food was wonderful with the steak and salmon exactly as ordered. Its's our favorite steakhouse for special occasions or for just a nice dinner for the two of us.
Our dinner at Waverly's Steak House was wonderful as always. I had the filet, it is always cooked to perfection. My husband and brother each tried different dishes on the new value menu. My brother had the brisket and he said it was very good. My husband had the pot pie, he said it was quite tasty but he thought it a bit rich for his taste. The value menu comes with salad and several other side dishes making it a real value for a nice steakhouse. Besides the food being consistently scrumptious, our server, Frederick, is consistently the best server in North Las Vegas!
My husband and I order filet mignon medium. Mine came out rate, his rare bordering on raw. They went back. Mine came back perfect, his the outside burned up and rare inside. They had to cook him a new one while I ate by myself. Awful, just awful. At $33 apiece, should never happen. I think Waverlys going downhill. And the restaurant not even that busy!
The new entrees ($25,00 for several items) is a great deal. Plus the entrée selection was perfect. I was going to have my "steak", but changed my mind and the special beef pot pie. I got the brisket on toast which was amazing and the house salad. That was the biggest beef pot pie I have ever had. Every good. If they still have the special entrees on my next visit, I will be getting the beef brisket, hand down. Wonderful dining experience.
We always have a wonderful meal & love the quiet atmosphere. The service is always top notch. We try to go at least twice a month as our "date night" & take all our guests from out of town for a special meal. Our server Frederick makes it a hit & we get requests to return often from our guests.
I was disappointed. The tenderloin was the size of a dollar coin, 1 inch thick and covered in gravy. Didn’t eat the potatoes in a biscuit thing. The lobster tail was raw/undercooked- although they did compensate for that. Service was ok and the best thing here is their raisin bread with whipped butter. This was New Year’s Eve, no wow factor whatsoever and WAY overpriced for what you get.
Waverly's can be counted on to always satisfy your needs. Menu choices may be altered. Dietary needs will be accommodated if at all possible. The service is always excellent.
I have their swordfish when it's available because it's outstanding. You may have it blackened or grilled. Mine is grilled with butter and lemon. The Prime Rib was cooked to the customer 's instructions perfectly. Recommended.
Having a new waitress was fine. She knew what she was doing and very pleasant. However, I got the ribeye steak which was one of the worse I have had at Waverly's. It had too much salt. I am not sure it was Choice, but it had a lot of gristle throughout the steak and it was tough, not your typical steak texture. Won't order the ribeye again. The baked potato's skin was very odd. It was very dark and tough, but the inside was cooked fine. The other meals were fine, i.e. swordfish, crab soup, and salad. The kitchen staff were very loud (this is the third time I have mentioned the noise coming from the staff). Actually, all of the loud noise in the restaurant was coming from the kitchen. We were coming back for New Year's, but decided to go to another Steakhouse in the neighborhood.
We usually enjoy Waverlys so we chose it for my birthday dinner. This was a mistake. The servixe was apallingly bad. Drinks did not get refilled. They forgot to bring out my wifes side dishes. The family seated by us sat there for at least 15 minutes without a waiter taking their orders and without bussers filling their glasses. The wait staff and busing staff seemed oddly absent on our section of the restaraunt. The poor service and order errors combined to make this special occasion meal memorable, but not in a positive way. Nornally we go to Waverlys for our special occasions but due to this experience, are likely to look for another restaurant from now on. Not how we wanted to spend my birthday. Very disappointing
The guy who served us our dinner was outstanding. Very professional and a very friendly guy.
The steak that was served was salty. I ordered medium rare but it was well done and kinda tough. That is why there is salt and pepper on the table to use as preferred by customer. Food was below average.
Good atmosphere, good menu, but size portions are questionable. I ordered a 16 ounce Ribeye and it was surprisingly thin. I sent it back and received another thin steak. It was properly prepared but for a gourmet Steakhouse, I would have expected a thicker cut, especially for $32.
We had an excellent meal. Darryl was our waiter and he was superb. One of my friends took a picture of her prime rib to send to her husband as she said it was the best she'd ever tasted. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone, for any occasion.
