Everything was great really enjoyed ourselves
The food was very bland and tasteless. Seabass was not throughly cooked, steak was not tender and seasonless .
The food isn’t worth the prices
The food was exceptional! The Chilean sea bass and Alaskan cod were out of this world! Tyler our server was fantastic as well! $10 valet, so it’s convenient!
Always a great experience at Water Grill! Never disappointed from service to food.
Nice room, great food. Had the hamichi nachos, clams, Mac n cheese and the salmon. All super tasty!
The food and service were excellent. Our waiter had really good suggestions based on our preferences and was very accommodating when we decided to change things last minute. This is seafood lovers DREAM!
great place to have date food was very good have oyster plater yummy
The best seafood restaurant in Los Angeles!!!
Our first visit. Excellent service and food. They know sea food and do it well.
Service was unfortunately slow. We didn’t have a server for nearly 10 minutes, and the restaurant was maybe 60% full. Our server was nice and apologetic about the wait but then it continued to be sparse checkin’s. A manager toward the end of our meal stopped by and asked how our meal was & asked if there was anything she could do, our reply was a Togo box for the remainder of our food. I should have known by her non-verbal response that she was taken aback by our request. Her response although not verbal read to me as ‘I’m a manger, you don’t ask me for boxes, that’s server work’. So we obviously didn’t get a box from her and had to wait for our server to come back by and make a second request. Disappointed, we typically go to the OC location and expected similar quality of service but dtla just didn’t serve it up. Won’t be back.
Never disappoints. Had their oysters as a starters. I had their Brittany fish with sides of Mexican corn and mashed potatoes. Ambience is always great as well.
It’s was great, food was delicious! We had reservations for 9:45pm. We got seated less than a few minutes after. I also brung my two children. They had a great time as well. We valet for 10 flat.
Amazing dinner. Service was slow but I’m assuming they are understaffed from covid.
Our waiter Chris was fabulous. Very attentive and nice about getting us a special dessert for our birthday boy.
The shrimp with heads on in the middle of our seafood platter did not seem to be fresh. Everything else was delicious.
Overall a good dining experience and excellent food taste and prep. Service was unfortunately slow but understandable given Covid, return to indoor dining, maybe some new staff or kitchen. But once things got rolling all was delish!
We loved the atmosphere. I had the jumbo shrimp, which was good. The brocclini was great. The girls had shrimp scampi with mac and cheese. The loved it, especially the mac and cheese. They thought it was awesome. We were celebrating a birthday, so the birthday girl liked to cookies with ice cream. Overall it was a nice dinner.
So glad it was open; one of our favorite restaurants that never disappoints. Love the atmosphere, food and service.
The food is as wonderful as ever. Fabulous lobster roll. However, the service was slow, and we never got bread. The value is not not quite what it used to be, but I understand restaurants have had to raise prices to recoup some of their pandemic losses. Water Grill remains one of my favorites, and I was delighted to be back.
Service was a bit slow due to only 3 waiters for the whole restaurant during lunch time. The place was packed 6-17-21
This is my favorite restaurant as far as seafood goes. When I am in the mood for seafood, we always go to WaterGrill.
Our favorite restaurant, from when first courting my now wife, to our 20th Anniversary.
Chris was very nice and helpful
We took my mom here for dinner and it was absolutely delicious! Staff is friendly and attentive and the food was amazing!
I was very surprised I've eaten at the Water Grill before and it was excellent. This time I ordered the Halibut which was featured. It was a nice size but not too tasteful. It was cooked right just not that good of a piece of fish. They did serve it on a bed of corn, pepper, and cojita but they left out that it had cilantro in it. I'm one of those that cilantro tastes like soap.
Exactly food and service. Good place to eat when you are in downtown LA.
it’s a good restaurant, flavor are good , but despite we had a reservation we need to wait for 20 minutes to get a table , they receive a lot of people at the same time bue apparently there are fe waiters to attend people
Very disappointed with Water Grill DTLA. Used to go every trip to LA. Last night was horrible. Long wait for a table although I had a reservation. Extremely long waits for all aspects of the meal. Food was terrible. I’ll have to scratch Watergrill off the list. Makes me sad.
Great to stop by after a long time away. Great location, great service, great food!
I enjoyed the amazing shrimp louie salad so much a week ago, I returned again just to have it. The location is a DTLA gem, and the food is beyond fresh and delicious. So much so, it's even worth dealing with DTLA traffic and parking!
We will be back!
Both Steven the manager and Michael our server did an excellent job taking care of us.
The food was outstanding and the service was expeditious! We needed to catch a train and they were helpful to get us there on time.
The Water Grill is a classic!
We look forward to our next visit.
We’ve been here numerous times. This time was a bit different. The food was t as tasty this time around.
Water Grill continues to serve the best seafood in Los Angeles and the "in restaurant dining" was greatly missed. We could not have had a better meal and experience.
What an exceptional dining spot for fresh seafood. The service was wonderful.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
I had a great time took my parents to water grill in dtla and amazing food everything that we order was just perfect. The drinks were amazing I ordered the castaway and my mother ordered the grand Avenue both were great drinks. Oysters were perfect and no complaints. Service was on point
The food was outstanding I waited to get served and appetizer for a long time so didn't like the wait time. It was very noisy there and crowded. Use. The ambience was OK nothing too special but I really did have a good time here I would give it a 4 out of 5 didn't blow my mind a great food and lovely waiter. The manager also came over and wanted to know if everything is going well so I thought that was pretty special
Glad they are back. Not inexpensive but always a great dining experience
We’ve been long time patrons of Water Grill and this was our first time back after pandemic. Service and food were exceptional and better than we remembered.
