Service and ambiance were great. Food was solid. A little disappointed with the sauces for the shrimp cocktail - seemed not to be homemade.
Great dinner. Service was tops. We had a memorable evening with our clients. Thanks
Waitress was great, food was excellent, view was amazing.
My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous meal on Easter Sunday. Our server, Lisa was very helpful and extremely friendly. Would definitely eat at The Watermark again.
My husband and I were very disappointed in this restaurant.
We went to have a nice dinner with a beautiful view.
First of all, we could only order a menu set when 3 course dinner or 5 course dinner. I usually try to ovoid things like that because I want to be flexible in what and how many I want to order.
Second, the view was not so perfect-there is a tall Casino building in between restaurant windows and falls.
Service was awful. It looked like they took college students without any experience. Even though our waiter was nice and polite, it still didn’t cover the fact that he was not knowledgeable in his profession.
Food. Better just to order drinks, honestly. The food is so bad, you don’t want to eat it.
I saw negative feedbacks about this restaurant before we went there. But decided to give it a chance. But was not happy about my experience.
I don’t understand why management of this restaurant doesn’t want to change anything. At least to educate your waiter how utensils should be placed to take or leave the plate. And that they should show the bottle of wine from which they pour it into the glass.
Everything was great about this restaurant; the food and service were amazing.
My only complaint would be the people sitting beside us that let their young children watch something on a tablet without a headset. I would like to go out and enjoy a meal without listening to a children’s video.
Excellent meal. Lovely view. Just a bit pricey. $250 for two of us. $60 dollars for a $12 bottle of wine is a bit over the top. Other than that it was excellent.
Excellent overall. The staff was very friendly very good food ambiCe excellent scenery was spectacular.
The view of the falls was great. Food was fair at best. My wife had a Caesar salad with a soggy piece of romaine lettuce with no cheese. I thought my short ribs were good , appetizers were fair and my wife’s soup was good. For a high priced restaurant the service was fair. Paying for the view not the food.
Great service and awesome view. We have dined on many occasions before and enjoyed it very much. However the past two times the quality of the food was not up to par. We will give it one more try in the near future....fingers crossed the food quality is better.
This restaurant was unbelievably bad. It’s like they went out of their way to make all meat super dry and bland. A little bit of salt goes a long way, but not even Gordon Ramsey himself could have saved these dishes. If you like food, don’t go here. The view was nice. Go grab some Tim Hortons and walk by the falls and you’ll have a far superior experience (and far better bang for your buck).
Spectacular service from the moment we walked into the restaurant to the time we left. Every single staff member was diligent, friendly and made us feel special being there. Amazing view of the falls and the city. Great choice of food! Would definitely recommend this restaurant!!
The food was good, the price was fair and the presentation was unique. the serving staff was very friendly
We both enjoyed our dinner. The view is spectacular and service outstanding.
We dined early in the evening before a show at the casino. The restaurant was pretty empty at 6 pm when we arrived but filled up before we left. We were initially disappointed that we were not seated at one of the empty tables along the window but decided not to request a move as it was a cold evening and we were concerned about the cold air draft from the huge windows overlooking the falls. We had a great view of the falls from our raised booth and agreed later we had made the correct decision when we saw other diners along the window putting their coats on as they waited for their food. Our server was very friendly and chatted with us when taking our orders. We each choose the three course prix fix menu and it was plenty. We shared four apps and two mains. The apps were a ceasar salad, an Ontario beet salad, scallops, and the Pingue Prosciutto. All were delicious. For mains we had Pappardelle with ragout of short ribs and Jail Island Salmon. My only weak complaint would be that the ample salmon steak was not seasoned to any noticeable degree. The Pappardelle dish was outstanding and was more than enough of a serving. Our service was attentive and very quick giving us plenty of time to go to the casino and loose some more money before our show.
The Waiter was great. Food delicious. The view was beautiful. I would highly recommend it.
Mouthwatering and appetizing food, impeccable and flawless service, immaculate ambiance,
excellent wine menu and unquestionably great value. We will be back.
The staff was Amazing! We enjoyed the atmosphere and the pleasant welcome and thoughtfulness that the staff provided to remember the special occasion we were celebrating.
It was the best and romantic dinner I have every had. Thank you
The 3 or 5 course menu options were plentiful and the food was top-notch. The wine list was extensive with a significant number to choose from the Niagara region. We tried the private reserve cabernet sauvignon for the first time. It was delicious. Our server Melissa was a consummate professional, attentive and very friendly. The greeter who seated us and checked in on us after we received our food was also attentive and very personable. The view of the falls is breathtaking at night. We will definitely come back to the Watermark the next time we are in Niagara Falls.
We went for our anniversary....great meal, great service, great atmosphere. I would highly reccommend the lamb, we will definitely be back!
Our Server Darren has excellent customer service, very knowledgeable about the menu and made good suggestions for us
Our best dining experience ever. The view, the service, the food...tops in everything. We will be back.
My Husband made reservations for my birthday on Feb 22 the food was great and the staff very welcoming upon arrival.. beautiful decor and nice view of the US and Horshoe Falls.. would definitely go back for dinner.
