Our experience was excellent. The restaurant is very pretty, with a light atmosphere. The service was excellent, food was good, and not very expensive. We will come back again!
It was our first visit. Food was delicious and beautifully served. Amiable service, good wine and reasonably priced. Enjoyed our evening and we plan to!be back real soon.
It is a special joy to help prepare these students for the real world experience ahead of them. By interacting with them in this wonderful atmosphere, where fine food, carefully prepared and artistically presented is the goal, we together share a very special experience, however brief.
The Waterleaf is our "go-to" choice for our special remembrances.
After a tour, we had lunch at the Waterleaf. This restaurant is a “lab” for students in the culinary and hospitality programs at College of DuPage. You are in a “classroom” albeit a lovely and delectable classroom. The students do a great job. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We visited during lunch hour. I believe they are only open two or three days a week for lunch. A reservation is perhaps required.
This is part of the culinary school at COD and the staff is largely students.
The food was served well and was really great.
My friend and I enjoyed our lunch, as usual. We both had the salmon and it was perfectly cooked. The soup, salad, and dessert were awesome too.
the restaurant is only open on Tuesday nights and for lunch. I can't recommend it because it is almost impossible to get reservations.
The culinary students at College of DuPage really do a great job. The food is delicious and the service is great. You have several choices for soup, salad, main dish and desert. You can also have wine with dinner. Great place for lunch or dinner.
wonderful valentine alternate night out, I love the students professionalism
Upscale restaurant with affordable prices. This is my fourth time eating at Waterleaf and have enjoyed all of my visits there. Hope to get my Red Hats group there soon for a nice outing.
The new semester has started and the food, service and ambiance continues in the same excellent manner we have come accustomed to.
Everything was just excellent it made my friend’s 70th birthday celebration very special. I’m bringing another friend in to celebrate her 70th in April.
Absolutely excellent food and wonderful hospitality. We enjoy being able to dine in beautiful atmosphere and if you wish interact with the culinary students. This restaurant is a true gem.
The dessert was dry but otherwise, it was a great meal.
Food is very good. Excellent value for money. First rate ambiance including exterior views from dining room
I love that you can have a conversation in this lovely restaurant and be heard! Also, the food was fantastic, especially the amuse-bouche and the pumpkin soup!
We have dined here for years. The students try so hard. It is always a fun evening.
Our server was excellent, but the kitchen was very slow, and the entree I ordered was all gone. Neverless, the food was delicious, so I'd definitely recommend Waterleaf to friends.
Just love going to Waterleaf. The students always do an amazing job both in the kitchen & serving!
What a wonderful restaurant! The food was marvelous and the wait staff both knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great time and will be back!
Delightful and tasty food served by a competent staff in a lovely setting.
Great food- great value. The culinary students of College of DuPage provide for an excellent meal. The choices were wonderful and the portion size just right. The food was delicious. I would definitely return.
Great place for Birthday parties, wonderful, comfortable surroundings, beautiful outdoor views.
Excellent food. Great service. Love it at the waterleaf
We always enjoy this restaurant. It's the College of DuPage culinary school's student operated restaurant.
This is my second time dining at Waterleaf and I'm going again with the Woodridge Park District in November. I feel Waterleaf is an upscale restaurant at a very affordable price.
Student-Run dining is off to a great start.
For the first week the focus is on American Southern cooking. I would have loved a tub of the roasted corn & crawfish soup! YUM. The arugula salad was great; the lemon vinaigrette nicely complemented the arugula.
I was skeptical about the pickled okra w/ the flounder--SO good!!
And their coffee is great!
The service was pretty good for a student. And it was nice to see everyone helping each other out.
Certainly a plus to get this quality food for 1/3 it would cost in the city.
It's a beautiful restaurant.
So sad that it is only open little.
Thumbs up from me! Can't wait for the New England focus!
This was the first of this Summer's gastronomical trip around the world with COD's International Cuisine class. This menu was "Persia" with five courses. Everything tasted delicious and was served by friendly student servers. We were able to make reservations for the rest of the scheduled lunches (except for the "Korean" on July 11). They are offered every Tuesday from June 13 to July 18. We are looking forward to experience the rest of the presentations.
Small portions but enough to eat and very nicely presented. Tasty food combinations and great service by the students in the culinary program. Always a good view.
Everything was fabulous as usual and a special shout out to our waiter Miguel A. Who was the best!!
Dr. Pat Pimental
This is a great dining value and the restaurant is a training program for College of DuPage students.
We always love being a part of the Student Run Dinners at COD. We try to interact with the servers and learn about what they want to do with their degrees. The food is always very good and beautifully presented.
Thesis what it should be a student operated restaurant. The day we came there was a large party and the service was attentive, but the large party sucked all the oxygen out of the room. A lunch was a pleasant 90 minute experience.
Always a tasty and well presented meal at Waterleaf, though sometimes portions are a bit small. Interesting to talk to the students who are serving, since they are in COD's culinary program. They are a bit novice to table service, but they are always professional.
I would have rated Waterleaf outstanding except that the kitchen was very slow on this one day. I can't wait to go back!
Waterleaf never fails to deliver an outstanding meal. I recently experienced the Lebanese dinner from the international series. The meal was an incredible melding of flavors and spices accompanied by excellent wine pairings. I knew I was in for a treat as soon as I entered the building and encountered the aroma of spices wafting down the corridor. The students did an excellent job on service and in the kitchen. This beautiful restaurant is a hidden gem not to be missed.
Excellent food and service! Elegant and very clean. Good value .
Again, another wonderful experience at Waterleaf. Our server was so comfortable in what she was doing and answered our questions about the food and her course work, as this is a class in the culinary school. The pork tenderloin sandwich was delicious, as was the cauliflower soup and arugula/pear salad. My friends got the salmon entrée and found they should have asked that the salmon be cooked thru. After a trip to the kitchen, the salmon came out perfect. I was very impressed with the 'chocolate purse' we had for dessert. This is a pearl in the Chicago suburbs.
I go here quite often and for some reason today was not the best. I had salmon which was undercooked and the mashed potatoes were cold. The dessert was not very good either. I guess the students were having a bad day. Hopefully next time will be better. In the past the food was always delicious so I will go back.
