WaterScapes Restaurant at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes Ratings and Reviews
This experience was the opposite of prior occasions, including our review given 11/16. Wile the setting and service were as expected, the food gave the impression that Waterscapes was "cutting back". The ala carte caesar salad which we split was a meager serving of anemic -looking lettuce with 3 half grape tomatoes each. The filet was less than the 5 oz which was ordered medium rare and arrived closer to medium. The potatoes under the meat were very liquid ...."runny". The salmon which was described as seared instead was greasy and was lacking kale and with an overabundance of lentils. The menu has been the same for the greater part of this year and after going at least 5 or 6 times this year, it will be some time before we return.
A fantastic culinary experience! Every course (Christmas Dinner) was skillfully prepared and plated. The filet mignon was superior to that which I have eaten at some nationally recognized chains. Quiet and unassuming atmosphere, great service, and nice location. I highly recommend it.
I was very disappointed. When we arrived for Christmas eve it was their regular lunch menu so basically sandwiches it was very disapppointing even the waitress said they should have called clients and told them this. I would have expected better for the occasion we could have gone to Panera for what was served
We went for dinner to celebrate my Daughters college graduation. The Food was excellent, we had the Duck nachos as an appetizer. My wife had the scallops which were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, My son had the chicken which he was very pleased.
My daughter and I had the 10oz Filet which we had medium rare and was cooked perfectly.
Only once before did I have a filet so tender that I was able to cut it with my fork.
We live in the area, but had not heard of WaterScapes. We went there when we obtained a coupon. I checked the menu on the Internet and thought it a bit pricey, but felt the coupon would help. What a pleasant visit! Food and service were exceptional. Considering the quantity and quality, the price was right. We've added WaterScapes to our list of restaurants for repeated return visits. No coupon needed!
We (aka....my girlfriend....lol) chose this restaurant because of its rave reviews, so it's only right that I contribute a review myself. The reviews we saw didn't give this restaurant enough credit! The food was exquisite! The service and atmosphere were phenomenal! Although it was a little pricey, I didn't mind paying the bill after this phenomenal date night! Everything from the bread and goat cheese mixture, to the duck confit nachos, to the drinks (tiramisu martini and Weekend at the Beach), to the entrees (go with the chef's special...... you'll thank me later!), to the dessert (tiramisu) was absolutely amazing! This is the kind of restaurant that I'm sure has seen many proposals! My girlfriend and I decided to each order something we normally wouldn't, and then share. She had scallops, and I had stuffed flounder. While we decided we don't really like the texture of scallops, we loved the taste of everything! We left fully satisfied with our choice of restaurants, and I'm sure you will too.
Food and service was top notch. The scallop dish was incredible with many layers of flavor. My wife had the shrimp n grits which was not your typical shrimp n grits. Wonderful flavors and to end the evening, the chocolate, dark n white mousse cake with raspberry sauce was light but oh so tasty! Staff, including our server Chris were friendly always checking on us and timely. Can't wait for a return visit.
Reading the reviews which recommended scallops or steak. We decided to order the scallops. The scallops and accompanyments were very good. Unfortunately ordering a manhattan on the rocks, the drink delivered was red in color and did not taste like any manhattan I had ever had. The waitress did replace the drink with a mediocare manhattan. Was not impressed with the service and the outside table could have used a cleaning. Get the cushions for the seats. They are very low.
We took advantage of a local special coupon and we were rewarded with an excellent dining experience. My shrimp and grits was the best I've ever had. Steaks were cooked perfectly, scallops were fantastic and the pasta with clams was delicious. It is a place for special celebrations with comfortable seating and had outdoor tables also.
We are locals and this is the first time we have eaten at this restaurant. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Steaks same quality level as Ruth Chris at fair price. The filet, seared scallops, ribeye and pork chop were all excellent. Our server Stefani was very gracious and efficient - took very good care of us. Ray from Myrtle Beach.
My wife and I both had the special, which was mahi over corn and shrimp risotto with broccolini. In addition I had a cup of the sweet corn and potato chowder for a starter and the key lime cheesecake for desert. The presentation was great and everything tasted exceptional. I would highly recommend Waterscapes for dinner on a special occasion.
Another of our very favorite restaurants on the Grand Strand, Waterscapes has excellent food and service. Our waitress, Stephanie, has been outstanding the last times we've been there. Good for us (but not for them) this restaurant is rarely crowded so it is a very relaxed place to be with family or friends. And the chef is top-notch, who uses top-notch fresh ingredients. Highly recommended!
Well first the good. My wife and I thought that the food was excellent. She had the gnocchi and I had the special which was a mahi. The bread was good along with the goat cheese spread. The food presentation was excellent. We also had martinis to drink which were also good. The atmosphere was different than what we thought given the name. It's okay but not really setup for small tables and intimate dining. We were sat at a booth table for 5-6 people and there were only 10 patrons in the restaurant. No water views and the restaurant is right down the hall from the pool so you get that big chlorine blast before you walk into the restaurant. Service was iffy. I thought our waitress was generally nice but not characteristic of a higher end establishment. She spoke to us on a few occasions as a drive by and I didn't really know if she was really talking to us. Overall it really wasn't worth the price for two (over $100) but I left a good tip. I had a pretty upset stomach the next day and so did my wife but can't directly attribute it to the meal but nevertheless it's a one time visit for us.
Our server, Stefani, is really wonderful! Very attentive but not overly so....good recommendations on food.....and drinks....very quick...food always comes out hot and cooked properly....she is fun and has a fantastic personality! The chef is super...cooks everything to perfection...always dependable...he has quite a resume from his past.....
Reservations are recommended....
