Went to try and find a good steak and a nice night out with dinner and drinks with a friend. Bar was really expensive and they did not serve bread with meal for some reason. Service poor and prices high although food was good, just expensive (probably because it was in a Marriott hotel) Recommend Seltzers by a lot)
Great experience!! Food was amazing!!!
Thank you for dining with us and leaving a great review! We hope to serve you again.
Great restaurant, we've been there more times than I can count. One of the absolute best steak restaurants on the beach and their seafood is really good too. Ask for Michelle !
Thank you for taking the time to Watercolour Grillhouse! I am so happy you enjoyed your experience with Michelle. We hope to serve you again soon.
Probably my favorite place to eat in Clearwater. Always top of the line food and service.
Thank you for taking the time to review Watercolour Grillhouse ! We are thrilled that you enjoyed your dining experience! We hope to serve you again soon.
Watercolor Grill was previously one of our two or three favorite restaurants. Now their menu is extremely reduced in seafood selections. We probably will not go back there again until they get back to normal.
.Hopefully they will get back to a fantstic menu like they used to have.
We had family visiting from out of town and we were celebrating a 20 Year Anniversary. It was wonderful and we even got one free dessert! Our server was outstanding!
It was our 1st time eating out since the virus and social distancing. The menu had enough to choose from since they adjusted it. We have had better service in the past.
I have been here before and enjoyed it. My son and I went as things were starting to open up with the Covid phase openings. The tables were spaced apart and it was a very nice setting. They have a beautiful view of the water. We both ordered steaks, which may have been over cooked a little, but they were still good. Their house salad is delicious, and we ordered asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes, which are enough to share for probably four people! The staff was so nice - great place to eat!
Caesar salad was horrible ( days old). Fish and meat were pretty good. Service and ambiance were great. They do make fresh sushi in the evenings.
Our dining experience was wonderful. Our server was just attentive enough, met all of our needs. The view was fantastic! The food outstanding. A definite return when there
That you to entire staff for wearing masks and gloves. It was greatly appreciated it. Service was outstanding and dinner was exquisite
Watercolors staff did a very good job of making our visit feel safe and enjoyable.
Excellent service , delicious food and creative cocktails with a lovely lagoon view.
Food was mediocar, service was ok. For the price I expected excellence.
Was perfect and on point
Crab cakes 12 out of 10
Sushi top notch
Wine selection perfect
Sushi top quality
Service A 1
Wow, what excellent steak. Cooked to perfection, served in a simple sauce. Grillhouse salad was enjoyable too. My only complaint is minor - the old fashioned was served with the wrong ice. Regardless it was tasty and it complimented the steak well. What an enjoyable anniversary dinner. I would love to come back next year and make it a tradition.
Sushi was great and everything else was great as usual
The service was really slow and the food was mediocre at best. Our steaks were over cooked and kept cooking because of the searing hot plates (that did not sit properly on the bottom plate making it hard to even cut the steak) they are served on. Their ‘secret sauce’ was just salty and lacked any other flavor.
Very good food and service, a little pricey but worth it!
My reservation was at 8:15. I got there a few minutes early and was told it would be around 10 minutes. I had to ask multiple times and finally at 8:45 I was seated. The hostess was not very friendly to my inquiry. Primarily at the time there were 6 empty tables in the dining area. I tried to get served a drink in the waiting area but there was no wait service there. When I went to the bar, it was a chaotic . the food was great and my waiter Ricardo was excellent. Was ashamed that there were 3 hostess just standing there when they were not swallowing their pizza in view of everyone coming up to the desk. I expected better of a restaurant of this quality
Make sure you ask if theres a set dinner menu for the day you are visiting and what's the % service charge.
Valentine’s Day. We know this is a busy evening but the lack of attention was a stark disappointment. Checked in 15 minutes early, was told they’d text when ready. Thirty minutes later, after no word, we went back to hostess who said she didn’t know we had arrived. In the meanwhile, we’d gone to bar in hopes of ordering a drink. After 10 minutes or so wait person said she’d be back but didn’t show up till we were leaving 20 minutes later. Food was good but late on arrival, likely because of how busy they were. Won’t be back.
Worst night ever! We have waited for a special occasion to have dinner there. Brought friends with us. It was a total nightmare. My friend’s steak was fatty. My shrimp appetizer and main dish were cold. We had a good 45 minute wait for a glass of wine. Spent way to much for the quality of food and service. One star restaurant! We only live one mile away. Won’t be back again.
Valentines dinner. Price fixe meal for $75. Beautiful place & service by Monica was terrific. Unfortunately my ribeye was not good. Very very fatty & mushy. I did not complain because it was a joyful occasion and Monica was great.
Great food. Best crab cake in the world and wonderful wine selection.
Thank you for taking the time to leave an awesome review! We truly appreciate your compliments on the overall dining experience and I will make sure that makes it back to the team! The Crab Cake is my personal favorite item on the menu, I am so happy that you enjoyed it as well. I hope we have the pleasure of serving you again in the near future. Resturant Manager, Kelly Scannell
I was disappointed in the bursting salad. Where were the tomatoes. Service was excellent. Great entree
John, Thank you for taking the time to leave an awesome review! We truly appreciate your compliments on the service and I will make sure that makes it back to the team! If you choose to get the Burratina salad again, please do not hesitate to order extra tomatoes. It would be our pleasure to do that for you. We hope to serve you again soon!
To be fair, this was not your typical evening at Watercolour. Being New Years's Eve it was quite hectic, but the overall experience did not measure up to what we've come to expect there. First, we waited close to an hour for our reserved table, which wouldn't have been horrible, except we could not get served a drink at the bar. Usually, the bar service is exceptional, but on this evening there were only two bartenders working and both were in the weeds. After a long wait in the crowded lobby, we were finally seated.
