It was a beautiful evening and we sat outside on upper deck. We ate early so we had a table overlooking the water. Our waiter was great... think his name was Randy... not sure. My husband enjoyed his fried shrimp dinner and so enjoyed pasta dish. We had the Bruschetta for an appetizer. My spinach salad was outstanding. My only complaint was that my soup was almost cold. I should have sent it back to warm up. Also, we would have liked a few more items on the menu. Our drinks were excellent.
Very good, waitresses and manager were extremely attentive and friendly.
Great view!! We got a table right by the water!!! The food was good. Typical beach seafood options, not too greasy which was great!!... The waiter took forever to come by... The once she took our orders our salads came out at the same time as our entrees, so we felt very rushed, which is dissapointing. So beware of being rushed, but the view is great and food good...
Fun place for people and boat watching, as it is located at a marina, with two other lively restaurants across the way. Good food and very pleasant staff. Had a good time.
Great dining site with great food. Always take my out of town visitors here. They love it!
We arrived 15 minutes early than our reservation and was told we would be seated closer to that time. About 20 minutes after our reservation time, we were seated. Very nice atmosphere. Food was just okay. She Crab soup was delicious but the Calamari tasted like it came from Captain D's take out, and consisted of a the smallest pieces of calamari I have ever seen. Despite our waitress only being on the job for a few days, she was able to take care of us without any problems. Disappointing experience.
We like going there, because of the fantastic views and because it's buffet style. The buffet consists of an okay selection of foods. It's been the exact same buffet for the last 4 years. A little bit more variety would be nice. I would suggest protecting the omlet ingredients from people speaking and leaning right over them. The fresh omelets are the best and the guy who makes them is super nice. We also liked the potatoes and asparagus. The quiche tasted old from sitting in the food containers for too long. The kitchen staff needs to refill the buffet faster. We waited on some items for over 10 minutes. The melons sit out too long. They didn't taste fresh and weren't cold enough. The bowl is also not covered which means the food is not protected from spit, dust, hair... Plates often come back from the dishwasher dirty. With a few little improvements this brunch could go from good to amazing ;-) Our waiter was awesome and very attentive.
Great atmosphere! Service was good. Red rice was a little dry but the rest of the food was very good. The crab and spinach dip was delicious!
We had a sisters’ weekend in Charleston for the bridge run. The food was great but the service was less than up to par. Had to ask our server as well as other staff members for refills on drinks, extra plates, check, etc. Saw the hostess take cash from a couple for better seating in the restaurant. Have been to several restaurants in Shem Creek but will never come back to Waters Edge again and will let others know the same. For such an upscale restaurant the servers would be more adiquate for a fast food restaurant.
Great place! Wonderful food. It's expensive but the servings are fairly good size so you walk out feeling satisfied. Outside dining looked fun and festive but it was chilly so we opted for inside. Still a great atmosphere.
Highly suggest making a reservation or be prepared to wait for a long time on a busy night.
That food and atmosphere are excellent. We visit every time we visit Charleston.
Location was great, food was average and service was patronizing and left a lot to be desired
Great view, good food, nice evening in Shem Creek!
This was the worst dining experience I have ever had and I travel all over the world. I had better food and service from a roadside stand in Belize. I usually like to give places the benefit of the doubt but our table complained and the 4 tables around us complained as well. Won’t go back. After waiting an hour on my steak and shrimp, the steak that was ordered medium was well done and the shrimp never arrived.
Outstanding location; great view and awesome food. Mostly recommended
Slow service to start. Took 10 minutes before someone took our drink order or gave us water. After initial wait service was very good. Food would of revived a 5 except the chutney that was supposed to come with the duck was missing. This was quickly corrected. I would definitely recommend and revisit.