The Service was fantastic, but I'd recommend other restaurants over this one to a friend, mostly because of the price. On paper it looks like a good, reasonably priced restaurant, with fixed pricing options of $59 or $69. However, it's not clear what comes with each menu item, and there are lots of add-on's that do significantly add up. For example, we weren't told there was potato with our steaks, so my husband ordered fries, which then didn't get eaten. I also ordered additional veggies which, it turns out, were not really necessary. My husband also added lobster, and we each had a couple of drinks.
Admittedly, we had drinks and lobster, which all add up, but I was still shocked to get a bill over $250 on a fixed price menu. We'd eaten the night before at the Braza for a lot less and the meal had been at least as good.
So, while the ambiance and service were great, and the view and seating is great for quiet dates or relaxing evenings, I'd probably say go with another choice for the money.
Outstanding fine dining experience, view is spectacular.
This dining experience was a big let down.
The service was mediocre- we ordered a bottle of wine, but we had to continually refill our own glasses. Our server was okay but very shy and did not do much more than check to see how the food was. Once we received our mains she disappeared and we did not see her until they were done.
The food was very disappointing. I ordered the octopus, risotto and carrot cake. Octopus was sliced into three hair-thin pieces with a pile of arugula on top. The amount of octopus you actually got was very sad. The plate came out very messy with sauce on the outside of the rim which ended up on my blouse. The risotto was absolutely disgusting. A gross fusion between bad Mac and cheese and scalloped potatoes with a horrible aftertaste, and the consistency of very cheesy mashed potatoes. When this was aired with a server she made a joke about the saffron and nothing was done. The carrot cake was a loaf and filled with strawberry that the menu did not mention at all. When our regular server came back after the complaint about the food she did not address it and charged for the full meal regardless of it being edible. They picked up the full plate of risotto and that was that. The two or three pieces of shrimp on top were good.
Overall very disappointing experience. You hope that spending $250 on a dinner for 2 would ensure great food but that is not the case here. Only thing good about this restaurant was the view of the falls and the company I brought.
Good good, good service, good view and good value. No complaints.
We were a bit Leary with the 3.6 stars when we booked, but we liked the items on the menu and we were staying at the Hilton. I have to say, the food was outstanding. We were so impressed with our meal, the service and the ambiance. I had the lamb, it was thick and meaty which surprised us both, and my boyfriend had the short rib. It was tender, meaty and absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and we plan to come again next year.
We dined at The Watermark for dinner and breakfast the next day. Staff were extremely efficient and friendly.
We were celebrating a belated Valentine's dinner together and thoroughly enjoyed a romantic dinner for two over seeing the falls. Everything was fantastic. Definitely would go back again. Well worth every penny. Thank you to the chef's and serving staff. Very personal and professional.
Our server...i think his name was Kevin?? Excellent, he was attentive and personable. Very much enjoyed our dinner.
I have stayed at this hotel many times and disappointed that it was my first time at the Watermark restaurant. Everything was fabulous, food ambiance etc. One thing I would recommend though is... if you are acknowledging that we are there for a special occasion (in my case my husbands birthday) it would have been nice to see that either a card at the table or a very small desert or just something saying Happy Birthday. Just a thought that would definitely make an impact.
Did get my appetizer and still was charged for it as it was a prix fix meal
The view was spectacular. Food was delicious. Highly recommend it.
The food was lovely, great ambience and we sat right next to the window with a very pretty view. Drinks were a little on the pricey side, and I ordered a 2nd round of the martini I was drinking and was given a conpletely different dribk the 2nd time. It was still a very tastey drink but not what I was originally drinking lol.
Overall really good experience and they brought me chocolate creme brule for dessert for my birthday and it was soo Good! :)
The ambiance is stunning and the service was perfect. The food however left a lot to be desired. I ordered the one plant-based option and it looked like canned chilli. I expected much better for the price.
A bit overpriced for the food and wine list. Definitely paying for the view.
Second visit and was just as impressed this time. Server was attentive and nowledgeble . Food was amazing. Cooked to our request and so delicious and we love the whole ambiance of the Watermark. Can t wait to return
I guess it wasn't a total loss!
I'll make it short and straight to the point!
Great view, 2 of the appetizers and wine were good. And I'm glad at least we had that, because otherwise it would have been a complete loss.
Mushroom soup and calamari were phenomenal. Escargot was meh, bland and not tasty at all and the rest of the meal was just terrible!
Risotto, was NOT risotto but instead mushy overcooked rice, shrimp on it was bland, we ate 2 of the 3 to say we did. Chicken supreme was not too bad but the sauce and mashed under it was not appetizing at all.
Waitress came to take our plates and took absolute no interest in finding out why 3/4 of our food or more was still on our plates, maybe she already knew what we were going to say and thought it was best to avoid the answer by not asking?!
$55/pp for an appetizer each, which is all that was acceptable to eat is a bit much for most people's price. Then you are hit with the ridiculous bill and you feel even worse about your choice, plus tipping and the ridiculous "tourist tax". We felt like we'd been robbed.
Upon leaving you stand right in front of the "check in" desk and the girls were just too busy chatting away to thank the people leaving, us included.
Saw the manager a few times going to a couple tables, not once did she come to ours or to the tables in our close proximity. I suppose picking and choosing which to great?
The view was great with "mood" music and sufficient without the belting out of the gentleman singing.
Very disappointing, will not go back or recommend it at all.
