Watertable Ratings and Reviews
I chose this restaurant based on the menu that is on the restaurants website. The menu was not the same and was very different. I settled on ordering a burger rather than a steak I had envisioned ordering. I ordered the burger medium and it came to me very much raw in the middle. The manager came by and took the burger off the bill and offered me a free prime rib sandwhich as a consolaton. I left it on the tabel when I left. My girlfriend however very much enjoyed her crabcake sandwich...so at least theres that. To top everything off there was a anime convention going on. So envision this nice restaurant you take your significant other to and being surrounded by grown ups dressed as animation characters..not enjoyable. I do not plan on returning there again.
The venue was quiet. There was only one other party seated, so when we arrived early, we were still seated quickly. Tara, our waitress, was very pleasant, the food was great, and the view was really spectacular. It was a great choice and we’d gladly do it again.
The food was horrible and overpriced. My Salad was drenched in dressing , so practically a soup. I also ordered a crab cake after being told by my waiter, that it was the best in town. That's huge in a city known for crabs & cakes etc. The crab cake that I received was loaded with bread, similar to Panko crumbs. It was not a lump crab cake as described on the menu. I was later upcharged for a drink that I ordered which was also prepared incorrectly. Great view. Horrible place.
Kelly our waitress & Patrick our bartender were over the top. We drove 11 hours over thanksgiving & we were exhausted. They treated us like royalty. Complimentary glass of wine & Maryland crab cakes. Everything was perfect. The view over the harbor was amazing
Stunningly poor service. Everyone around us who came in after us was served while we waited for anyone to come with the bread, never mind anything else. And then when they brought the food they completely forgot one main dish. When that one finally came, it was not worth waiting for. Wasted almost 2 hours, missed an event we planned to attend. At least they didn’t charge us. But don’t waste your time.
It took a half hour to get our drinks, even though there was only a total of 10 tables, none more than 4 guests, but most only deuces. It was my wife's birthday and we had plans after dinner. We were gathering our things to leave when they finally brought our drinks. With drink finally in hand we decided to order dinner. She really didn't like hers, but noone even asked if we enjoyed our meal. Probably won't be dining there again.
I booked this reservation for my wife and I and it didn't go as planned. Due to a conference at the time they were only serving a limited buffet consisting of a salad with spaghetti and garlic bread and a few things on the side. According to the web site they have an actual menue with varying types of food but this was not offered. The one hostess didn't understand what we're trying to ask but our server was very helpful in offering us some alternative resturaunts in the area. We left without ordering anything and went to one of the nearby recommended resturaunts which was excelent. I'm sure this isnt a bad place to eat if your are staying at the hotel and in town for business but it just didn't work out for us that night.
My wife and I were in the Baltimore Inner Harbor to celebrate her birthday, we stayed in the Renaissance hotel where the restaurant is conveniently located,
My wife had the capellini pasta with shrimp in a pesto sauce, I had the Fillet Mignon with roasted finger link potatoes and carrots, the food was good and we enjoyed very much, however the waitress was a bit off course as to seemly not being knowledge to what condiments to bring to us when we asked for cheese for my wife's pasta.
After we ate our dinner, the waitress delivered our bill without even asking if we wanted dessert.
I selected this restaurant because it isn't a chain and it was on the Inner Harbor. I ignored warnings from other reviews, focusing instead on the harbor views... and the Crab Poutine on the menu. That one item sealed the deal.
*We arrive to find that this restaurant is more of a hotel lounge than a private restaurant.
*We waited five minutes for the greeter to arrive. I informed the greeter that we had a reservation, to which she wrote my name down and proceeded to poll the parties behind us.
*We were seated and stunned to find the menu different from that posted on OpenTable; no Crab Poutine! The server approached and asked for our order; no drink ask nor wine/beer menu provided and no questions asked. I asked about the Poutine and ten minutes later she returned saying it still could be made.
*In this ten minutes, a man across the aisle was served a burger which was not cooked to his liking. He did not ask for a new burger... just his check.
*I placed the Poutine order as an appetizer for the table. We placed our entree orders as well: pasta with added grilled chicken, brick chicken, and crab cake sandwich with side salad.
*Again - no ask for any additional drinks was made.
*Poutine is served and delivers as intended.
*Two minutes later the entrees arrive. The pasta had no chicken. The sandwich was served with more fries. The brick chicken was served on half an avocado with a produce sticker still attached to its rind.
*Side salad and grilled chicken are brought out. Chicken is cold and rubbery from the 20 second treatment it received in a microwave.
*The meal concludes rather uneventfully. The food was quite tasty... at least the edible food properly prepared.
*No ask for dessert was made.
*The server confides that there are only two servers working. I guesstimate approximately 20 tables were in the lounge. I do know that the lounge greeter refilled my water more times than my server did.
I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant.
I don't really know why, but the popularity of this place isn't what it used to be. Honestly, it works out better for me because it's never really crowded these days anymore.
Food is great, ambiance is great, view is best in the entire Inner Harbor hands down, and it's always clean and pleasant, and very very quiet.
I personally highly recommend it.
Our reservation was for 6:00 pm and although we were seated on time, there were no servers there as the restaurant was just opening and no one was at work yet. Slow service. No wine list. Food was good though. View was awesome. Brought out a great Crab Fondue appetizer without the toast to eat it with. Overall, disappointing.
This is my second time dining here and the food is inconsistent. The first time I ordered the crab chowder and it was perfect in seasoning and consistency. However, the 2nd time I ordered the chowder it was too thick and too salty. In addition, I had asked the waiter for no pepper in the soup but when I tasted it, it was way too peppery. I don't think I will come back.
I am a frequent visitor to this restaurant. I was there when it was called "Windows." I usually visit on Sundays for their Sunday Brunch. My wife doesn't eat pork or beef and she enjoys their chicken sausage and turkey bacon. The omelettes include lump crab meat as an option, along with the usually ingredients. There brunch is very consistent and has been for quite some time. The wait staff is always pleasant, along with the host and hostesses.
Bad lay-out. Large reception room is right next Restaraunt. While we were in the Restaraunt, there was a large party with a DJ and a large number of people right next door. This resulted in loud music and to much staff attention to that event. Resulted in delayed food arrival, poor service and us not being able to hear each other at the table. A real shame because the food was outstanding when it finally did show up.
Although the food was enjoyable, it was not worth the extremely slow service, even on a quiet evening. And, given the lovely view and the availability of empty tables near the windows, it was disappointing to be placed at a reserved table where half our party faced away from the windows.
Came here for my birthday, party of 7 on 03/19. The hotel is gorgeous and modern. The host greeted us warmly and got our table ready. I have to say the view at sunset was beautiful and our waitress was wonderful. The food was unique and very well prepared. Everyone commented on how good it was. Our waitress refilled our drinks without having to ask and took care of us without being overbearing. It was a lovely dinner. This place is a wonderful place to take a group and is also very reasonably priced. Glad I found this gem, will consider for other future occasions.
