I appreciated that the person who created the food came out to the table to answer my question regarding the ingredients used. I was able to avoid any type of food or dietary restrictions and they offered an alternative. Appreciate the time and flexibility.
Ate there twice while we stayed at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was a delight (although over priced). The negative review is for the dinner we attempted to experience. We walked in and the first table (out doors) had ants crawling over it, so we moved ourselves to the table next to it. The clearly irritated waitress commented on us moving ourselves to which I politely responded : there’s ants on the table over there, so we thought it would be best to move. She responded “well it’s Florida... Florida is ant country what did you expect?” - thank goodness we got another waiter. He was kind and attentive but he didn’t know he menu and was not confident. BecAuse of this, we ordered an app only, and booked a dinner at another restaurant.
Sat outside on a beautiful Spring evening. The swordfish special was awesome as was the service. Another great place where all the meals come out at the same time and all were prepared as ordered. Definitely on our list when back in the area.
The place was empty yet the service was terrible, tables were filthy and food was horrendous. The only saving attribute of this place is the location on the water.
Spur of the moment decision but we all enjoyed our lunch and the Jazz trio was great!
Excellent Easter brunch! Beautiful waterside dining.
From the difficulty in confirming our reservation on the phone, to the level of service, number of choices, and quality of the food, it’s all inconsistent with the price charged.
The waitress did a great job. It’s just gouging of guests for Easter brunch and after succumbing to it previously, this will be our last time.
The Easter brunch of 2018 was very nice, and not having dined there before, we were very impressed.
Wait staff was friendly, enjoyable and informative; yet not invasive.
Excellent restaurant, but do NOT park valet at the hotel. Awful valet service. Park elsewhere.
Our waitress (Elaine(?) was on the ball. The omelette was great, & the gf toast was nice to have available
Great place to go before going to hockey game. Near the arena.
Nice atmosphere, good food and good service
Noisy and slow. Hostess refused request to reseat us. Very small menu.
We were able to get a table outside. The view is wonderful and the temperature at 7:30 on March 3 was comfortable. The food was just OK although the menu seemed limited. Wine list was small. The service was very good. But the outdoors comfort and waterfront location was enough to make it a good time.
This is at hotel, so mandatory valet parking. Since we were there for dinner only, price was cut in half, but still added to the cost of dinner. We were seated outside and it was chilly and no light reached our table. The view was nice, however.
This was a lovely dining room but empty. The menu was nondescript, nothing special. It is more of a sandwich joint than fine dining. We were very disappointed.
The ambiance and location were great and the restaurant was very nice!
Food was only OK, not as online menu!
Server list my credit card?????
Sat 2 of us @ table for 6 even though 2 tables for 2 we’re unoccupied!
Would NOT recommend anyone visit this restaurant!
There were very few gluten free options, especially for children.
We had breakfast outside on the patio. It was beautiful! We had a reservation and upon walking in we were greeted by name and shown to our table which already had coffee and water set up for us which was a nice touch. Our waitress Elaine was excellent, she was very friendly and always was checking in on us and making sure we had what we needed. Will definitely be back!
When a person pays top dollar( fifty dollars a plate) for dinner, you expect the food to be hot and cooked properly. Not the case! My prime rib was cold and the shrimp was under cooked. I was disappointed in our, Valentine's Day dinner. When we left the restaurant we noticed there was a buffett in the lobby and the price was $26 dollars a plate, half the price with the same food. I could tell that at least that food was hot. We could of had a better dinner in the lobby.
Nice meal out and convenient to the convention center and Amalie arena.
My wife and I were in Tampa in February to see Billy Joel and wanted a light dinner before the concert. We couldn't have picked a better place! The Waterside Grill was absolutely pleasant! The ambiance was perfect – a quiet, clean café on the water.
