The best raw oysters I’ve experienced to date. The service at the bar was fantastic, Tasha tended to us like a boss. Great recommendations, muscles were amazing and the steaks are amongst the best I’ve had as well. For drinks I recommend the margarita verde, cucumber and spice made the night even that much more enjoyable.
Great meal. Fresh salmon was very tasty.... Great evening...
Our server Mitch helped make the most amazing experience reconnecting with family. Have not had a chance to get together in person because of covid for the last two years. It was very special. The food was incredible. Definitely recommend!
From the Valet to food and everything in between was perfect great experience with great views
Great dinner with the best Santa Monica sunset in a long time. Oysters and Sea Urchin were the best we've ever had.
Great time and food at the bustling Santa Monica outlet for this seafood institution. Really good service and thoughtfully accommodating.
Our waitress, Denisa, was the best. She was always there, anticipating our every need. The oysters was delicious, as well as the crab legs and Filet Mignon. Best dinner ever.
Great place along Ocean Ave. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great seafood selection and quality. Recommend the oyster sampler! Service was attentive, but a little slow given it didn't seem that busy. Overall, great dinner and experience. Will definitely return.
I've been there many times it is always a good bet.
Halibut was dry, brussel sprouts slimy, butter had salt on top -- why?
Servers are super nice
Dishes can be a bit hit or miss when it comes to flavor.
Our server was awesome!
Consistently great, and they don't ask for a corkage. I love this place.
Good experience. The staff was helpful, moved a heat lamp to make us more comfortable. Knowledgable about the wine and food menus. Would definitely return. if we lived in LA.
The food, atmosphere, service, everything was phenomenal. Our server went above and beyond, probably the best client support I’ve ever experienced. My gf also loved the spot! Will definitely be back and make sure to recommend everyone I know to check it out
Good all the way around. The new beet salad was fantastic!
Lunch for two days and worth it!
Octopus, calamari, oysters, bread, lobster roll, squash, wine all outstanding!
We had to wait past our reservation time a d front desk was a bit confusing but once we were seated the service and food was amazing
Great food and fantastic service! Every aspect was first rate.
After having a fantastic experience at their San Diego location, I decided to try the Santa Monica location for a special birthday dinner. I booked early on Open Table and confirmed the day before the requests for a nice table for our birthday guest. When we arrived we were sent to the bar and it was very unclear whether they were coming to get us when our table was ready or if we had to check in. We asked the waiter at the bar and he did not know. We went to the host stand again and received a vague answer. There should be one well-known policy. The drinks were incredible. So delicious. The bar waiter, Richard, was fantastic. And that's it: everything else was really bad. I'm so embarrassed I hosted my birthday guest there. The calamari was swimming in a pool of oil. The shrimp scampi was literally cold in the middle. The oysters were not very varied in their available types. The ice cream sunday had frost bite all over it. The server assistant was incredibly rude to us and the table next to us. The waiter was rushed and clearly in the weeds. This place, unlike the San Diego location, is clearly a tourist joint as you would expect on the pier. Definitely okay for a few drinks; but definitely not worth the 400 dollars I had to pay last week. I'm really really disappointed with their food quality and the process for checking in and waiting for tables. The obviously frozen shrimp, overly breaded fish and chips, the oily calamari, it's all akin to Red Lobster but 10 times as much expense wise.
A great place for dinner with your family and friends! Nice sunset view!
I recommend for great fresh seafood if in the area. Great views. Good drinks and great wine!
As always the food is amazing here.
Will definitely reco.
The check in is easy and stress free - staff is very friendly right at the start.
Ambience is warm and nice.
Food is great.
The place is clean and I’ve observed staff disinfect often.
Most of all the 5 starts is for the one serving our table Denisa - she’s a gem, always checking on us making sure our needs are met. And very accommodating. That makes our dining experience outstanding.
Phenomenal food and great atmosphere, right on Ocean overlooking the Pacific!
A lively go to seafood spot, great to sit at the bar, sip a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, and eat their oysters raw, and if you feel like splurging, in Rockefeller form.
Matthew was a terrific server. The pace was just right and the food portions were large.
Our server was excellent, very attentive and friendly woman. On the other hand, the front desk attendant was not delicate guy at all. Food was not very good to my taste.
Loved everything we had. Being outside across the street from the ocean, the sunset was amazing. A little pricey but worth it.
I attended for the first time for dine LA and it did not disappoint. The courses and options were filling, but there was also a solid variety which stood out to us when it came to booking. If you love seafood and chill oceanside vibes and views, even at night, Water Grill is for you. It's casual as far as dress code, ladies if you wear heels, the floor is slick, not in a bad way, but my heels were new, so they slipped a bit. Definitely recommend the calamari, sea bass and the incredible key lime pie. I'm not a huge key lime girl, but I would absolutely go back just for theirs.
We celebrated my wife’s Birthday. The service staff and food quality were excellent. We will definitely go again.
Food and service were both outstanding...had shrimp Louie, bass, sushi and Caesar salad all top notch. Also celebrated our anniversary and they provided a delicious desert....
Fabulous fish and food overall.
Excellent waiter and food superb
Seated promptly for a 1:30pm Sunday lunch (reservations thru OpenTable) outside, very nice wait person, food was very good (Wild Jumbo Shrimp Louie Salad, traditional Lobster Roll). One side salad that should have arrived with lunch was missed and late but delivered was taken off the bill without me asking. Other than that, wait and service staff was very attentive. Fully recommend!
No sirvió de mucho la reservación, nos metieron 25 minutos después.
Food is over rated and not cooked properly. Shellfish and shrimp cocktail were terrible and and not fresh
This was our first time at Water Grill. We were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday. The food and service was amazing. I was happy I made reservations because there was an hour and a half wait time.
