Waterman Grille Ratings and Reviews
Wonderful restaurant especially if you sit on the covered porch or outside. Inside is dark and quite noisy. The food is delicious but the servings are over the top huge. We each had the same appetizer and it was too much to eat for a main course. We did not order a main course because we knew the appetizers were so large. The service was excellent in terms of speed and attitude.
I took my family to the Waterman Grille for my daughter's birthday and made a note on my online reservation that it was in celebration of her birthday. When we arrived at the restaurant she was greeted with several "Happy Birthday" wishes and presented a birthday card from the staff, which was pretty cool and a first for me. The rest of our dining experience was excellent and it was topped-off with a sampling of "birthday" deserts all complimentary from the restaurant. It all made for an extra special night for our daughter and the rest of us! Thanks to all at the Waterman Grille.
Outstanding in all aspects. My wife's and I's new favorite restaurant. Great ambience, stellar service, fantastic cuisine. Best scallops I've ever eaten. Peter, our waiter, was a joy. My only complaint is that the restaurant is not closer to Boston ;) Will not pass through Providence again without stopping at the Waterman Grille.
The scallops were delicious and cooked to perfection ... plated with a variety of delicious fresh vegetables and the sauces were amazing. Beautiful presentation. My husband had the sirloin steak, which was flavorful, tender and perfectly cooked. Cozy atmosphere and relaxing sitting by the river.
Fantastic melding of flavours and textures, exquisite sauce pairings to each dish, and carefully crafted cocktails to add the perfect accent to one's meal. Beautiful waterfront seating, a cozy brick and dark wood dining area tucked in an unassuming part of the city.
There flies in the dining room. Management said that they have no resolution to the issue.
The manager did not come on his own initiative to our table. I had to call him.
This brunch was better than a previous dinner.
I tried to contact Newport Restaurant Group to address this problem privately. I received no reply.
Had let the restaurant know that we were cousins celebrating each other's birthdays. They greeted us with birthday cards from the staff and brought us a free dessert to share. These things on top of good service and suggestions from Tina, our server, and delicious food. We were very happy we chose Waterman Grille for our celebration dinner!
We are visiting from the Pacific Northwest, I was looking for a place with all the charm of new England and a local favorite:) Found it here;) there were at least 3 special occasion dinners eating around us. So very nice thank you
Also I have food allergies and they accommodated them wonderfully.
Deserves nothing but 5 stars. Great food and even better service. The general manager Paul really talk cares of his customers, meticulous working in every aspect of the restaurant. Our server Rachel is awesome and funny, I dropped my water and spilled it, not only did she clean it up but came back with another glass of water with a red cap on it :D
We had a great view of the river at sunset. The staff was highly attentive; we were asked by two manager types as well as our waiter how everything was at each course. We thought the calamari was stellar and the fixed price menu was a great value. The creme brulee was pretty incredible, too. You really can't go wrong here, especially on a summer night when you can take advantage of the view.
My husband and I celebrated my birthday dinner at the Waterman Grille. It was absolutely fantastic! We enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar along with an appetizer, and then followed up with dinner. The food and the service was great. We will definitely be back.
Had a wonderful birthday celebration. Sat outside overlooking the river. Waitress was very attentive to the fact I had allergies and had the chef prepare my food properly. I received a candle in my dessert and a birthday card from Waterman's Grill! Great service, great food. Look forwarding to returning next year.
Went here during Restaurant Week and ordered from the $29 pp menu. There were 3 starts, 3 entrees and 2 desserts to choose from. I had the pasta pesto. It was flavorful with arugula, tomatoes. However, it seems that many restaurants are suffering from the idea that patrons want their pasta undercooked and then calling it "al dente". Waterman's was a bit better than some others, but still had that chewy under cooked mouth feel. My husband was satisfied with his meal and I've forgotten what he had :). We both ordered one of each of the desserts to try both. I had the lemon berry ice cream sandwich. This was a lovely combination of the tart/sweet flavors of the lemon & berry. The lemon cookie sandwich part was a bit difficult to eat since it was frozen and rock hard. My husband got the tres leche cake which he liked but was too full to finish. I thought the tres leche was overly sweet, but I think that's a trademark of the dessert. The location of this restaurant is nice too. It sits on the river and has outdoor seating. If I return to Providence, I may try this place again when it isn't restaurant week.
I was lucky to get a table here at peak hours on Water-fire night. The place was abuzz with guests. Beautiful ambiance. After a very short wait, we were seated. The staff was courteous and attentive. They have a great selection for both food and drinks. The water view adds to the charm of this place. Overall an excellent experience. Highly recommended.
Waterman Grille, Providence Rhode Island, July twenty, twenty seventeen…
Beautiful waterside setting featuring indoor and outdoor seating. Whether inside or out, you will be impressed with the views. Inside, a blend of red brick and medium woods. Outdoor, patio furniture perfectly matched to its surroundings. The staff is friendly and attentive.
For starters… The Corn Chowdah… Queso fresco, smoked paprika oil… This is probably the finest soup of its kind anywhere! Amazing texture, creamy consistency and just the slightest hint of kick. Wow, this will change your life.
And for the main this evening… Wood-Grilled Filet Mignon…Mashed potatoes, and roasted asparagus served atop red wine jus… The Filet was a perfect cut, somewhere between eight and nine ounces with that rich smoked flavour…
We had brunch here a few days ago that was fabulous so I figured I’d come back for dinner… Truly outstanding…
