Waterside Restaurant and Catering Ratings and Reviews
Came here for Thanksgiving dinner absolutely phenomenal the service was outstanding the hostess and the owner both came to the table to make sure everything was to perfection never have I had such a delightful dinner and dessert was heavenly… This should be your next step for any dining experience or a club scene on Friday and Saturdays the best ever!!
I have been to waterside several times for brunch and I never have had a bad experience. This time, my server, Bruno continued the exceptional quality of service that I am accustomed to from waterside. I got to speak to also my previous server, Jose who is equally amazing.
If you go to waterside, I recommend going for brunch on sundays but with this caveat, MAKE RESERVATIONS. It will be packed but the space is more than accommodating for the large crowds that are there. The ambience is perfect on beautiful weather day. I recommend sitting slightly outside, just under the shade as my biggest issue are the tables can be quite blinding on a sunny day.
Regardless, the food is wonderful, the shrimp served on ice are nice and meaty. Lots of variety. You really cannot go wrong.
Waterside is a perfect blend of ambience, server quality, food, and very friendly people.
My husband and I were married here when it was "Franks waterside" and we've been for drinks but not for dinner . Always heard mixed reviews . Beautiful venue and an energetic vibe . View is gorgeous ! We were surprised it wasn't busier on a Saturday evening but it sure was picking up as we were finishing our meal. We brought our son and nephew as they enjoy fine dining in trendy places . The music was awesome. Our server was an absolute doll! Highlights were the roasted artichoke, truffle fries and caramel popcorn dessert. My son was unhappy with his swordfish by the steaks were good . Everything was seasoned well. I'd like to return for a date night and be able to enjoy the bar . The wine list was excellent and reasonable . Loved the light up menus !
I did not have a good experience. My husband and I were out celebrating our anniversary and wanted a nice place by the waterfront. We asked for a table near the water and was told that those tables were reserved for parties of 4 people. I later noticed TWO tables by the water with only 2 people on them. At least one of those tables has people who arrived after we did (so much for the 4 people rule!). We were rushed to order our dinner entree with the appetizer and when we told the waiter we would order later were told the place would get very busy. I did not appreciate this but thought he might have a point. The place did not get incredibly busy in the next hour. I was not satisfied with my entree order because it was a rushed order. Finally, I noticed the waiter highly recommending the most expensive items on the menu regularly. It just felt like a sales pitch more than a well though-out recommendation based on a specified preference. Overall, not as classy a place as I expected. We will not be back. The food was ok but nothing extraordinary.
I was at the waterside 2 weeks in a row. Both times I had a reservation for brunch and a party of 8. The first time they set up a table in front of kitchen door and we waited 15-20 to be seated. And second time after asking for indoors they called the day before to say they had to put us outside with heaters, the heaters did not work! What an awful expierence!
Waiter was terrible, brought out wrong orders even after being told that there were allergies at the table and then stated that there was nothing he could do because the kitchen was closed. He was rude and repeatedly stated that it was too loud in the restaurant and could not hear our orders. The manager came over and instead of solving the issue, he made excuses for the waiter and said that all the chefs went home but that he could try to personally cook a meal but that he is not a chef. Horrible staff, furthermore the female bartender was unsure of how to make drinks and I had to tell her to use a 3/4 count of alcohol when pouring one ounce. The only
Positive was the view.
Probably our favorite place to go to eat , the views are unparalleled. Originally hostess told me I could not sit in the inside table I wanted table number 20. But Manager quickly rectified the problem and set us where we always sit . You get what you pay for ! It's not cheap but worth every dollar !!!!
I actually live in Colorado and got a tip that this was a must when I visited Jersey for vacation. It lived up to the hype. I enjoyed my anniversary dinner with friends and family and was so glad I made it a point to plan this spot into my celebration. The bartender Richard was excellent!
Staff were rude and not helpful. Manager is rude and condescending. They need to decide if they are a restaurant, bar, family place, catering hall. Seats outside for dining are ridiculous and too small for almost anyone. They did not honor this reservation and said they never got it. I called them the day before to confirm and then made another reservation. When we got there they said again they didn't have it again and I had a hard time. The waiters kept grabbing our plates so fast we couldn't enjoy anything. I am so disappointed because it was my daughters birthday.
Booked a reservation to be near a window. Had I known how good the views were, I wouldn't have bothered to make that request. All of the views are amazing (and we would have been too hot sitting next to the window.) Spectacular views from every table.
I had lunch with a friend in from Florida, and this was the perfect spot for a scenic lunch. The food was terrific and had a good selection of gluten-free. My companion had a chicken Caesar salad that was terrific-the breast was pounded flat and formed into the bowl that held the salad. I had the risotto special, which was terrific and abundant.
Will think of this place first when entertaining guests from out of town again.
Everything was lovely except for the service we received. There was a overall wierd vibe throughout the staff. I did not feel welcomed and they weren't very friendly. They served our food and did not make mistakes but they were quite distant and passive aggressively rude. My friends and I just felt like they were staring at us and acting rude.
The restaurants has been renovated since the last time I was there. The design and decor are very visually appealing and reflect the more upscale vibe they intended. The food wasn't as great as I thought it was going to be. Had the clams and bang bang shrimp for appetizers which were satisfactory. Had a small entree of octopus & calamari salad that was just okay. My sister did not enjoy her grilled chicken (paper thin and mediocre at best). Our waiter never smiled and ended up swiping credit card three times which resulted in being charged a couple of times. The setting is nice with the view of the city and dessert proved to be the best (Nutella crepe was amazing). It was nice but definitely not worth the prices.
I would recommend this restaurant for lunch, and possibly dinner during the week provided the DJ isn't there. The view is outstanding, service good, food good enough with the exception of my husband's way overcooked steak . (He should have returned it, but didn't want to wait since the food took quite a while in the first place.) However, the last two times we've been to this restaurant the noise level was so high we couldn't understand a word we or our other guests were saying. The constant bass of the club music that the DJ played (for the benefit of the bar customers) was so loud and irritating that we just cannot return. All of us had sore throats the next day from trying to talk. Not sure why so many restaurants think this is appealing to dining customers (it isn't). I understand the bar element, but when the bar is right next to the dining area, some consideration should be paid to diners. At least lower the annoying music a couple of decibels.
I went on Sunday with a reservation for 5 for Brunch at 12:30. I have been here many times before and as much as I wanted you to redeem yourselves from the last visit, unfortunately it got progressively worse. This past weekend, we were seated outside where u wanted to be however the Bridal party that was being hosted was annoyingly moving in and out with tables being brought in and around us. The food was cold, all of it. Cold eggs are disgusting. I got up three times to see if the dessert platters had been replenished to no avail. We were all highly disappointed. The cook that makes the omelettes was no where to be found for the two hours we were there. To say that $242. Was excessive for French toast is an understatement. The waiter came to our table once. ONCE in two hours. Thanks but no thanks. Won't be going there again.
