Watermark Restaurant - Niagara Falls Ratings and Reviews
Loved our meal and service here! Was truly one of the best ever. The only thing I would recommend is to have higher back chairs as we found that we were a little hunched over when we were sitting and had sore backs . I will recommend this restaurant to everyone I know .
The view from the restaurant is amazing. Our server was fantastic but the cook messed up our order and my husbands Lobster tail didn't arrive at the table with the rest of our meal. In fact we ended up taking it to-go. The lobster tail was the best I had ever eaten but it would have been nice to eat it with our meal at the restaurant. I ordered the chicken and I found it to be slightly over cooked and nothing to call home about. Overall it was a good experience and we both enjoyed the view.
I ate at this restaurant back in July of 2017 for my parents anniversary and it was a great experience, so I was really looking forward to going again to celebrate my friends birthday...
This visit was disappointing.
the soup I ordered tasted burnt, the add on lobster tail was rubbery and
the drawn butter also tasted burnt. My short ribs was actually a hunk of pot roast...
My view was obstructed by a plexiglass railing and I looked down on wait staff gather items and such at a small area to get water glasses and things
Not nice to see things that should be behind the scenes and it was distracting
Considering the cost of the bill I had hoped for the great experience I had the first time
Great view of the Falls. Despite some reviews we found the service and friendliness of the staff to be very good. Food is probably best described as average. Small portions. Wine selection was very good and deserts were excellent. Price was acceptable for the experience and views of the illuminated falls after dark.
My husband and I went to The Watermark for our Wedding Anniversary dinner 10/21/17 which also happened to be Sweetest Day. Everything was perfect from the free valet parking, booth facing both falls to the wine and every bit of the meals (lamb, salmon, pea soup, tomato veggie soup, chocolate moose and carrot cake).
Food & view great. The web info needs to be updated. There's no wine choice for the 5-course meal as stated in the web info. The waitress said it was only for one month after the place was opened. Why not update the info so it won't be construed as false advertising.
This restaurant is absolutely awesome! The food is wonderful, just enough and not too much. The attire is casual business, so comfortable but sexy:) and everything we ordered was super yummy. The steak was cooked to a t!! Mostly though, our waitress LISA (blonde) she was outstanding. Super friendly, informative, happy, and overall just a great waitress. We will definitely make this a stopping ground when we are in Canada. And the view is wonderful too, from the 33 floor. Would highly recommend for any occasion!
We were placed under aircon opening and was freezing cold most of the time. After the starters there was a band/live music playing so loud we couldn't even hear what the waiter was saying when he brought our main course . We asked the waiters about it but nothing changed. Service was polite but ackward like when the waiter who gave us bread just dropped it and two times without hitting the plate and just went on.
It was overpriced. The menu stated the shrimp cocktail was with Tiger shrimp which it was not. There were three medium shrimp on a plate with a smear of sauce for each one. Th lighting was poor which caused a reflection on the glass obstructing the widely acclaimed view of the falls.
The elegance or the restaurant it self is awesome and the offer is unbelievable,
Service was okay not outstanding but okay. The menu reads well and will get you excited at glance but the execution of the menu by the kitchen was completely unacceptable I'm a foodie and constiently go out to eat but this was truly the worst food experience ever.
First off our server Peter was great and the view was a great thing and what we went there for. The food stopped there, food was mediocre especially for the price it was filled with four tour groups that thought standing directly in front of our table or having non stop flash shots was ok... this is evidently not unheard of
Additionally their tourism improvement fee is a complete scam.
I had high hopes for this place. To celebrate my birthday, we decided to go upscale. The ambiance and scenic views were amazing. However, the food was terrible and the waitstaff quite forgetful. It's not a chef-run kitchen and it it were, the chef must have been snoozing that night. Some dishes they got right. The polenta was amazing - well-balanced, flavorful, and a good texture. The steak sandwich was done correctly- served juicy, rare, and not hidden behind butter and salt. However, those were the only things this restaurant got right. The mixed drinks were awful. The bar downstairs had much better. The ones at this restaurant rival the sugar-filled junk you'd find on Bourbon St. There was not a keen sense in blending alcohol. My martini was like just sipping olive juice or the blueberry concoction was akin to the knock-off brand of grape soda. We ordered escargot and we got rubbery, gum balls with not infusion of flavor. I ordered a the Arctic Salmon and it was long since over done. It had no flavor, covered in excessive amounts of oil for an already fatty fish, and had the dry texture of shoe leather. What a waste of a good fish. Then, I couldn't eat it for about ten minutes due to the waitstaff never bringing me and cutlery, in that time it went from bad to gross as it grew cold. The long anticipated Malt Vinegar fries were just soggy, flavorless potatoes. It did not have that exterior crispness, interior warm softness. There was zero vinegar flavor and only a very mild, hard-to-detect salty after taste.
All in all, they really failed to impress. I would not recommend this restaurant. There are other much more esteemed places, run by chefs who truly bring out the great quality of the food they serve. This is an over-priced, bar-food type establishment under the disguise of an elegant restaurant.
Come to this Restaurant if you would like a lovely romantic special ocassion place. The drinks are over priced...a 2.95 cent can of hard root beer was 9.00. However the menu is a set price of 3 course for 55.00 or 5 course for 65.00 so there is no surprise there. The menu is small but the taste to everything was lovely. I had the Quail for an appetizer which was odd but tasty, the NY steak which was made to absolute perfection according to my taste, and the carrot cake which I have never had one better. Our waitress was lovely and attentive but not overly intrusive. The view was AMAZING so I suggest making reservations ahead of time and requesting window location. The falls are lit and beautiful. There was live music when we were there and it was great.
Ambiance, food service as well as the view is second to none. Unfortunately there was a private party above us that had a microphone system announcing activities that was a little annoying. When they were done, the level of ambiance elevated to the level we expected when we arrived. It's well worth the experience.
Our visit to The Watermark was absolutely wonderful! Three of us sat down to a spectacular view of the Falls and were greeted almost immediately by Peter, who was our server for the evening. Peter was extremely attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Overall wonderful experience, I'll definitely be back!
Requested and received a table with a great view! My husband and I both chose the filet of beef (up charge) as part of the prix fiix menu. It was served with mashed potatoes and we ordered mushrooms. Good choice! We also enjoyed sweet pea soup, Caesar salad, quail, calimari and shrimp cocktail. Timing for each course was exactly right. Food all tasted good, was well presented and portions were appropriately sized. This service was excellent. We arrived just at dusk and saw the falls in their natural state and then experienced the view of both the American and Canadian Falls illuminated, as well as the ever changing colors of the casino. Dazzling! I would highly recommend Watermark for a special occasion.
Fantastic service and superb view. This restaurant has a set menu which does help with budgeting, that said it should be classed as fine dining and the view means it's a bit more expensive than other similar restaurants.
We arrived for 8pm which allowed us to see the falls illuminated, the staff were very attentive and professional.
The food was very good quality and the portions were reasonable. Definitely somewhere to go if you have a special occasion or want to push the boat out for one meal on your trip.
