We both had fish tacos which were a special that night. They were excellent. Nice wine and beer offerings also.
I made a reservation for dinner on Easter Sunday. I was not informed that the main dining room overlooking the harbor was CLOSED for renovations. No mention of it whatsoever. We were seated us in a lobby lounge for this holiday dinner. The table was not even ready when we arrived. They had to clean it and set it up even though we had a reservation and there was no one else dining in that area or waiting at the time. I didn't want to make a fuss so I quietly went over to the hostess and shared this feedback. She had nothing to say except she was sorry.
Excellent Food and Service! Great for Breakfast on the weekend.
The waiter was outstanding!
We had wonderful service, all three meals we had one Asian waitress. Couldn't ask for better hospitality...She was filling shifts, the restaurant was short staff for the holidays.. I look forward to coming back...
Sincerely, Angela Gallo
Old friends just getting together :)
Beautiful place in a great area. Food was absolutely fantastic. Waiter was very attentive and great! Definitely would recommend it. Went on a Thursday for $25 whole Lobster. So great!!!
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The service was great...our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The menu was interesting, and the prices seemed fine for a nice restaurant. But...and, this is most important, the food was not as fresh and flavorful as it should have been. In such a competitive restaurant scene as Boston, and, with the Marriott tradition of excellence, the food should have been better...specifically, the salmon was overlooked and the quinoa /veggie salad it was served on was dry and flavorless. The lobster was over boiled, the baked potato and corn over cooked . I hope this is helpful...there's room to improve.
Overall, B+. The service and place were at a good location, we probably expected a nicer setting given its proximity to the wharf but is nothing they promoted, just something we assumed...
For the place and service, the September lobster special is a good deal, just slightly overdone but a good deal nonetheless. Shrimp cocktail has good room for improvement, but big, quality meat used in it.
Drinks are quite unremarkable, another restaurant where their signature cocktail lacks personality.
Would we go again? Sure, not a bad deal, we'll just set expectations to the right level...
Did not expect restaurant to be a bar extension. Although views are great and food is good, expect the ambiance to be that if a bar, with the noise level loud.
Just underwhelming ...the food was ok, with the exception of the cole slaw (inedible). Very few other diners made it seem cold.. Mike was good and attentive as the waiter.
Fun atmosphere
Had an amazing and wonderfully accommodating staff on hand and we enjoyed ourselves immensely! The food was good but I would have liked to have seen more options, I felt rather limited.
All good. St. Pat's meal
Food quality was good and very good service.
Service was great. Chowder was excellent. Had 2 very good meals here.
Made reservations here because it had solid reviews on OpenTable. I definitely regretted not taking into consideration that people were likely leaving reviews in relativity to other hotel restaurants. On a good note, the appetizers we got (chips and beer cheese dip & clam chowder) were great! On the not-so-great note, my boyfriend ordered the salmon, and it had virtually no flavor. I ordered the cobb salad, which was also pretty lack-lustrous and not very enjoyable. That being said, great place to come for apps and drinks, but there are SO many better options in town if you want a decent meal.
The service was prompt and cheery. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection.
My daughter's friend was in Boston with her kids. I thought Joes in the Waterfront. Winner of 2016 Battle of the Burger, perfect fit for all. Great setting outside, food kids could get and one more burger for me. What's not to like? Love Joe's!
This place was rated very high on Yelp and its a Hotel Lobby restaurant! ughhhh! We got there and immediately turned around and walked out, disappointing!
We had a nice lunch, my husband enjoyed his turkey sandwich and my burger was incredibly delicious
Great place for late night meal and also went back for brunch
The noise level when we were there was due to a pre-wedding function. There are other areas where this event could have been held.
Waterline is a great example of a fine hotel restaurant. The service was totally up to standard and the food was delicious. They accommodated children and special diets with perfect professionalism. The restaurant has a lovely view of the Long Wharf and as it was Navy Week we had great views of sailors and Marines parading down the wharf. The prices were in line with what I would expect at a major hotel, but since I not am accustomed to dining in major hotels all the time, they felt high to me, hence the 4-stars for value. But, again, it is what we would have paid anywhere else for dinner downtown. The Fish and Chips was perfect, the cooks really know how fry; my husband had a gorgeous salad presented on a long and perfect piece of prosciutto. Kids' hamburger and hot dogs were cute mini burgers and dogs. Looked like two pieces of what might have been a three-piece adult appetizer. Both loved their food. Looked like a great place to meet friends downtown and a nice atmosphere to hang out at the bar.
The brisket and cheese fries were very good. The blueberry upside down cake was very good. The service was excellent! I did notice a few disparities between the menu on the app and their menus on site.
The Waterline is so convenient coming in to Boston to meet friends. The service was excellent this time and with a "reserved" sign on my table, I felt like they appreciated the many times I come back . They expanded the menu and the fish tacos and the sliders are great. Prices seem more reasonable than in the past. And the waitstaff was extremely efficient and professional this time. Never felt rushed. I'll be returning soon.
Great service... Good selection on menu... Could use some more fresh seafood options.
The actual menu was different than the website. When I noted that, they were very nice, apologized and gave me a complimentary salad....which came at the same time as the main course. The salmon was very good but tha accompanying risotto was greasy.
Not bad for a hotel restaurant. Should have more local fish/seafood offerings and a gluten free menu.
On Boston harbor. Great view. Good food. Casual and fun. A bit noisy but will definitely be back!
I frequently meet friends at the restaurant and take advantage of the 2 hour free parking. Very rare in Boston. The drinks are very expensive but the food choices are reasonable. And Michael, our server, is always professional and first rate.
I was traveling in Boston with my husband and wanted a nice, quiet restaurant where I would feel comfortable eating alone. While he was attending a business function. The chowder was yummy, the atmosphere comfortable and the servers' level of attention was just right. Thanks for a nice meal/evening.
not bad for a hotel restaurant... convenient, reasonably priced menu, good choices of draft beers.
I have always loved this place because it's a nice, secret spot that is a great last stop for the night or a quick lunch. Their food is creative and delicious and the wine list is spot on. The bartenders are always super friendly and the ambiance is fantastic.
Little menu options for dinner. Service was great
Clam chowder was hearty, worth trying. Lobster roll was great too!!
Beet salad highly recommended!!
This restaurant in the Marriott Long Wharf hotel has a nice view (for a select few tables ) of the harbor and the overall interior is airy, modern and pleasant. The food is just as good, if not better, with a wide-ranging menu of the usual favorites (salad, burgers, sandwiches, but also the random Indian dish and more innovative appetizers). the prices are quite reasonable, and portions decent without being excessive. The only complaint is that on a recent night the music speakers were turned up WAY too loud. I would definitely return if in the neighborhood.
We went for my wife's birthday and had an amazing experience. The service was top notch and they even brought us out a piece of birthday cake without asking. I had the fish of the day and it was spectacular. My wife had the lobster roll which was also great. We were really just wowed by the service overall and would highly recommend this restaurant.
My friend and I shared the shrimp cocktail app'r -- it was outstanding -- best shrimp and salsa style cocktail sauce we've had in years.
food was ok. priced fine but all was really heavily salted. we got burgers and calamari and all was a bit overcooked too.
