Waverly's Steak House - Cannery Casino & Hotel Ratings and Reviews
I was disappointed. The tenderloin was the size of a dollar coin, 1 inch thick and covered in gravy. Didn’t eat the potatoes in a biscuit thing. The lobster tail was raw/undercooked- although they did compensate for that. Service was ok and the best thing here is their raisin bread with whipped butter. This was New Year’s Eve, no wow factor whatsoever and WAY overpriced for what you get.
Waverly's can be counted on to always satisfy your needs. Menu choices may be altered. Dietary needs will be accommodated if at all possible. The service is always excellent.
I have their swordfish when it's available because it's outstanding. You may have it blackened or grilled. Mine is grilled with butter and lemon. The Prime Rib was cooked to the customer 's instructions perfectly. Recommended.
Having a new waitress was fine. She knew what she was doing and very pleasant. However, I got the ribeye steak which was one of the worse I have had at Waverly's. It had too much salt. I am not sure it was Choice, but it had a lot of gristle throughout the steak and it was tough, not your typical steak texture. Won't order the ribeye again. The baked potato's skin was very odd. It was very dark and tough, but the inside was cooked fine. The other meals were fine, i.e. swordfish, crab soup, and salad. The kitchen staff were very loud (this is the third time I have mentioned the noise coming from the staff). Actually, all of the loud noise in the restaurant was coming from the kitchen. We were coming back for New Year's, but decided to go to another Steakhouse in the neighborhood.
We usually enjoy Waverlys so we chose it for my birthday dinner. This was a mistake. The servixe was apallingly bad. Drinks did not get refilled. They forgot to bring out my wifes side dishes. The family seated by us sat there for at least 15 minutes without a waiter taking their orders and without bussers filling their glasses. The wait staff and busing staff seemed oddly absent on our section of the restaraunt. The poor service and order errors combined to make this special occasion meal memorable, but not in a positive way. Nornally we go to Waverlys for our special occasions but due to this experience, are likely to look for another restaurant from now on. Not how we wanted to spend my birthday. Very disappointing
The guy who served us our dinner was outstanding. Very professional and a very friendly guy.
The steak that was served was salty. I ordered medium rare but it was well done and kinda tough. That is why there is salt and pepper on the table to use as preferred by customer. Food was below average.
Good atmosphere, good menu, but size portions are questionable. I ordered a 16 ounce Ribeye and it was surprisingly thin. I sent it back and received another thin steak. It was properly prepared but for a gourmet Steakhouse, I would have expected a thicker cut, especially for $32.
We had an excellent meal. Darryl was our waiter and he was superb. One of my friends took a picture of her prime rib to send to her husband as she said it was the best she'd ever tasted. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone, for any occasion.
Our server, Darryl, was excellent as usual. We tried the 3 course meal and choose the shrimp appetizer and I had the brisket and my husband had the fried chicken. The shrimp and entrees were very good. The serving size were good and I even took home some of my meal.
I gamble at The Cannery Frequently and often receive Comps to this (or any other) of their eateries. The Food has deteriorated exponentially and I even consider the Tip(since it's not the fault of a good wait staff) too much for this eatery. At the last visit - you could definitely notice the quality of beef had been brought down a grade. The Potatoes au gratin were cooked early in the day and had turned into a dry greasy blob (low quality cheese) by opening time. The scallop platter (30+ dollars for 5 scallops when there is a glut of scallops) while cooked perfectly, is obscenely expensive for an off-strip property. When they say baked potato - be careful - many times all you'll get is a strip of baked potato. I'm moving my gaming dollars elsewhere - where there are far better comps and dining options. The Restaurant is under new (and Pompous) management and should be replaced by a TGIF chain more aligned to their market.
I used to recommend Waverly's to everyone. However, the last few experiences have not been as nice. They changed the size of their sides. The mashed potatoes are literally 3-4 bites. This past meal was the worst in ever had at a location that I used to enjoy so much. The sides were extemely small and the bread was dry. We mentioned the dry bread and nothing was done. The side house salad was a tiny pile with mostly shredded iceberg lettuce. The appetizer potato skin was 1/2 potato. The grilled potato was one small slice out of a baked potato, small and nothing special. Disappointed.
Seemed the server assigned to our table (African-American gentleman) paid little mind to our table, but this in my opinion was mostly due to a large party in the accompanying room. I would say our dinner would have concluded in an hour and a half but we were there for nearly 2.5 hours mostly waiting on our server to even acknowledge us for our order, bill, to-go boxes and to run our card (which he dropped at the bartender to run). So my assumption is either he was not prepared for the workload of another 2 top on top of his table, or he was just not interested in servicing our table since we are younger and would not leave a sufficiently large tip for him. I like to give the benefit of the doubt and think that he was trying his best since I’ve been there before, but a server in this caliber of dining should have been more attentive. Very disappointed being that we come all the time with other family members and have had no problems in the past.
I have eaten at Waverly several times. This was not such a great experience. I had to send some of the food back (which I have nerve had to do better). And, the food lacked seasoning and taste. However, as usual the host and waiter were great. Very attentive and apologetic. Just not the experience that I am used to food wise.
As always our experience was wonderful. The food was exceptional & our service could not have been better. We like the regular menu better than the new $25--3 course menu but I'm sure it appeals to others, The ribeye is very tender & the seafood is tasty. Paired with wine the dining is superb!
Service was very good although some of the waiters/waitresses had issues in their attire.
Oysters were old and tasteless. One was sour and did not swallow.
Waiter did not ask why one was left.
Strawberry salad was delicious.
Veal crab roll was pretty but lacked any flavor.
The prime rib was cooked perfectly but just an ok flavor.
The chocolate lava cake & ice cream as well as the coffee were wonderful.
All in all we would not return as it just was not a great experience.