Waterside Grill offers a flexible menu with a variety of entrees’. We had a reservation and the staff seated us immediately. My black grouper entre and my wife’s medium rare angus burger were served promptly. Nicolas Rafferty, the manager, inquired about our entrees; he was genuinely interested in making our dinner most pleasant. Nick was helpful, cheerful and clearly the man behind the restaurant’s excellent customer experience. Yes, the restaurant was busy - Friday night with a concert nearby at the arena - but Nick, and his staff, were very attentive to all the dinner guests.
Our Waterside Grille dinner was one of the best dinners in Tampa! We definitely recommend dining there!
We couldn't have been happier with our choice. Drove up from Sarasota to attend a concert at the very near-by Amalie arena. Sat outside, food was way better than we expected from a hotel restaurant. The wait staff was excellent. There was also the surprise birthday offering from the restaurant...3 delicious desserts and a bottle of Prosecco for the five of us, all complimentary! Will go again before another event at the Amalie.
Made a reservation. Was told that staff screwed up and our table was given to a self-seating table without an apology. Offered a table by the window and were taken to a table not near the window. Menu was not the same as advertised on website.
Was sad that our first two choices for a bottle of wine was not available. Food was good but not exceptional.
Waitress was nice, seemed a little overwhelmed. Menu online didn't match menu in restaurant. I ordered the ribeye with a side extra of shrimp. After waiting about an hour the waitress came to us saying our food was taking longer because of the change of menu and offered us free desert or drinks. Restaurent wasnt busy at all. When the food finally came out the steak was burned on the outside and red on inside. 3 potatoes under the steak and the shrimp was rubbery like it was overcooked. Probably under heat lamps for so long. Asked for a manager and couldn't wait any longer because we had to be somewhere else. Overall bad experience.
Great food for a hotel restaurant. My grilled grouper was outstanding and my wife’s salad with shrimp was delicious. The breakfast buffets here have also been very good.
I took my wife here for a birthday brunch prior to the NHL All Star Game. The brunch buffet was fresh and well-stocked with interesting options. The scrambled eggs were to-die-for. Very pleasant staff and a complimentary piece of cake for the birthday girl!
Nice spot for outdoor dining, just next to the river walk. During my visit the weather was a bit chilly and only one of three propane gas heaters worked. Menu was limited and the food quality was average. Service was a little slow and sperratic. There are better choices in the general vicinity of the Tampa Convention Center.
We asked to be seated out in the patio so we can look out the waterfront. However, the hostess failed to notify the wait staff that she sat us outside because only when I went inside to let them know that we needed to be served did they realise they had patrons outside waiting to be served! Food was decent and corresponding prices were a bit stiff but over-all the outside seating was quite lovely.
Was not told at time of reservation or when restaurant called me to confirm a few days prior that only a special menu would be served and cost of $70 per person.
Reserved asking for waterfront seating, when I was called to reconfirm they asked me if I still wanted waterfront dining which I advised yes. But... when we arrived were told no room on patio. Group walked in after us was seated, expressed interest of being outside and they were moved.
After finishing our meal, which was served buffet style with many of the items cold, we walked outside and only 1/2 of the tables were occupied. Very disappointed, I am a long time Marriott member and cannot recommend this restaurant.
Lovely dinner and perfect location before a comedy concert at the Amelie Arena...
This dining experience was for the Christmas dinner . The fish was dry and selection was not the greatest. The service was terrible and the staff did not seem to care. Would not come back or recommend.
Fun,relaxing time with family.
I am very happy with my choice to spend Christmas Eve at the Waterside Grill. I took out my father and daughter and we all had quite a delicious meal with impeccable service along with a gorgeous waterfront view. We also enjoyed the fact that the noise level was low so we could hear each other speak without shouting. The meal was pricey but worth it.
Our server Ennis was awesome! The food was amazing, the view incredible. We were a party of 7 and we were all very satisfied with the experience ,we will definitely go back!
We had incredibly slow service, despite the fact that the restaurant was only 1/3 full. Took 20 to get a glass of wine.
Disappointing dining experience.
VERY poor service.
Excellent outdoor dining on the patio overlooking the channel. Seafood very good.
