Waterman Grille Ratings and Reviews
We were very pleased with our first experience at Waterman Grille. The food was excellent and we had a fun time on our date. The only drawback was my husbands drink seemed to be made not very well, and it’s something simple that he orders everywhere and even makes at home. Not sure if the soda was flat, or if a different product (other than Coca-Cola) was substituted, but he did ask for a second and it was still not much of an improvement...other than that the food was spectacular and we will go back!!
We had appetizers (salads, soup and octopus), entrees and dessert. There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed every component of our meals. We would recommend window seating for the view and because it seemed a little less noisy. Our waiter was excellent! He was extremely attentive, detailed with descriptions and responsive. A special mention about the desserts; the pastry chef is really creative and offers unique, delicious options.
Was brought "upstairs" to a room that was easily 80 degrees. Date said she was fine, but i guess the benefit is I believe I sweated off some of my meal. Service was good, food was solid... but that darn heat. Fireplace though lovely, was blaring! Too bad as the temp was really a factor (date said "she was fine"), and it isn't the least expensive restaurant in the area so would hope for solid ambiance. So avoid that upstairs area, or at least ask to "feel it out" first. Overall a solid meal, though a bit pricey.
It was our anniversary celebration dinner. A card signed by the staffs and a glass of champagne greeted us with a Happy Anniversary from our server. Our server Scott was knowledgeable, friendly and excellent at providing the best service. The food was well prepared and delicious. We go there frequently and we always enjoy.
The Waterman Grille is our go to place whenever we attend an event or the theater in Providence. Yesterday we chose the brunch menus as we were attending a 1:00 show at PPAC. Our meal, as always, was wonderful. Our server, Rachel, was excellent and engaging. She is a valuable asset to your staff.
A lovely venue and terrific food. The service was great; we didn't feel hurried and our questions were answered easily with recommendations that were clearly coming from informed servers. Can't wait to return. And . . . parking for this city restaurant was a breeze.
Went to Waterman Grille again and continue to love this place. The service was great and the food was delicious. Order the spare rib appetizer and enjoy the sauce and spice. I would also recoomend the short rib with polenta.
They also have a nice wine list and beers offered.
Amazing, as usual!! Brunch at Waterman is always delicious and today was no exception. We started with the cheese plate, which is a perfect beginning to a dining experience here - can’t beat super fresh & local cheese. I had the crab cakes eggs Benedict, and it was out of this world. Waterman remains my favorite restaurant in Providence!
Wonderful evening at Waterman! Was there to celebrate a birthday. We were a little late & called ahead of time to let them know we were running late. We had requested a window table but it was occupied when we got there - no problem at all!! We sat at the bar in the mean time to get a drink to wait for a window table but the manager approached us a few mins later at the bar letting us know the guests at the table are enjoying their dessert and if we wanted another table. We appreciate the honesty! We were seated at another table which was just as nice. Received a bday card from the server which was a very nice, personal touch. The server was very knowledgeable, attentive, and professional. Food was delicious!! My husband is an Exec Chef so he's usually very critical but even he had no complaints with service, food, or ambiance!! :-) Never felt rushed. Wonderful evening!
The Waterman Grill is a lively spot for Sunday brunch. The menu provides many options that fit a wide variety of tastes. Service is attentive and brunch drinks are very reasonable priced. Sitting on the enclosed porch area, the view of the river and bridge is pleasant even in the winter months. It is more fun to sit there when the row teams are working out in the spring and summer. The space for dining is very tight, thus, the noise level was high, yet a solid conversation can be had. I appreciate that a reservation can be made for two people or more. This makes the Waterman Grill a return to place for brunch.
My husband and I enjoyed our date. The host and our server were very pleasant and on point. The food came out in the appropriate amount of time, pacing the courses nicely. The food was excellent. My husband had the sirloin and I, the salmon. My only suggestion for the kitchen was that both our meals were a little too salty.
