Waterside Grill – Tampa Marriott Waterside
Quick dinner before hockey game. Food was good, reasonably priced, pleasant meal.
My experience was amazing and beyond our expectations
This place looks like a classic diner. Very open and kind of loud. Temperature is a bit on the cold side. If you want valet parking...it's 20 bucks and if there is an even at the convention center or arena that night, valet is the best bet unfortunately. The menu does not have a great selection. They had a different menu for Valentine's day that didn't have the same items as normal.
We truly enjoyed our visit to Waterside. We arrived almost an hour early for our reservations and they sat us right away. We also requested a booth and they were able to accommodate that as well. We both ordered the cuban sandwich and both loved it! All of the staff were as friendly and helpful as any place I've ever been. We will definitely go there again!
This actually wasn't the place I was planning to go to for breakfast but it worked out fine. The service and food were great. I was with people I only see about once a year so we were busy talking the entire time. We stayed at our table when the place was packed and the server never ONCE implied that we needed to wrap it up. I ended up leaving without giving a tip or signing my credit card slip OR taking my CC home. The server turned it in immediately and closed out my bill. I so appreciated her I drove back 45 mins to the place to give her an appropriate gratuity and get my credit card.
Menu not extensive but they had a buffet.
Not enough people to serve you, extremely noisy, and food was burnt.
We told our waiter upon arrival that we had a 7 pm game time to meet. We were seated at 5:15. 45 minutes later we still had no food. The waiter had gotten us drinks but they were long gone before the food came and he never came to ask if we wished refills. The food was less than mediocre. The service was also less than mediocre. Don't plan to return. There are just way too many good restaurants in Tampa.
Sat outside with friends from out of town. Great views, fantastic food and our server was especially attentive which was a nice touch when showing off your town!
Laura provided excellent service for my son and I. The restaurant was excellent, food, service and location were perfect, we’ll be back.
Convenient being in the hotel but food was very average. Fries had been sitting in the back a while as they were cold both days we ate there. Burger was good though. Servers were very nice, just very busy. Might have been short staffed when we were there.
Wonderful New Year's Eve.buffet.Very good selections of all types of food to choose from.Good,friendly,service.Right on the water.Free fireworks at midnight.
Our reservations were for New Years Eve so they had a special menu & buffet. I was prepared to be disappointed but the buffet was great. Wonderful lobster bisque and fresh shrimp & crab claws. The entrees were wonderful (short ribs, grouper & chicken were the best). Great dinner for NYE - good food and relaxed atmosphere.
NYE dinner. Buffet style with lots of options. It would
Have been helpful to know the venue was buffet style prior to booking. However, food, service and ambiance did not disappoint!
The service was awful. Don’t go unless you have several hours to kill and only want one drink. You won’t see wait staff more than twice in an hour. We ended up asking for our bill as the food came because we were afraid we’d have another hour wait to pay.
Crispy French toast is very good. Corn beef hash isn’t what I expected but wasn’t too bad..
The food was absolutely phenomenal! No complaints at all!
Second visiting this restaurant , service horrible both times.
Slow service and mediocre food for the high price
It was just ok. The lobster was a little tough. The drinks were overpriced.
We arrived at 11:30 a.m. for our Christmas luncheon/dinner. It was a plated menu with a choice of 3 items as an entrée for $40 each. Apparently, we never should have booked our Christmas dinner at that time. Marriott was still serving a Christmas breakfast buffet. People were dressed very casually in shorts and baseball hats. Diners were going in and out the back doors to view the water. It was very distracting to our dining experience. We felt like we were in a noisy breakfast diner. The waiters/waitresses were making lots of noise clearing dishes off of tables. They were speaking loudly to each other in Spanish. There were no tablecloths on the tables. I expected a tablecloth for my Christmas dinner. The salad was nothing special. Our dinners were average. The dessert plate, on the other hand, was very well done. The presentation was lovely. However, our waiter delivered all of our desserts while my husband was still eating his dinner. It was inappropriate. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience on Christmas. I had expected something nicer. We will not be returning to this restaurant. On top of this, the restaurant reported me as a No Show to Open Tables even though I properly checked in when we arrived.