Thankfully, we got a great waiter. Jason was clearly overloaded with tables, and yet he managed to make us feel special and made sure our drinks were always full. The menu was prix fixe, so we each got to choose an appetizer, entree, and a dessert. Having eaten here before, our expectations were high.
When the appetizers arrived, we were both pleased with the crab cake, which is something we've had before. The Chargrilled Oysters, on the other hand, were a disappointment. We've had chargrilled oysters at Drago's in New Orleans, so our bar is pretty high for these. The ones we got at Watercolour were not really chargrilled in any way we could see, and one was pretty cold on the inside. Fortunately, our water intervened and got us another carb cake to split, so he saved the appetizer portion of the meal.
We both ordered the ribeye steak and being a steakhouse, you'd expect it to be awesome. While they were pretty good, they weren't great. To be fair, the chef did a great job of making them taste good, but the cuts weren't the best. The steaks were a bit thin, cooked close to medium-well, and despite being advertised as bone-in, had no bones. All in all, they were fine, but again, not what you'd expect from a really good steakhouse. It just seemed like they were banging them out to meet the demand.
The desserts were quite good, so at least the meal ended on a high note.
We were in Clearwater for NYE and made a reservation here based on reviews. BIG mistake. I wasn't told when making the reservation that it would be a prix fixe menu. Got a call that day notifying us. My boyfriend, who has Celiac's, tried calling 4 times to confirm that his allergy could be accommodated. Eventually he got through and was told yes. We were hopeful it would be a fun night based on the advertised champagne toast and live music. We arrived 10 minutes early and checked in, but weren't seated until 15 mins after our 8:15 reservation time. We weren't told where we could get a drink or anything. I was put off by that, and the look of the restaurant. Our booth seat was peeling terribly. There was no live music! It took a very long time for our waiter, Ricardo, to come over. The champagne flutes he brought were barely 1/4 full. Other tables had 3/4 full glasses. He seemed extremely flustered. We ordered our meal and drinks. Starters took forever to come and we had no silverware. Ricardo hasn't come back and I had to ask another waiter for utensils. Shrimp ceviche was PATHETIC - 3 wilted, tiny shrimp and a dollop of guac. Lamp chops were extremely fatty. Still no drinks. Ricardo brought our drinks finally, after we finished starters. No apologies. The steak entree was good but took forever to come out. It's a tiny restaurant - I asked if there was another section. He said no. The pink champagne cake was the worst dessert I've ever eaten. Stale, cold, rock hard. I took one bite and didn't touch the rest. It was like something that had been sitting at a low-rate grocery store for days. BF got 2 chocolate covered strawberries as his GF option. So pathetic. Ricardo didn't ask if we wanted another round of drinks, or if there was something wrong with the dessert. Unfortunately tip was already included in the check. He didn't even wish us a Happy New Year - a food runner did. Food was lousy, experience was terrible, complete rip off.
Food great - although crab cake could have been warmer
Staff attentive and efficient
But - it was New Years Eve and we intended it as an evening out. We booked for 7:45pm, were seated at 8:10pm, and had completed our meal by 9:10pm!
Each time we finished a course, the next one was already waiting - in fact the mains were brought before our starters plates had even need cleared away
Despite is being billed as a New Years Eve Party - “champagne at midnight” - we felt rushed and that they wanted our table back ASAP for folks waiting in the lobb
Not quite what we had anticipated.
We were back home by 9:30, watching Anderson Cooper!
Granted it was New Years Eve . We had 730 reservations. Only 2 bartenders at the main bar . Wouldn’t even look up at us to get a drink . Food was cold
Always a great meal and a beautiful place.
Thank you for dining with us and taking the time to provide feedback! I am so happy to hear that you always receive a great meal with us. It is a pleasure serving you and we hope you dine with us again soon.
I wish I would’ve known about the set menu beforehand. The food was overpriced and variety was poor.
Very overpriced. Brought entrees before appetizers. Soup was salty and inedible
OMG. Poor service, poor Christmas dinner menu, the price is far away too high !! The only thing we all liked was appetizer !!! Ham and steak was soo bad...and cold.Sorry guys- never again. The staff was rude:(((Very very disappointed with Christmas dinner. So sad
Food was cooked properly but tasteless. The bone in ribeye, which should have been bursting with beefy flavor, tasted like cardboard. It was cooked perfectly and looked awesome but just no flavor at all. Service was problematic: guy said he was waiting for us to wave him over, when we finally got tired of waiting and asked if he was ever going to take our order. Overall, a pretty blah experience, not one I’d like to repeat.
Watercolour Grillhouse serves up one of the better steaks in the area. I make getting at least one Ribeye a part of each stay at the resort. My most was one steak three days in a row. The salad with blackened grouper was tasty. Drinks, like their margaritas, were overly sweet. Traditional martinis are great.
This restaurant is kind of in the hotel lobby, but it is still a very elegant steakhouse. The steaks were prepared beautifully. The service was very attentive. The appetizers and sides were also delicious. A wonderful high class experience.
Service was excellent. Price was very overpriced but still had an amazing time visiting with my friend.
Service from server extremely slow, but we were not in a hurry. Caesar salad was a poor excuse. Dressing... definitely not Caesar.Nothing like it has been in the past. Bread basket.... every piece of the 3 breads given were were held too long in the warmer therefore inedible. Wife had blackened scallops which were fantastic!! Sweet and perfectly cooked. Hanger steak done rare plus, was incredibly tender, flavorful and perfectly cooked. A great value! Hash browns ordered were not crispy nor hot enough. Malbec ordered was served at room temperature. Way too warm. Why really nice restaurants continue to serve red wine warm is beyond my understanding. Stupid or too cheap to buy wine preserver cabinet. Overall not too bad but will not rush back