The hostesses were great. The server, Daniel Hig, was cold and indifferent. The level of service was mediocre at best. After taking our drink order, Daniel did not inquire whether or not we wanted an appetizer, which we did. He seemed to place more concern for other tables around us. I had to get his attention and call him over so that I could order an appetizer. Daniel provided no explanation as to why our appetizer (calamari) and soup took an unusually lengthy time to arrive. My companion and I noticed that tables arriving and ordering after us received their food before us. This was concerning especially when one table ordered similar entrees. I’ve visited Water’s Edge numerous times, and this was the first time the service and food completely missed the mark. The seafood pasta with spicy cream sauce was cold and tasteless. My companion ordered the seafood pasta with marinara sauce which was less than desirable too. The seafood in the pasta, especially the fish, was not seasoned. Because of the service and food, I was quite embarrassed and disappointed, for we were celebrating his birthday, and I previously spoke highly of Water’s Edge. Although both entrees were horrible, my companion could not continue eating his. We were appreciative of Daniel removing his entree. We all have bad days - days where our A game is absent and days where we miss the mark. I guess Water’s Edge’s is no different, and today was their day.
the breakfast buffet was a hit with my family for easter brunch. and a really good deal at only $16 per head for adults ($9 for kids). and, if not in the mood for the buffet, there is also a FULL brunch menu which you can order off of, if you prefer! so much variety. really good food. will be back soon!
Went there for Easter Sunday Brunch. Good, comfort, local food. Beautiful view at water's edge. Server was very attentive. We will definitely be back soon!
Service with a smile. Food amazing as always.
The food was nothing to brag about. I have had better at a mom and pop diner. Rice was cold. Waitress had to bring a side to replace it. The best thing was the drinks and chocolate cake.
Excellent meal, I had the crispy flounder and my son had shrimp and grits both wonderful. A tad bit noidy but service spot on.
Great location. Good food.
Brunch was excellent. Service was very poor. Server inattentive.
Wonderful atmosphere, kind server, delicious brunch!
We had a fantastic server. The grouper was large and flakey, spot on! Everyone else had fantastic entrees.
Spinach and crab app was amazing, wine service was fantastic. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
From the time we were seated to finishing our meal over 2 1/2 hours elapsed. We waited well over 1 hour from order to meal placement on the table. The server did try to keep us informed but offered no compensatory alternatives. He did say he may offer us a reduced price on dessert. There was no apparent reason for the delay except perhaps a very disorganized kitchen.
Price was right! $75 for 2 entrees one salad and 2 drinks.
Food was great.
The restaurant is located in a gorgeous setting, the atmosphere was a lot of fun, and the waitress was the best! The food was rather up and down, though. The shrimp and grits was quite spicy and the she crab soup tasted like lemon.
Lovely view of Shem Creek. Outdoor seating, charming ambiance. Food was good but luke-warm. Staff was courteous. She crab soup was good, but not great. Charleston has great Restaraunts...this one gets a B.
Always a good experience , decent food and sometimes good, service OK, but really good location and environment. Nice ‘go to’ place where it will be a good time and low risk...
Great View of Shem Creek and food was wonderful. The Flounder was light and tasty and the She Crab soup was the best!
Perfect view. Great service.
Love Water's Edge and Shem Creek. I try to go there every time I visit Mount Pleasant.
Excellent Sunday breakfast buffet. Reasonable price, excellent service and great environment.
My son and I were in Mt Pleasant with our Cub Scout Pack camping on the Yorktown. After 3 meals there we wanted some real food. Waters Edge was close by and a great choice.
Made a reservation and only waited a few minutes. Hostesses and server were very nice. Started with a margarita, 7 and ginger, and fish bites which were all very good. Second course was salads - delicious but exceptionally overpriced ($7.50 each for garden salads). My husband had the ribeye with mash potatoes. The potatoes were bland as was the steak. The steak was also so tough he could barely cut it. He enjoys the fat of a ribeye but this cut was so tough, he couldn’t eat the fat. I had crab cakes with vegetables and red rice. The crab cakes were delicious and full of crab.... I could have done without the rice and the sauce that came with them.
Our experience at Water's Edge was beautiful. We were here celebrating our anniversary and enjoyed ourselves very much. Our server was very nice but took a little longer than expected getting our water refilled. My husband guzzles water like a fish and I had to give him mine since we couldn't find our server after a while. Perhaps he had more tables than he could handle. Other than than, our table was great and the food/drinks were excellent aside for the steak being a tad on the fatty side.
The food was wonderful, the service was excellent and the portions were very genrous.
Always a good meal & great service. I come every year and look forward to eating at Waters Edge.