Not what was advertised. Ads said fancy buffet with seafood and prime rib when it was only a typical hotel free breakfast. Biscuits were rock hard
Great location for concert. Had buffet it was good but pricey. Made reservations, arrived late but reservation was accepted.
James was great
Very good restaurant- menu selection was just right and prices were fairly priced based on the location
Thank you Elaine for the hospitality.
In Tampa for a conference, but every restaurant near the convention center seemed to have at least an hour wait. Was able to get a reservation here on Open Table so grabbed it. Lucky us! One of us has the buffet, the other short ribs. Food and service were excellent!
Food presentation and portions, and ambiance sitting outside was good. Nice that had a buffet. However Snapper was bland to the point of nearly being flavorless and calamari was heavily breaded with unremarkable sauce. We want to like this place so will give it another try but it feels like something is missing in the kitchen.
The wait for our food was 40 minutes from the time ordered. The appetizers took 30 minutes. It was a Saturday nite and we were warned the kitchen was very busy but we had reservations and 40 minutes is a bit too long. The next morning we went for breakfast and they were out of my favorite.... lox. So I’m pretty generous in giving 3 stars. Too bad because outside view is beautiful.
Service was horrible. It was like they were terribly understaffed and confused. We waited 15 minutes for them to approach the table to discuss ordering and then the food came out slowly. The restaurant was not overly busy, just seemed like no one there was in charge or steering the ship. We won't be back.
Great location. But service for this part of the hotel seems to have been an afterthought. Waited inordinately long for service as the waitress had two large tables (not her fault...she was otherwise). But again...you can't beat the view
Visiting the area - close to hotel - elected to try. Server was outstanding. Food was good. Value is so-so. A good place if in a pinch.
My family picks different restaurants for holiday dining. Unfortunately, dinner was not here this year so my daughter and I snuck over for brunch. The food is always wonderful. The outside dining was amazing. The service this time was so/so. The server was nice, I just don’t believe he was trained well. It wasn’t super crowded but our food was taking a long time so I requested bread or dinner rolls for my starving kid and he said it wasn’t possible. Minutes later the table next to us made the same request and they were accommodated with a whole warm loaf. I was a little mad because they were adults. I asked for a hungry kid. ;(
The soft taco with hardly any shrimp is not good value or enough for lunchenu. It should be snacks. I had to wait for 40 mins, which is not acceptable for lunch. The waiter should have told me that before I ordered there was a lunch buffet. I would have eaten that instead which was quicker and had mire choices of food items.
Another meal at the restaurant. Ordered the waterside salad again as it was really good. Soup was great as well.
Sat outside. Beautiful evening and wonderful views. Les wanted a good dessert so I selected a restaurant with several great sounding desserts. We ordered light fare. I chose the chicken salad sandwich with fresh fruit. Les chose a hamburger with French fries which I helped him eat. Everything was delicious and most generous. In fact, neither one of us could eat dessert. A most enjoyable evening!
Having stayed at multiple Marriott hotels and have dined in the hotel restaurants especially for Sunday brunch, this experience was very disappointing. The buffet breakfast selections were very limited. The patio on the waterfront was not usable because of the limited shade cover and was just not appealing. I will not return.
Food and service was great, parking is a bit difficult since it's inside of the hotel - but otherwise pretty great!
We needed a bite to eat before seeing the game of thrones experience at Amalie arena. Located about a block south made an easy walk from the parking garage. Kaitlyn was our server and took great care of us. It had recently rained and was overcast, with a slight breeze unusual for this time of year. But it made it very comfortable. The rissotto balls were delicious, as were the Cuban and the burger that we had. The bar poured strong drinks as well. Overall great experience!
