My boyfriends paella was good but my lamb was fairly tastelessness. Service was great and ambiance was nice I just wouldn’t order the lamb.
Super brunch with great food and awesome service!!
We went for Brunch to celebrate my daughter-in-law’s birthday! Marco was our server and he was outstanding, great guy with a great personality and he made our dining experience awesome! The mimosa’s and Bloody Mary’s were good and brunch items were yummy! We’ll be back for sure because Watermarc is one of our favorites! That was our first time for Brunch we usually have dinner at Watermarc!
Anniversary dinner. Wade was fantastic, the food was unbelievable!
Went to Watermarc as part of a business trip and could not have been more pleased with the choice we made in going there. The menu was creative and fun and loaded with plenty of choices for sharing. Save room for desserts! The strawberry shortcake was decadent and the lunch box home made ding dongs (you'll see what I mean) were fun and fantastic. Don't hesitate for a date night, a business dinner or a night out with friends!
I always love going to Watermarc. We had a few vegetarians in our group and there is always something for everyone.
They forgot my daughter’s birthday
We went for our anniversary. The food was really good. I had the scallops and my husband had the ribeye. Both cooked perfectly. We started with the fried goat cheese - yum! The service was great! We can’t wait to go back!
My husband and I came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. Service was excellent. We both started with a cocktail The Watermarc for him and the Blueberry Coconut Mojita, then added a grazing plate of the day with lobster and risotto - everything was delicious!
We were then brought some bread and butter. We absolutely love fresh bread and what we served was awful - dry and tasted like cardboard - the delicious butter couldn't save it. We reach tried with a couple different pieces and then tossed it on our appetizer plates when ours plates were cleared.
For the main entrée we each had the Filet Three Ways - perfectly cooked as we requested...and a side of Spätzle Mac N Cheese - a bit disappointing - kind of bland.
They brought our a crème brûlée with a candle for his birthday which we enjoyed with espressos.
We ordered the seafood paella and instead of the usual plate full of rice it was brimming with delicious seafood. It was excellent value and we will be back!
Only ok
The last 3-4 times here, only ok
Nothing exciting
The bass special was undercooked
Drinks.... nothing special
Overall, just ok
I would absolutely recommend sister restaurant 230 Forest over Watermarc
Everyone who attended loved the food, location, and service. It was a big hit with a number of different tastes! Well done!
Definitely try the homemade ricotta, its wonderful
It was my 5-year wedding anniversary so we just wanted to get away for the night. We had never been to Watermarc but we had a great experience! They brought us a creme brûlée for dessert and the service was great.
Watermarc is always a great option for special occasions. Food is always delicious and refined and service is always great.
Just so-so...The food has become overproduced, overwembellished, and lost the sense of fine cooking by sacrificing finesse for pizzazz.
Delicate fish dishes are piled high with pickled garnishes, overwhelming what may have been a fine plate.
Meat dishes have purees, sauces, garnishes piled high...where's the sense of good food?
...extremely loud ...couldn't have a quiet conversation...
Service was 'meh' at best
Common and underwhelming bottles of wine, and that was after asking the server for a recommendation.
So disappointed~
This is a great place, one of the few in the area that serves greenlip mussels. Husband had the pork chop and said it was outstanding. Wine by the glass is good and reasonably priced. Downtown Laguna Beach - fun.
We thought everything was just okay. Nothing special. Menu looked good but the food we ordered was average. We are visiting and other places we’ve gone in NB much better for similar price point.
seafood paella was good not great. The Marc-Quet salad was tasteless, very bland. Pork chop was very good. The night before we were at 230 Forest around the corner and the menu and choices were so unbelievable similar. The wine list was similar. The bread was served the exact same way, heated and wrapped in a long paper bag. The butter had bits of olives in it. The butter plates were in an odd but nice shape. Exactly the same as the other place. There was even a lamb chop appetizer which is unusual in both. So I asked if there was any relation to the other and I was told it was same chef-owner. If we weren’t at the other place, 230 Forest, just the night before I would have liked it better. But it was so the same, just different venue. We actually liked 230 Forest a bit better. We have been at both restaurants last trip to Calif. and will probably be back again. We also were half hour late and we called and told them and they were very nice.
We enjoy Watermarc often. While we love their dinner menu and happy hour offerings, our favorite is weekend breakfast (Forest Avenue omelette) and $5 mimosas and bloody mary's. Service is always top notch whether at the bar or in the dining room.
Watermarc is by far our favorite dining spot in Laguna Beach! From the atmosphere to the service to the outstanding menu, Watermarc exceeds expectation!
Spanish Octopus - Very good, the most tender octopus I have ever had
Brussels Sprouts - Very good - bacon lardons were amazing!
Lamp Chops - Just Ok - I wanted to love this but it was way to salty, I like aggressive seasoning but they borderlined on inedible. Wanted more of the hummus for balance
House made Ricotta - Phenomenal!! - We ended the meal with this (Very French of us) and I am now obsessed. Served with Spanish Almonds, Honey Comb and Raisins on the vine. So simple yet so good. I plan try and make it at home
Excellent as always. Food and service never disappoint!
Really great food, service and ambiance! We will go back—loved the table on the outdoor patio facing the chocolate shop.
Very nice server, let us not feel rushed. Personable
Food was served warm and as ordered
always have a great dinner, Kevin our waiter is fantastic
Flavorful meals, great service, lovely atmosphere. Overall great vibe and experience.
Watermarc is a breathe of Fresh Air in a County that loves it's corporate restaurants. The menu is obviously chef driven and interesting...not everybody gets this. Looks like they have a lot of fun with their "Grazing Plates" portion of the menu. We had the Fried Laura Chenel Goat Cheese and a plate of Smoked New York Strip Carpaccio. Both were excellent starters. A couple that I didn't get to try on this visit were the Thai Chili Duck Wings and the Greenlip Mussels with Duck Fat Fries. Entree portions were generous & beautiful. I love that they don't overcook their Seafood. My Cedar Planked Salmon was moist, flavorful and melted in my mouth. My wife's 3-Way Filet Mignon was also outstanding. I can go on & on..
Can't wait to return....Ask for Keith. He was a great knowledgeable server that definitely knew how to take care of us and not be too intrusive. Truly a professional!!! Good job Chef Marc and your Watermarc Team.
Fantastic restaurant. Would definitely visit again. The food is great! Love the small plates selection. A great place for a date night or a special occasion.
Food was d-e-l-i-s-h! Only had about a 5 minute wait with reservations. Appetizers, drinks, entrees & sides were all very tasty and well made. It just so happened that my husband looked at the bill and we were charged for an extra entree but otherwise all was very good.
Birthday!!! Amazing experience
Our server was very friendly and made the occasion special
We enjoyed our Date Night very much. The Burger au Poivre was one of the best burgers I've ever had, along with the onion rings and fries. The portions were just right. DELICIOUS! The ambiance was to our liking. No surprise; at five o'clock it was quiet. The music wasn't intrusive. Service was excellent. The martini was very good. We give our experience a solid 10. We've put Watermark on our Rut List and we'll probably be back next week.
Outstanding as always!!! This is a favorite and never disappoints. Lucy, the manager is the best!
Don’t miss the scallops, best ever. They also have many great vegetables- pickled. Other favs are the blistered peppers and cauliflower
Good overall. Was expecting better food, but for the price I would recommend. I like Broadway better though.
Simply perfect in every way!
Watermarc is always good. We went for lunch on Sunday and had a great time and excellent service.
Wonderful restaurant with lots of unique dishes. We enjoyed the shrimp appetizer, then the wedge salad and finally the seafood paella. The atmosphere was nice and the service was great.
