Water's Edge - Charleston Ratings and Reviews
We took our whole family to Water's Edge for Sunday brunch. Little ones were included. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I ate too much, others were more restrained. we are regular diners at Water's Edge but this particular sunday was outstanding, much because of our server and the excellent omelette chef . Its just a great spot.
Brunch Review - First, we loved the Bloody Mary Bar (self-serve). Second, the brunch buffet was delicious with lots of options and an omelette station. I ordered the Filet Eggs Benedict (Hollandaise sauce on the side ), it was delicious and they even included some fruit on top of the other sides. The atmosphere was great, a late morning crowd but not Super crowded. We had a table on the deck with a view of the water, highly recommended you request the seating on the deck. We will most definitely be visiting again!
We had a wonderful evening. Our waiter was charming and the service was terrific. 4 of the 6 of us had the whole crispy flounder and it was terrific, but the sauce itself wasn't that great. An apricot sauce would probably be more tasty or something with a little spice.
Waters Edge has been a go-to restaurant for us when we have friends visiting from out of town, both for the awesome views and the food. This visit was a disappointment. The food was only fair, portions were small and overall just not up to our expectations. It was a Saturday night, and the restaurant was only half full, so apparently we aren't the only people who have fallen out of love with Waters Edge. Very sad.
We did the Harborview on Sunday for Brunch and back again on Monday for steak. Halls was recommended, but I didn't need a $50 steak. The filet and steak my husband had was wonderfully done, with mashed potatoes. The Spinach salad was big enough to split too. Also the wine prices are affordably priced. We are vacationing for 2 weeks and like to have a very good meal without a huge cost. This is your place. I would go back again for a fish dinner if we had time. Love the place. great views too.
I can’t say enough good things about our experience. We had individual food allergy needs and a person with a physical disability. Our service was outstanding. Special diets were accommodated with affability. The food was fantastic, and the service was impeccable! The staff seemed to work seamlessly as a team. We’ll be back:-)
We made reservations for Thanksgiving and were very happy with the food and service. The buffet had all of our Thanksgiving favorites and those who did not want turkey or ham were happy ordering from the menu. Even on a nasty day outside, it's nice to view the creek.
The absolute worst restaurant experience in Charleston. We recall many excellent meals here from years ago when we lived here. This was supposed to be a special evening for my wife’s birthday. It was horrible. Our reservation was at 8:45. The lights were on full bright so we could barely see out the window to Shem Creek. The food was mediocre - a huge step down from the last time we ate there a few years ago. The staff was awful. The buss boys were loud and obnoxious the entire evening.
By far the single worst dining experience in our lives. Do not waste your money at this place.
Water's Edge is our go to spot for Sunday Brunch. Usually I shy away from any buffet because it causes me to overindulge. Notwithstanding either from the menu or from the buffet Water's Edge dining options are very good. We were with a large group and had a time crunch and the server did a yeoman's job of making sure we were finished dining in plenty of time. So, very good food, beautiful surroundings and excellent service makes Water's Edge a good choice.
we have dined here several times while visiting Charleston. I'm certain this will likely be our last visit. Given the many dining options. Our server was unattentive, my flounder was luke warm and in general it seemed the place was trying to close down vs. service the existing customers.
Water's Edge was referred to us by the hotel concierge and wow, it did not disappoint!!! We were seated by the windows and had the most amazing view of the passing boats . We ordered the oyster appetizer, lobster and seafood pasta for dinner, and crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was delicious! Our daughter just moved to the area and I'm sure we'll be stopping here again soon!
