   This is the third time in 3 weeks that I have dined at the Water Grill. The food is absolutely delicious and we had a wonderful time. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I and my family and friends will definitely be back.

   We've been here several times and love it. The "problem" is that we love the calamari, octopus, and oysters Rockefeller as a meal! The cod fish and chips is very thick and delicious. We usually sit on the north rail looking at the ocean. The interior tables above the outdoor tables are also nice. The chocolate ganache dessert is great! It's our favorite place.

   I love the indoor/outdoor aspect of this restaurant. The service was outstanding. Everyone else loved their meals. My shrimp scampi was too spicy for me. I wish they would have indicated how spicy this dish was on the menu.

    Would it not have been for the manager (Taylor) I would have given this restaurant a 1 star review. In a nutshell, the kitchen and the busser really messed things up (badly) but the waiter and, especially, Taylor (the manager) made a concerted effort to rectify matters as best she could.

    Our waitress was on point and provided excellent service. We ordered the lobster sushi with a soy wrap. Unfortunately I had to send it back. Found a hair on a piece. Manger came over and apologized and asked if we wanted something else, I was willing to re-order the same thing and when it arrived, it was just right. Our waitress stopped by our table and mentioned the Manager offered us dessert on the house, it was a nice offer but we were stuffed. When our checked arrived, my sushi was removed off our tab. I would like to say that the Manager made things right and was by far the best manager I’ve met in a long time. Thank you!

    For once someone read the personal request I added to my online reservation. I was greeted with a mention about my request. That was nice. Then Service was pleasant, friendly, sophisticated but not intrusive... and the Food was perfect. We'll be back soon.

    Expected the food experience to better than it was. It was a “bland diet” experience. The the halibut and the brussel sprouts could have had more flavor. Otherwise the bread was great and the caesar salad 🥗 was great.

    First time our food was all over cooked and charred, our server was awesome but they didn’t offer to exchange. Normally, this place is 5*’s and for the price point, it should always be so. Don’t let this put you off, but bare in mind.

    Really disappointing experience at lunch yesterday. I’ve loved the Water Grill and had a few good meals here over the years but yesterday was truly awful. The staff was dismissive and rude, and the food was bad. My friend and I each ordered appetizers and then a Caesar salad and Lobster roll as mains to share, clearly ordered as courses. Without paying any attention or the smallest ounce of care, every dish was delivered at the same time and dumped ungraciously on the table like we were farm animals. Failing to course a meal is inexcusable for a restaurant of this establishment’s type and reputation. Worse, when we asked that our mains be returned to the kitchen until we’d had a chance to enjoy our appetizers, the waitress (young woman who dropped off the food, not the person who’d otherwise served us) was rude and rolled her eyes like we were being unreasonable. Other than that, the lobster roll was one of the WORST I’ve ever HAD. Dry, toasted brioche bun with a tablespoon of shredded lobster — no seasoning, no Mayo, just dry meat on dry bread with no flavor. It was shocking. There were a few staff who were politely disinterested, as opposed to rude, but our server Andre could have cared less. He barely looked at us when we ordered and didn’t bother to make an effort at even being mildly attentive when we went out of our way to be as polite as possible. I can safely say that in spite of past positive experiences, I will never return to Water Grill again.

    Great location, great atmosphere/décor, good service. My halibut was dry and a little over cooked. The good was underwhelming, especially for the price. I would go back, but probably just for a drink.

    Serevice was much, much better than last weekend; very attentive and quick. Good job. Food was all good except the king crab legs, which probably should not have been served, old and rubbery. But the calamari was stunning and the sea bass wonderful. I'll be back soon, just skipping one thing.

    Whenever I visit a city, I always love to try new restaurants. This one did not disappoint. I selected it based on the location, the menu selection, and the reviews. It did not disappoint. The food and service were superb! I had the crabcake, shrimp cocktail, shrimp scampi, a Lemon drop, and key lime pie for dessert. The most delicious burst of food flavors.     Had a reservation for 7pm. Arrived at 6:55 pm. Was told to wait inside and they will come and find us when our table is ready. 2 things. We did not get seated until 7:39 pm. I think that is waaaay too long of a wait when we made a reservation. No one came up to us or apologized for the wait or said anything at all. We asked twice when we might get a table. Response was “soon” and again no apology or any type of genuine customer service. Such as a feeling of empathy or communication. It seemed like they were doing us a favor by letting us eat there. Or we were lucky to just be able to be there and if we had to wait….oh well, too bad. Also, someone texted us at 7:26 to tell us our table was ready. FINALLY/ Well it is very loud and noisy inside. My phone was in my purse. NO one said they would Text us at any point. So I did not even think to look at my phone for this information since the host stand was right outside the front door. If you text your guests and they have been waiting for almost 35 minutes and do not respond after 2-3 minutes, how about walking inside to TELL them their table is ready.??? Not hard. Lack of communication. Lack of customer service. We almost left and then we grabbed one of the servers walking by, told her our issue and she finally got the hostess to seat us. Not a good start to a very pricey dinner. The food was good and our server was wonderful. But the first people to greet us and seat us need customer service training and less attitude. Very disappointed and why bother making a reservation? Not a good start to an evening celebration and expensive dinner. Would not go back.

    The crab cake, shrimp cocktail, cheesecake and sea bass off the Dine LA menu was great! I don't recommend the shrimp scampi, or the bread pudding desert off the Dine LA menu, they did not taste very good. The shrimp scampi was drenched in butter and the flavor was lacking, the noodles were too soft, the shrimp tasted great out of it. The bread pudding had no flavor to it, could be served with more caramel drizzle so you have more flavor.

    Celebrated a birthday here and everything was wonderful. Although it was a Friday night and busy the service was very attentive. And it was nice to read a real menu and not have to scan it on a phone. Of course, the fish and seafood were excellent. Pricey yes, but worth every penny due to quality, preparation, and portion size. Also a nice birthday treat on the house. The Water Grill is always a go-to for special occasions.
